Inspired by the true story of Casey Garcia, a 30-year-old mother in Texas who impersonated her 13-year-old daughter at an El Paso middle school. She spent an entire school day attending classes, eating lunch and posting on social media while posing as her daughter. She alleged it was a social experiment to expose what she considered inadequate protocols meant to protect students. She was arrested on one count each of criminal trespass and tampering with government records.
Tammin Sursok (Renee) compared the tone of the script to Jawbreaker (1999) and Election (1999).
