Not the greatest movie I ever watched, but far from the worst.

Early in the story, when the young lady wheeled herself out of danger faster than the bad guy could run, I knew the writing would not be stellar; but many of the scripts today leave much to be desired. The viewer must pay attention to the opening act to get the personalities & relationship of the main characters; Better editing may have made the story follow a bit more smoothly. I was waiting for a reason Hannah had shaved hair one year later but none was ever given.

Hannah, in my opinion, was not a likeable character, none of them were actually, but the who-done-it aspect held my attention throughout. Everyone was less than honest, forthcoming & helpful, and looked guilty and/or possibly involved at some point. Many twists & turns. I didn't expect the ending; I was glad I stuck with it.

The bins

Literally stood next to the bins in an ally, 'Wait! The bins, check the bins!' three policemen stood in the ally next to two 2 bins, 'we haven't got the resources to be looking in a bin that is literally next to us', she can't as she is in a wheel chair, 'ok we will check one of them but if we don't find a body there mustn't be any need to check the other one', next day the woman's cleaner 'Bin men are here' 'oh no there a body in one of those bins....' it's just propostuous writing. She is actually quite good and Ross Kemp is really trying to not be the character in extras.....I just can't see past it!

Terrible amateur waste of time

Take a terrible script writer, several really bad actors, one known soap actor, throw in a low budget and you get an appalling amateur boring four part series called Blindspot. I can't believe the Channel 5 production team would finance this and then having seen the finished production actually put it on tv!

I thought that many other channels shows were poor but few have reached this low a level. Even the villain wasn't that menacing and couldn't act either I'm surprised RADA gave any of the cast membership maybe a reflection of how low the younger acting profession has sunk to in recent times!

Don't waste your time

Can't believe somebody at Channel 5 say through this and still thought "yeah that's great let's air that" It was full of plot holes and the acting was like GCSE drama, the lead character being the worst culprit. Like when she wheeled away from a man on foot shes supposed to be faster than him? It was actually embarrassing to watch at some points. Acting aside the character was not likeable in any way, and there seemed to be hardly anyone in the whole show?

I like Ross Kemps documentaries so to see him in this was sad to see. Not sure what tempted to go back to acting

Not impressed at all don't bother watching.

It got better

If I had written a review after the first episode I probably would have given it 2 stars or 3 at a stretch but I've seen too many unjust reviews based on one episode and sometimes only ten minutes, so I stuck with it. Most of the bad comments are aimed, unfairly, at Beth Alsbury who improved episode by episode. I don't know if she really is disabled, no info on here, or just written that way.

I did wonder where all her hair went after the opening scene where she witnesses the murder of her friend, it was never mentioned.

I will agree the script was not the best and there plenty of holes but most crime dramas have holes.

It was nice to see Ross Kemp back to acting even if his character wasn't the strong man you expect him to be.

Truly appalling

This is so horrendously bad - I'm addicted to it. If this was Ross Kemp doing a documentary on bad acting, I'd give it a 10/10.

The acting is bad, the script is bad, the story could be good if it had been better produced.

For a thriller, there are few thrills and little in the way of tension or apprehension. It has literally stirred no emotion in me - apart from disbelief.

The CCTV was installed post-murder to make the estate safer. But no CCTV installed to cover the dark bin area which was the scene of the murder 🤷

If I could be bothered, I'd play cliché bingo - every sad cliché has been used. The over-acting would be considered good if this was an end of term school play, but as a prime time drama it lacks any quality.

Having said that - I will continue watching on the off chance it gets better.

Please please ignore the negative comments/ rating it's very clever and a brilliant watch!!!

Blindspot is a 2023 drama mystery thriller which consists of 4 episodes.( The last episode is 45 mins not 2 hours)

The Channel 5 thriller Blindspot stars former Eastenders star Ross Kemp as a detective who investigates a mysterious death.

While Hannah who is a CCTV Operator witnesses a murder after a girl disappears.

The leading actresses is superb she makes it with the storyline. Don't be fooled by the negative reviews/ rating.

My mum told me how good this 4 part drama was so had to watch it.

OMG surprisingly it was really good.

The storyline was brilliant from the very first episode all the way through to the final one it had you on the edge of your seat.

It certainly a different take on a normal detective drama but it worked really well.

Had loads of twists and turns and kept you guessing throughout.

Channel 5 has done well with this one people don't know what a good storyline is.

The acting from the main character Beth Alsbury ( Hannah) was incredible such a good actress she was the star of Blindspot.

Ross kemp not so much I think the part should have been played by a different actor that's my only criticism. He was okay. Not the best.

Overall it was a good watch.

If you want to watch a drama mystery thriller with a good storyline then this it. The lead actress is good to that's the best thing about Blindspot.

People didn't get it right on here with the low score/ reviews cause it turned out it was actually very good.

So if you like crime dramas and want to be hooked in to a great storyline then watch this !!!

It was bloody brilliant for me to say this it's got to be.

Get watching now streaming on My 5 !!

Enjoy 😊

Amateur Hour

It is quite clear that Ross Kemp has the presence to be in a hard-hitting police drama of quality. It is not difficult to imagine him as a short-tempered, rough-handed detective, and, unlike many actors who play such roles, he would actually be plausible as a character who can hold his own when it comes to dealing with violent criminals.

This makes it all the more disappointing then that he is wasted in this amateurish attempt at a drama. The dialogue is bad and riddled with cliché to the point of being insulting, and sounds like it was written by school kids, and not particularly well-read ones.

The show looks cheap, and a tree could act the cast off the screen. So wooden are the actors, they could be used to make the coffins their acting careers are surely to be buried in.

The main character is a box-ticking irritant who garners no empathy from the viewer, due to her obnoxious personality and because of the narcissistic and heartless way she treats her friends. That she is motivated only by self-interest, is epitomised by her threatening to kill an innocent dog in order to extract information from a terrified woman. How are we supposed to like this person? Were the writers banking solely on the fact that she is a wheelchair user for the audience to warm to her?

This of course removes any potential tension, because you really don't care whether or not she survives

A character needs to be likeable in order for the audience to care about their plight. Instead they go with an insufferable busy-body who makes you wish the killer had done us all a favour while he had the chance, and spared us everything that followed.

Of course, it is 2023, so Ross Kemp, on the rare occasions he appears on-screen (despite him being the reason most of us bothered to tune in in the first place) portrays an incompetent man, who has to be told how to do his job by a woman - a wheelchair-using one at that.

Incidentally, it is rather telling that the only positive reviews here mention superficial things about the showcasing of disabilities, which are irrelevant as to whether or not this is a compelling and worthy story.

The 10 star reviews are very suspicious, almost as though they were written by Beth Alsbury's friends, or by those more interested in virtue-signalling than the quality so blatantly lacking in this show - and of course we get the obligatory accusations of bigotry for daring to point out how poor Beth Alsbury's acting was in this show - She would fit perfectly into Hollyoaks.

But then she was not helped by just how insufferable her character was, or by the appallingly bad dialogue, and perhaps she would fare better with a likeable character and with a script written by adults.

Plot twists and turns, turns out to be v clever

Never understood why people review a mini series based on watching a fraction of the series, especially one that gets stronger with each episode.

Having reserved judgement until the end, my view is this was actually a rare crime drama where I've not figured out the plot early on. Its plot twists and turns are genuinely unpredictable, went in unexpected but plausible directions. The early question marks which look like implausible events that some reviewers refer to are actually explained by the end.

Excellent writing in my view and Kudos to the debutante actress. Oh and a truly massive F to those bigots that criticised the casting of a disabled actress as the lead.

Incredibly bad

So bad I don't even know where to start. An absolutely ridiculous plot with a storyline so full of holes you could drive a tank through it. I mean - the whole bins thing? Seriously stupid stuff like that turned it into almost a comedy.

The acting is dire. Kemp, who is no Olivier but is a decent enough actor, must be wondering where his life went wrong if this was his best option for an acting comeback. The rest of the cast aren't good enough to get a job as extras let alone get speaking parts! The lead character is vile - obnoxious, rude, totally unlikeable which actually could have been an interesting challenge for someone who could act, but Beth whatever her name is (I suspect we won't be hearing much of it in future) is as bad as the rest of them.

The whole thing has the vibe of a midweek daytime soap. I can only assume the 9 and 10 stars are friends and relatives of the cast. I gave it 1 star as zero wasn't an option. Really so, so bad - what were ch5 thinking?!?

Only got a 1 coz zero wasn't an option

Some of the worse Tv your likely to see. Made of a budget of about 20 quid. Awful acting. Terrible writing and it honestly takes itself so seriously that it becomes a comedy. How this was ok to transmit to the public I don't know.

Shot in Hungary doubling from a no named British town, even though nothing looks English.

Phoning it in from Kemp would be a complement. You can tell he doesn't wanna be there.

The girl in the chairs real disability is her acting. She's horrible.

The writing feels like one of those week day afternoon BBC dramas. They ones no one watches. Please. Just don't waste 4 hours of your life.

Is this supposed to be a comedy?

We're laughing like crazy at this. So bad it's brilliant. We really want to stop watching because it's truly awful, but we're intrigued as to how much worse it can get. Shocking, shocking quality acting and Ross Kemp really appears to not give a care as to whether he's there or not. A classic case of phoning in your role. The lady in the wheelchair must have got the role because they needed someone with a disability. Her main disability appears to be an inability to act. I don't recognise anyone else in the cast, so if it's true that it's filmed in Hungary, then maybe they picked this lot up on the way to the airport...

Save 4 hours of your life....

If you've recorded all four episodes for a binge watch - delete all and try something else.

Ridiculous series, farcical settings e.g. CCTV centre for "large northern city" (which some of the scene linking video looked like the Meanwood Road area of Leeds) with apparently only two operators, one controller for the cameras and about 8 screens, all accessible straight off the street with little security. GDPR??

Cameras in "dodgy council estate" 10 feet up a very slim pole, attached by jubilee straps - wouldn't last ten minutes in reality.

Wooden acting. Comical settings. Turgid dialogue.

Did Ross Kemp really want to be there?

Rubbish...

Loving the suspense

Great build up.. some moments that leave you screaming at the TV shouting "check the bins! Check the bins". Some great insights into living with disabilities for wheelchair users and partially deaf people.

Beth completely upstages Ross Kemp.. I hope the writer meant for that.. well played ;)

I've only seen the first two episodes but am looking forward to the next. The suspense, intrigue, connections, linkages, possible red herrings are all playful and adding to the build up.

I hope the writer and production team gets a chance to showcase more diversity and range of abilities. Thoroughly enjoyed it so far.

awful

A couple of strange reviews bumped up the overall rating to one that is not deserved, so I'm here to help bring it back to somewhere nearer to accurate. Recommended to me by my parents, in itself very strange and I wonder if they dozed off and didn't really watch it... Horrible acting by most of the cast, especially the lead, who also has the most annoying personality. As others have said, you could well be rooting for the crazy killer once you've heard 10 minutes of her nastiness. The cute dog is possibly a Biewer terrier, shall we have a discussion on that as it would be more interesting than this nonsensical waste of money, space, and anybody's time.

Dire in all departments

C5 have made a name for themselves in the last few years with cheap and cheerful thrillers some of which have been quite watchable - but I'm afraid this was a bottom of the barrel effort.

Production values were awful all round, the budget must have been miniscule but it doesn't excuse the poor direction, awful cast and truly woeful and often laughable script.

Lead Beth Alsbury gave an OTT performance that was all over the place and Ross Kemp acted like someone had slipped him a sedative before they went on set.

C5 should make fewer dramas and hire better talent, this was just too painful to watch till the end of the first episode. Do not waste your time on it.

Dreadful

This has to be the worst "drama" that Channel 5 has produced, and that is saying something as they have come up with some real dross in the past. But this one takes mediocrity to a whole new level.

Firstly, the main character, in the wheelchair, is compktely unlikeable and extremely irriitating. Ross Kemp plods his way through this, and i would have expected better from him than to appear in such a poor production The plot is full of holes particularly the first episode where the police refuse to search the bins for a possible body.....it would have taken them minutes to do that, but they point blank refuse to. Would that really happen ?

The main character is not only obnoxious, but she cant act. It got to the stage i was rooting for the masked killer to kill her off. And that villain was just laughable, I couldnt take it seriously.

In conclusion - absolute dross.

Very poor

For me the 1st episode was enough for me this has to be the worst Chanel 5 exclusive drama series so far which is a big achievement !

Actings not great but it must be hard to put your whole heart into something when the script seems like it was wrote by junior school children with all the silly holes in it also Ross Kemp didn't add anything he was pretty lame No way this is going to make a second series I see they have Danny Dyer in a drama next lol won't waste my time on that for sure.

Chanel 5 should just leave the drama to bbc/Chanel4 they know how to do it!

But that's only my thoughts I'm sure some will love it.

Full of twists

I am up to episode 3 with this and have been gripped. I love the strong twists at the end of each episode. I have no idea 'who done it' three episodes in and with just one more to go! A highlight is the superb, edgy acting from Beth Alsbury. She is an actor I have never seen before but holds the centre of the show with skill. We will see loads more of her on screen, I imagine, over the next years. Ross Kemp is very different as a faded, down on his luck cop compared to Grant Mitchell in Eastenders and grows into the part after a relatively quiet start. The atmosphere is like one of those 90's crime shows and I enjoyed the retro feel of the setting.

Just Look in The Bins !!!!!

I should start by saying I only watched 1 episode, I just couldn't summon up the fortitude to plough through any more.

Personally, I don't think Ross Kemp was ever much of an actor, he was typecast as Grant Mitchell, and when he left Eastenders that seemed to be his acting career finished. He is however, very good at presenting thought provoking documentaries, he should have stuck at those.

As a way back into acting, featuring in this dross was a cataclysmic decision.

The lead character is one of the most obnoxious characters I've seen on tv for a while, I had no sympathy for the character and didn't care what happened to her, the actress was clearly there as she is a wheelchair user, certainly not for her acting talents.

It was like a school play, or an am dram production. Poor writing, no character development, no real story, nothing felt "real" at all.

The scene where the Police were too busy to look in the bins, that were literally right next to them, was the final straw for me, I finished the first episode and retired gracefully, pretty much what the cast of this shameful production should do.

Ross, go back to documentaries love.
