This movie works without American self-righteous stances or clumsy mawkishness

The lead actors carry this movie well, all avoiding over-acting. Cole and Sutherland deliver excellent performances with Laura not too far behind. Harris is handicapped by her stunning scandi looks. She needs to allow a persona which overcomes her looks.

Good script which allows the story to evolve simply. No gun battles, no unneeded nudity and ne explosions. Just a story based on truth, told well.

We are not told if Harria has a love interest, a n d frankly don't care. The bit where one of the earlier cases involved a dildo is handled in a straightforward, non purient manNER.

Trivia
Gary Cole plays Col. Russell Williams, a military man convicted of murder in 2010. Cole played Captain/Doctor Jeffrey MacDonald in the 1984 TV movie 'Fatal Vision' based on the book of the same name by Joe McGinniss. MacDonald was also a (former) military man convicted of murder. MacDonald killed his wife and two daughters in February of 1970.

Errores
At the police roadside checkpoint, you can clearly see when the cops are looking at the tires on Col. Williams' vehicle that he is driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee. The real Russell Williams drove a Nissan Pathfinder, and later in the movie (near the end of the interrogation), we hear the Jim Smyth character correctly reference the "Pathfinder tracks" in the field next to Jessica Lloyd's house.
