Both Robert Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon had complete creative freedom and wanted the movie to be "pointless". The film has a very small budget and the cast mainly did their roles with little to no pay.

Robert Ben Garant said the last couple minutes of the film was mostly improvised.

It was Riki Lindhome's (Marjorie) idea to go full frontal nude in the shower scene when she is introduced. She is good friends with Robert Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon, as well as the main cast.

The two cops, played by actors Rob Huebel and Paul Scheer, wear name tags with each others real life last name. The two actors are also two thirds of the comedy sketch show "Human Giant".

This film features a character named Mrs. Nussbaum. "Mrs. Nussbaum" was a radio character, Pansy Nussbaum, played by Minerva Pious in Fred Allen's famous "Allen's Alley" current-events skits. In the comedy Las angustias del Dr. Mel Brooks (1977), Mel Brooks mentioned "Mrs. Nussbaum" as being one of his patients. In another comedy El patán (1979), a character has stolen "Mrs. Nussbaum's credit card".
