Dr Chaddha's role was offered to Om Puri who could not do it. During FilmFare award 2013 function, while receiving best actor in supporting role Annu Kapoor revealed that he was not the first choice for this role though at the end moment god gave some wit to movie director and he end up casting him for this role.
Dr. Baldev Chadda (Anu Kapoor) jokingly tells a client that John Abraham is coming to Delhi next week, and that he can arrange for Abraham's sperm sample. John Abraham is the producer of the film.
The song "Pani Da" is composed (in conjunction with his friend) and sung by Ayushmann Khurrana himself.
Despite the usual trend, Abraham did not take up the leading role in the film: "It was a conscious decision to not act in my first production because I believe producing a film is about creating quality content that I believe in."
Incidentally, Ayushmann who plays the lead role, successfully performed a task on the reality show MTV Roadies: Season 2 , which was sperm donation.
