Meh. Watch it for the leads. That's about it.

A predictable plot, lighthearted screenplay, and an illogical second half overshadowed by the charm that three ladies bring to the screen; keep your brain aside to watch it for them and nothing else. There are some references to Tabu and Kareena's previous works, blink and you'll miss these. Diljit Dosanjh was wasted in the film, anybody could have played that role.

If you're going in expecting a proper heist film, this isn't for you. You can't take the heist seriously without logic, and you can't watch this film with logic. Watch it for Tabu, Kareena and Kriti; perhaps run it in the background.

Comedy Heist without the Heist

"Crew," directed by Rajesh A. Krishnan, is a heist comedy that promises more laughs than thrills. Starring an ensemble cast led by Kareena Kapoor, Tabu, and Kriti Sanon, the film follows the journey of three hard-working women who find themselves entangled in a web of lies and unwarranted situations.

Plot and Execution:

The story centers around the lives of these three women whose destinies intertwine in unexpected ways, leading to a series of comedic events. While the film is set up as a heist comedy, it falls short on the heist elements, focusing more on the humorous mishaps and the camaraderie between the lead characters.

The comedy is the film's strong suit, with several laugh-out-loud moments that are well-timed and effectively executed. The heist plot, however, lacks the cleverness and tension typically expected from the genre, resulting in a somewhat predictable storyline.

Characters and Performances:

The trio of Kareena Kapoor, Tabu, and Kriti Sanon deliver solid performances, each bringing their unique flair to their roles. Kareena's charm, Tabu's versatility, and Kriti's energetic presence create a dynamic that is enjoyable to watch. Their chemistry is the highlight of the film, driving the comedy and emotional moments alike.

In supporting roles, Diljit Dosanjh shines with his natural comedic timing and charismatic screen presence, adding a refreshing element to the film. Rajesh Sharma and Kapil Sharma also contribute effectively, providing strong emotional support and additional humor.

Strengths:

Comedy: The film excels in its comedic elements, with well-executed jokes and humorous situations that keep the audience entertained.

Cast Performance: The lead trio, along with the supporting cast, deliver engaging performances that enhance the overall experience.

Soundtrack: The movie features a beautiful soundtrack that complements the light-hearted and fun tone of the film.

Diljit Dosanjh: His performance is a standout, adding a layer of charm and wit that elevates the film.

Weaknesses:

Heist Elements: The heist aspect of the story is underdeveloped and lacks the intricacy and suspense that could have made the plot more engaging.

Predictability: The storyline is fairly predictable, with few surprises or twists to keep the audience on the edge of their seats.

Conclusion:

"Crew" is not a groundbreaking film by any means, nor does it aim to be a blockbuster or an art house masterpiece. It is, however, a fun, family-friendly movie that offers plenty of laughs and light-hearted entertainment. The film is perfect for a relaxed weekend watch, providing an enjoyable experience that audiences can appreciate and then move on from without much lingering impact.

Overall, "Crew" succeeds as a comedy thanks to its talented cast and humorous script, even if it falls short in the heist department. It is a pleasant, if not particularly memorable, addition to the genre.

Love it

Got a chance to watch it at Vue London. Entertaining, great one liners having the audience in splits. Good story, lovely direction with a cool twist in the end. For once I wished the ending was real. :-) Tabbu was her usual best, Kareena in her true bebop style while kriti is getting better by the day.

Family entertainer, ladies must watch and a movie cabin crew ppl can't miss on. Kareena Kapoor, Tabu & Kriti stole the show as they all have delivered tremendous performances. Kareena Kapoor though outshined everybody with the way she carried herself in the character of "Jasmine". Movie throughout is a ride of laughter which adds a lot to the movie. Loved how the script has used male stars in a way in which they have only pushed and developed the story of the female leads. That's so empowering.

A Glamorous Letdown in the Skies

As someone eagerly anticipating Crew, I had high hopes for an exhilarating heist comedy. However, the film never quite reaches its full potential. Despite featuring a star-studded cast and a promising concept, it struggles to soar due to its lackluster execution.

One aspect that shines is the trio of leading ladies. Kareena Kapoor, Tabu, and Kriti Sanon dazzle on screen with their charm and elegance, injecting life into their characters. Their performances add some much-needed flair to the movie, masking some of its flaws. Additionally, Director Rajesh A. Krishnan's signature absurd humor, reminiscent of "Lootcase," brings occasional chuckles, though it's not enough to compensate for the film's shortcomings.

The crux of the issue lies in the narrative's inability to sustain momentum. While the first half promises excitement and intrigue, the second half disappointingly falls flat. Predictable plot points and lack of depth leave much to be desired, ultimately failing to deliver the anticipated thrills.

**To sum it up:** Crew is a visually appealing but ultimately forgettable film. While it may serve as a pleasant diversion for those seeking star power and a light-hearted storyline, it falls short of delivering the gripping heist comedy it initially promises. Disappointment awaits those expecting a more captivating and surprising cinematic experience.

Safe Landing

A roughly predictable story line but I wasn't one to complain because these 3 ladies looked absolutely amazing in every scene. There were many instances where I burst out laughing.

Kareena with her charm, Tabu who looks simply amazing & Kriti with her youthful charisma.

In the midst of all that comedy, it also showcases the life of air stewards and it's not always a bed of roses and the extent a woman would go to achieve her dreams, fend for her family and get what she wants.

If you're looking for a feel good movie to relax and unwind with your workplace crush after work, this is the right pick for you.

The Crew took off and landed safely as predicted.

A much need fun female buddy film in Mainstream Bollywood

Rajesh A Krishnan's Crew comes across as a much needed breadth of fresh air amidst the propaganda and heavy action films. It is a delight to watch three actresses from different schools of acting coming together and having a blast. Particular mention must be made of Tabu and Kareena Kapoor. Kareena Kapoor Jasmine is someone who is unapologetically greedy and does not mind presenting herself as rich, at the same time there is a big loneliness underneath her fiesty nature. Kareena Kapoor does a brilliant job in portraying the different shades, Tabu's Geetha is caught between dreams and responsibilities and Tabu is her usual brilliant self. Kriti Sanon is also fairly good particularly in the scenes where her character has to show the moral dilemmas. There is a strong sense of sisterhood with some crackling chemistry. The men are also good in spite of the limited screen time. Diljit Dosanjh is so charming as the customs officer smitten with Kriti Sanon's character. KapiI Sharma as Tabu's husband spreads so much warmth. Khulbushan Kharbanda is also solid as Kareena's grandfather.

Does what it sets out to do!

I would give it 6.5 stars if that option were available.

The trailers of "Crew" clearly indicate that the movie is a light-hearted, low-stakes film perfect for streaming. It fully delivers on that promise and is refreshing as a female-led multi-starrer produced in India.

The three leads, Tabu, Kareena, and Kriti, all play their parts well and complement each other beautifully. The characters are well-defined, and their motivations are clearly established.

While the climax is overly simplistic, it aligns with the film's light-hearted nature and short run-time. Overall, it's an entertaining one-time watch and stands out as one of the better offerings on Netflix India.

My only gripe with the movie is the costumes. It feels as if the leads have been intentionally hyper-sexualized, at least from the perspective of the Indian moviegoer. However, the costumes and dialogues never become crass or vulgar. The actresses exude class and charm, with just the right amount of oomph (which is always a plus).

Recommended 👍🏼 by Hit Ya Flop - Movie World

Crew is a lighthearted heist comedy that promises an enjoyable ride filled with laughter. Directed by Rajesh Krishnan, the film boasts a talented ensemble cast and an entertaining storyline that keeps audiences engaged. The screenplay keeps the momentum going, aided by good editing that ensures a seamless flow of events. Dialogues are good, although there's a missed opportunity for more humor to be injected into the script. While the story presents ample opportunities for comedic moments, the humor feels somewhat limited in the film.

Special mention must be made of the cinematography and soundtrack of "Crew," which contribute significantly to the film's overall appeal. The first half of the film takes off with a good pace, delivering laughs and building anticipation effectively. However, the second half suffers from rushed writing, with scenes appearing hurried to conclude the film within a specific time frame. Despite this, the movie maintains a balance between humor and a slightly serious tone in the latter half.

One of the highlights of the movie is its stellar cast. Tabu, Kareena Kapoor Khan & Kriti Sanon delivered confident impressive performances and they created a riot together on screen. Diljit Dosanjh and Rajesh Sharma deliver decent performances, while Trupti Khamkar shines with her hilarious portrayal. However, Saswata Chatterjee has little to offer, and Kapil Sharma's special appearance is just passable.

Overall, Crew is an enjoyable heist comedy that delivers laughs and entertainment, albeit with some missed opportunities for greater humor. With its talented cast and vibrant presentation, "Crew" is worth a watch for those needing a good laugh.

great mix of comedy and drama

The story is engaging, filled with witty dialogues and unexpected twists. The plot cleverly balances humor and emotion, although some scenes could have been tighter. The script's strength lies in its character-driven narrative, which keeps you hooked till the end.

The cast also does a commendable job. It's fun and engaging watch that keeps you entertained throughout. The humor is sharp. It's a movie that makes you laugh, think, and empathize with the characters. However, a few pacing issues and predictable plot. It is a great mix of comedy and drama, making it a perfect watch for those looking for a light-hearted movie experience.

Worst movie i watched ever

I am regretting my decision after watching this movie this movie has no story, no comedy, no suspense, this movie has nothing good. I seen IMDb rating of 9:00 and got fooled by its rating. I think it has very good rating because it is just released. But I am telling that this movie has nothing good. I was too cold watching this movie this movie is supposed to be funny but I didn't smile for once watching this movie. I was watching this movie with my family my whole family has seen bad experience. Don't spend your money on this movie this movie is not worth it. The story is so bad I don't have any words to say.

Grt camaraderie between the 3 female leads ! Decent one time watch

Film Review: Crew currently screening in theatres ( watch later when it streams on Netflix, the OTT streaming partner)

3 airhostesses - Tabu , Kareena & Kriti who fall into bad times have to resort to smuggling gold for a dubious person. After nearly getting caught, they turn over a new leaf , plan a heist ,get the stolen gold back and also get the bad guy in the end !!

Saying this in jest ... This film is ABT how India got "Vijay Malya" back in an alternate universe 😁😁!! The ladies make it seem so easy !!

Coming to the Positives : Great cast , the 3 leading ladies rock . Chemistry between the trio is really the USP of the film. Reminds u of the camaraderie between the 4 heroines in "Veere Di Wedding" which also was an out and out woman centric film. Rajesh Sharma is brilliant, Diljeet Dosanjh & Kapil Sharma do well in their small roles.

The film is very easy going with something or the other happening continuously. Not boring at all!! There are some good one-liners which are funny , but definitely less funny than what u saw in Veere Di Wedding!! The two remixes - Choli ke peeche & Sona kitna Sona hai are integrated seamlessly in the narrative and are are presented aesthetically!!

Downer : the script in the second half of the film cudve focussed more on the intricacies involved in planning the heist The robbery looks a bit rushed with no tense moments which definitely wudve provided the viewers with a better sense of fulfillment ( something that we saw in BABY !!)

All in all, a decently made crime comedy film which is also the first woman centric film in this genre !!

Don't try to search for logic and u might actually end up enjoying it !!

Going with 3/5 for this one ... Adios 🙂!!

Cute!

A cute and fun chick flick to watch with the girlies, just in time for the start of summer. Kareena is getting better with age. She's done a good job of transitioning from her ott acting in the earlier 2000s into some more subtle acting. Kriti was funny. Tabu has signed some really good roles in that stage of career and it's good to see her doing something a little more commercial for a change. The plot was a little bit dull and predictable. The movie was missing some punch, not sure what ? The songs were good and the locales were beautiful. I probably wont watch this again but i did enjoy it.

This Crew Needed A Better Flight To Fly

Crew (2024) : Movie Review:

This Crew Needed A Better Flight To Fly

Crew Review: Rajesh Krishnan surprised everyone with Tripling and Lootcase, and so the expectations were similar or higher from Crew. With three gorgeous ladies in the lead and never-seen-before aerial heist drama, this Kareena Kapoor, Tabu, and Kriti Sanon starrer was expected to fly high and even took off on a decent note, but unfortunately, the flight couldn't land safely. There was some unrepairable turbulence in the second half that took this exciting heist comedy down. A few comic punches worked because of adult humour and urban touches, but were they enough? Frankly, no, but they do pass on some good laughs. This Crew needed a better pilot, better training, and better study material than what it has to fly high. Let's say, air traffic jammed it.

So, Crew can be called a wannabe parody of Vijay Mallya's scam, as here we have Vijay Waliya (Saswata Chatterjee), the owner of Kohinoor Airliner. We have three super hot air hostesses: Divya Rana (Kriti Sanon), Jasmin (Kareena Kapoor), and Geeta Sethi (Tabu), who are not getting paid enough and are struggling to get a respectable income. After trying all the right and honest ways of life, these three finally decide to join the dishonest gang at once by smuggling gold from India to the Middle East. Sooner or later, they were supposed to get caught, but what happens when they are looted by a rich man? These three must gang up to get what was "ours," even though you have to turn a plain comedy into a heist comedy for that.

Nidhi Mehra and Mehul Suri's Crew has a decent first half, but things crash down heavily in the second half. Parodying Vijay Mallya and his scam was okay; it was somewhat funny, but trying to capture him and seize gold was too much. The concept goes terribly wrong, and there are reasons for it. In the first half, you relate to the story because you can feel the struggle of those three ladies and their friends (crew members). However, the second half is not about them, so you lose all the connection and all the interest in the story.

It's okay to take inspiration from The Italian Job and Oceans Eleven, but you don't have to drag those ideas into your fictional parody world by saying that it's all done for society's sake. The second half of Crew is full of loopholes. More holes (windows) than any plane can have. Nidhi and Mehul's sarcastic attempt at urban comedy is praiseworthy, but the comical sense was cheap. Nobody cares what's happening in the personal lives of those three ladies because they haven't had an inspiring or stable life. For instance, Divya (Kriti Sanon) is a topper, a sports champion, and always ready to fight the wrongs. She scares the hell outta referee for his wrong decision-that's more like it. But what happens to this smart, intelligent, and honest girl in the very next moment when she has quick sex with a stranger without any hi, hello, or even a formal introduction (forget love)? I never saw a dead man having a boner after death (almost after 10 minutes). You can't be serious, man. This is some next-level crap.

I must say, Crew has plenty of glamour. Tabu hasn't been doing glamorous roles lately, except for De De Pyaar De, but here, she gets a complete new makeover. What a sexy makeover she has got here! The best and most aggressive dialogues also go into her kitty. Kriti Sanon is "Kali" (bud). She is young, dashing, and sexy, and she looks damn confident as an air hostess. Kareena gets into her Bebo mode again. Only this time around, you have to see her antagonising a few things. But then, she also has a few emotional scenes. Trupti Khamkar has done a fantastic job and will surely get your appreciation. Rajesh Sharma was a bit irritating in some scenes with those fake laughter and expressions, and the same goes for Saswata Chatterjee. I never could have imagined these two senior actors being wasted like this. Kapil Sharma had a sensible role, but with low screen time. Diljit Dosanjh has a somewhat interesting role, which isn't elevated well enough.

Anil Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor have spent a nice budget on the lavish scale and look of the film. The costumes are exquisite, the locations are gorgeous, and the production design looks beautiful. Anuj Rakesh Dhawan's close-up shots of the three leading ladies are stimulating, but sometimes they expose the make-up they are wearing. That's scary. The music is tappy, as "Choli," "Naina," and "Ghagra" set the party mood right. Rajesh Krishnan's direction skills see a dip in quality compared to what he has done in Lootcase and Tripling, but more than him, it's the script that deserves to be blamed. Krishnan's over-the-top jokes can still take multiplex audiences on a roll, but they may not get enough support from the masses. Crew is a little screwed-actually very much screwed-in the second half, but there are some scenes that give you a little pleasure of new-age female-driven comedy. The rest of the show is strictly below average, and no oxygen mask can save you from that.

a truly delightful watch

The crew is a perfect example of how female led comedies can rule the box offices and the critics reviews.

I personally loved the script the jokes generated a lot of laughter and a mirth-filled atmosphere was created in the theatre from the funny jokes cracked. Tabus acting and comic timing was truly unparalleled her jokes take us back to the 2000's era where the light hearted comedies would rule the box offices. In addition to that kareenas performance is also very commendable, some might suggest that her acting is a bit over the top but i felt it was justified in each moment as the film genuinely demanded such acting , kriti sanon also shines in moments.

Lastly my favourite scene would be the one where tabu says "plane challlaaaaa" to kriti to persuade her to fly the plane 😂

Formulaic but fun

A formulaic but fun heist film. The three roles of the air hostesses from different backgrounds were tailor-made for these three stunning actresses and all of them showed why they are the stars that they are. The film had a lot of ridiculousness but the two-hour running time made sure everything went swiftly so we didn't stay on anything for too long. For all the "Vijay Vallya" character and parallels to the real events and the way the film tries to make it look like they are making these people pay, they also made sure to show that at the end of the day, even this film is just a corporate product to appease the people so nothing like this happens in reality by filling every single scene with product placements. If they were gonna use this much product placement, they could have at least not made it look like they are trying to take a stand against someone and such actions. These people would attend the parties hosted by those people abroad and joke about how this movie fooled people. But all that is not really about the movie which was always supposed to be just a fun caper and nothing more. But it could have certainly been better than this.

Could have a lot better.

An entertainer and therefore a 'leave your brains at home' type of movie - but refreshing because you don't see over the hill male superstars trying to retain their youth and receding airlines. This is with women and three lovely women, all wonderfully talented in their own special way.

Negatives: Weak storyline Terrible editing Lots of loose ends Implausible situations Terrible CGI effects Sad to see Kulbushan Kharbanda reduced to a miniscule character role.

Positives: Lead actresses perform well - not path breaking but they are all having a good time and the fun is infectious.

Diljit (wish he was more on screen) Above average locations Some good tongue in cheek one liners - elicit some good chuckles

Not a classic, but definitely a fun watch.

Watch it for the lead actors!

Crew fits right into the comedy genre of films with signature bright colors, dazzling lighting, one-liners, melodramatic sequences that Balaji Telefilms Productions is known for. However, the film is far from balanced in these elements. The movie goes at a brisk pace and yet the screenplay isn't designed to keep the viewer hooked as it lays the inevitable in front of us. The film demands the viewer to suspend their disbelief as too many convenient happy accidents carry the script forward. The non-linear narrative is simplified and flows well.

The direction is genuinely good at times. Rajesh Krishnan's slapstick comedy lands well but the limitations of the writing do hold him back. What saves the film is its leading actors. Tabu is fantastic in the film. She brings her A game in acting provides the comedy a nuance that the film needed. Kareena Kapoor's charm works as well as Tabu's subtle approach. Kriti portrays her character's naivety and overachiever complex with finesse.

Bonus points for not being didactic about feminism for the cast itself does a fantastic job at portraying it for everyone to see. To the unionisation of the middle class!

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!

This film is nothing but a pure lullaby. From the moment the movie had started i was feeling sleepy till the end. Everything is revolving around the three main casts. Rest of the actors have non existent roles. Don't spend your money to watch this bizarre movie. It will soon be available on Netflix.

I don't know what the makers in Bollywood are smoking but it seems like they are so high that they forgot how to make good films. The 2000-2015 were the good years for the movies, now it's just a competition among them for making the worst of the worst.

I SINCERELY REQUEST YOU TO NOT WATCH THE FILM, IT'S NOT WORTH IT.

I won't get my refund for this bizarre movie.

An overall one-time watch movie

I had lot of expectations with this film. But it really did not surpass my expectations. The first half of the film was going well, with the flashbacks and present time and also their personal life and problems. But the second half is really done in a very hurried way. There was almost no edge-of-the-seat moment which I expected as it promised to be a heist thriller film. The three leading stars' performances would be one of the positive points which kept me engaged throughout the film. Tabu, Kriti, Kareena - they were the best parts of the entire movie. Their bonding and friendship also landed properly. Other casts like Kapil Sharma, Diljit Dosanjh and Saswata Chattopadhyay had nothing much to do. Some of the comedy scenes worked well and some did not mainly due to censor case

Overall, watch this film for these 3 - Tabu, Kriti, Kareena. They will keep you hooked.

amazing crew

It belongs to a variety of feel-good cinema where characters exude lip-smacking affluence even in distress. Riding on the casting coup of the year, director Rajesh Krishnan burnishes the shenanigans of the upper middle class to fuel the aspiration of the Instagram generation with manicured emotions. Alternating between risky and risqué, the light-weight entertainer is keen on showcasing that new-age women can wine and whine as much as rich boys. After a series of air adventures that were high on testosterone, this time it is the girls who are dressed up to steal the show.
