I like how cute and gross this is at the same time. Chainsaw Maid is just about a maid and she fights zombies when they break into the home she works at. She uses a chainsaw, because of course. And it's stop-motion without having any dialogue, because who needs characters to say words when there is a maid with a chainsaw?
It's a short film that gives the people what they want. I also find it endearing that you can find the original upload on YouTube still, where it's been for almost 18 years. I never found it before, but when I was a kid and discovering YouTube for the first time, stumbling across this might've changed everything. Might've even made me want to try stop-motion stuff (probably poorly, but it still would've been fun).
Watching Chainsaw Maid nowadays, it's not quite as great as it probably would be if watched with 12-year-old eyes, but it's still enjoyable. The crudeness of it all is endearing, especially the use of sound effects (they were funny).
