Caio Blat and Luisa Arraes previously appeared on the stage play version of the novel, directed by Bia Lessa who also directed the actors in O Diabo na Rua no Meio do Redemunho (2023).

Caio Blat and Luisa Arraes also appeared in O Diabo na Rua no Meio do Redemunho (2023), which is also adapted from the same novel "Grande Sertão Veredas", written by João Guimarães Rosa. That film is adapted from a monologue used in the novel, and in that other film Caio Blat also plays the role of Riobaldo.
