You might think that this is a cute cuddly game for children that love Disney - and sure it is that.
You fish, plant vegetables, cook, design clothes and move furnitures you unlock to make your house or areas prettier.
When you talk to characters - it is subject about camradery, friendship and how much a gift can mean to someone. This is aomething we all expect from anything with the Disney stamp on it.
BUT, There is also sometimes dark part of anyones childhood - and this is a game that doesn´t shy away from themes that can be difficoult to adress.
We have loneliness, bullying, loss and uncomfortable moments that is discussed and sometimes tackled in the game.
I have to give the makers of this game huge credits for including this in the game, and it really makes the game have more content than most other "cottage" games that are out there.
It can be a little grindy sometimes, and the system they have to visit other people gardens are a mess, but is still the best Disney themed game i have ever played, and i love Kingdom Hearts.

One of the main gripes I have about this game is that there isn't enough clothes for men. In the rewards sections of the quests, all the rewards are women's clothing. EVERY. SINGLE. REWARD. In the shops you guessed it, womens clothing. Oh sure there are mens clothes but only suits and overalls. THAT'S IT.
Secondly if you're looking for Classic Disney, and I mean NON CGI, you have Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Merlin. That's it. Anyone born before 1988 will have no one they grew up with in the game, and that's the main plot of the game, that you grew up and forgot these people. And they're adding new characters from NEW movies. How have you forgotten these people?! I was excited to see characters from my childhood in the game when I bought it, and clothes for male MC, I'm done.

The game is broken, characters get stuck on things, there's achievements that you CAN NOT get unless you glitch the game. Like "Rebuild 24 character houses" yet There's only 21 characters available.
You can see around the map possible ideas and storylines they were going to explore, but it just feels like a game that has plenty of potential then was abandoned right after launch.
They could at least fix the achievements so they unlock.
The characters, you do unlock don't interact with the environment or have purpose other then walk around aimlessly, and you talk to once a day or a mission
This is a horrible, incomplete game!

Fantastic game! By purchasing it before it's been fully released, we've been an active part of ironing out the kinks and glitches, feeding back to devs with suggestions and seeing some of these appear in the game.
Some people (previous reviewer) clearly didn't realise what they were buying. The game isn't complete yet, but that's part of the fun! Yes, the glitches can be frustrating at times, but once reported the devs work hard on fixing for us ASAP.
Plenty to do and keep you busy with the main storyline and the friendship quests. And the proposed updates/new characters that are coming will add to that!
Absolutely worth buying on early release! Top tip - join FB groups that keep you up to date with what's coming up in the game!

'Disney Dreamlight Valley' is a life simulation adventure Game with of course, disney characters instead of original villagers created specifically for the game.
What's great about it is you don't even need to be a huge Disney fan to like this game, as long as it's your kind of game (i'm thinking of games like 'Animal Crossing' or Stardew Valley) you should enjoy it and have a good enough time.
Lucky for me though i'd say i'm a big enough fan of Disney to be hyped to have certain characters in my Valley, making the experience a little more special and unique than other life-sims.
The story is surprisingly relatable too, with themes of sadness, loneliness, and anger sprinkled in there, though it never goes off the rails and become a super depressing game or anything like that, it's still a fun (and addictive) game to play when you need relax.
