Contorted

If you like movies with lots of jumpscares, this movie is perfect for those of you who want to feel the tension over and over again from start to finish. Be prepared you will hold your breath and close your eyes In terms of storyline, there are many films that tell the story of a family who moves to a new house, is haunted, and experiences terror throughout the story. Unfortunately, along the storyline of this film, there are still scenes that are still awkward and don't make sense. And some places in the incident are not explained further, and leave a lot of mystery But the acting of the characters in this film is very good and deep. Finally, this film is suitable to watch in October with your family. Enjoy watching.

I thought it was very tense at moments, and the acting was really good. The story was really interesting too, it had a little bit more to it than a regular haunted house story. It was much creepier too. I thought the acting of the female lead especially sold it.

Although I felt the ending was a bit much with house intense the rest of the film is. The relief was needed for me to get the full enjoyment of the rest of the story.

I know the budget wasn't the highest, but overall I think they did very well with it. And I think the story was good enough that you don't mind. Even with the couple of holes here and there.

South Korean cinema is one of my favourites, definitely the best Asian country to make good movies. Despite this one having a low rating I gave it a shot but the low ratings were deserved. It's not that great. The idea is there but the low budget is clearly visible. A horror movie needs a good soundtrack and scary moments but besides a couple jump scares (not even that great) there was none of that in this movie. Contorted could have been much better. The acting wasn't awful, but with good acting alone you're not guaranteed to make a good movie. It's been awhile since I was disappointed by a South Korean movie.

I really, really liked the ideas for this film from the mother's struggle with resentment of being a wife and mother, to mixed feelings about her adopted daughter, and wondering how much is in her head and how much is supernatural.

The mystery with the CEO and the family that lived in the house prior is also intriguing.

But the budget is SO LOW it looks like a soap opera. You almost have to be a Korea-phile or a hardcore lover of Korean cinema to get past it. I'm really picky about atmosphere so unfortunately I couldn't just stop noticing it.

I do watch quite a number of Korean films though so I stuck with it. I wouldn't blame other people for not doing so, no matter how interesting the story might be.
