Axel Byvang is having a shave when he hears a women asks to have her hair done for her son's confirmation. After the woman leaves, Axel finds an ad looking investors for electric curler invention.

Axel signs up for the year's largest beauty fair in Copenhagen, where he will demonstrate Curlers.Tove, is worried about the amount of money he is throwing into the project. Meanwhile, Birthe has a crisis at home.

Axel has hit rock bottom. Frans tries to bring Axel out of his despair and persuades him that they should go door to door together to sell the few functioning curlers. Birthe gets a job as a clerk in the TV store.

Factory construction for Carmen Curlers is underway. The rival Poul puts a stop to the factory construction, But to keep things moving. Axel must pull some strings to sign a large order and get his curlers in stores for Christmas.

The bank has decided to loan another million to Axel. Birthe has the responsibility task of hiring factory staffs. Axel and Frans have promised Lundahl an advertising campaign in four days. Jorgen is feeling hopeless.

The Carmen Curler factory exudes life. Everyone is busy and the hallways are like a train station but Frans has never felt so alone. He accepts a job from the photographer Benjamin and will do the hair of the French film star Jacqueline.

On Christmas Eve Axel decides to win Tove back, but she has other plans. Birthe celebrates Christmas with her family and discovers Jorgen has spent most of their money.

Axel and Frans are hugely successful in Paris and return home with an order for 10,000 curler sets. The order must be delivered within 14 days, which puts the Carmen ladies under tremendous pressure. Jørgen gets good news from the doctor, so Birthe can now finally return to life on the farm. Axel is convinced that they can manage to deliver the order if everyone works overtime at the factory, but the women do not agree and announce a strike. Axel is under more pressure than ever, and must seek help from Birthe.
