Not As Good As The Original!

This movie did get good reviews on the Internet, but personally, I have my own feeling about this unusual sequel. I did like the part where he grew those pink wings in his mobile home, though. The movie had okay effects, but they just didn't turn out the way I thought they were going to. I did enjoy the movie, but it just didn't suit me like the first one did. I wonder if they'll make a prequel called Tooth Fairy 3? Who knows what people do these days. I saw the movie in the mall and decided to blow my money on this unusual motion picture. The way I see it, movies don't always turn out the way they should. Sometimes I buy DVDs and Bluray movies on Amazon.com or even eBay, and then I see it and say either Wow, that movie was amazing or that film needs work! I occasionally preorder DVDs Books or CDs that I know will be popular. I do like Daedaulus DVDs, as I like other ordering catalogs, like Oriental Trading, and ordering sites, like Amazon (My Favorite) and eBay (my other favorite). Amazon has amazing prices for their DVDs and great prices when it comes to Preordering. That's how I retold my version of "Motion Pictures"!

Tooth Fairy 2: Better than you'd expect, but you'd expect pretty bad

Before taking over from Arnie in Jingle All The Way 2 (2014) Larry The Cable Guy did another straight to dvd cash grab with Tooth Fairy 2.

Taking over from the Rock he plays.................well basically like every single movie he just plays himself. Nobody could ever accuse the guy of being a broad actor! He accidentally tells a child that the tooth fairy isn't real and gets forced into doing tooth fairy duty for a week. To make matters worse his ex-girlfriend is getting married and he's determined to win her back.

You'd assume this would be dire but truth be told it's actually on par with the original. I'd personally have liked to see Stephen Merchant return but I guess the lower budget didn't allow it.

Family "Fun" full of plenty of silly laughs and some of them surprisingly hit the mark. I even laughed at a fart joke out loud, and hated myself for doing so.

Despite his limitations Larry is a likeable enough character and does a decent job here with the hit and miss script. Sure it's daft, but what in the blue hell do you expect from something like this?

    The Good:

A few laughs are to be had

    The Bad:

    Excessively silly in places

    Ending felt rushed

    Mr. Nanny Returns

Hey! I was told I didn't need to see part 1 before seeing part 2, but part 1 has The Rock, Ashley Judd and Julie Andrews (?!) And this one has the single biggest reason Cars 2 is the all-time WORST Pixar movie.

Eh. It's harmless. I'm shocked it was rated PG and not G. This is absolutely meant for the under 5 crowd...which is why I awarded this movie 5/10. It's perfect for that age group.

Not to mention, it's good this WASN'T an adult-version of the fairy tale. It would be A LOT creepier with this enormously hairy and dirty middle-aged man sneaking into kid's rooms at night - not to mention randomly hugging and kissing random kids unrelated to him. Also, there would be SO MANY scenes of homophobia, I would've demanded my rental price back.

Larry the Cable Guy does no cable work here but he does turn into the title character because he inadvertently made a child not believe in the Tooth Fairy. Meanwhile, he's trying to mature to win back his ex from the film's mustache-twirling villain.

Admittedly, I am NOOOO Larry the Cable Guy fan, nor any of his redneck brethren but he did fine here for the material given to him (and again for the age demographic.) I will say, they really needed to avoid any closeups of his disgustingly dirty hands and so much body hair. The rest of the cast is fine, though I really didn't like the character he's wooing. Larry had the chance to win a brand-new car, but to do so may have caused the couple to be a few minutes late to a 1-year-old's birthday party. The kid can wait, for Pete's sake. Also didn't help they had ZERO chemistry.

There are MANY plot holes and inconsistences, granted. Still, it's a toddler movie, so maybe it wouldn't matter to the kids? Actually, I don't agree with that. The script did need just one more re-write and then the parents wouldn't have to explain to their kids why so flaws were obvious.

Again, it's sitcom, Rated-G humor and I'm sure toddlers will find this very amusing. Heck, I even laughed a couple of times. Reminded me so much of the love I had for Ernest P. Worrell and his first four movies when I was a kid.

    ***

Final Thoughts: And talk about true love. This movie and its original always flew under the radar for me. Not my type of movies I suppose. But my love asked me to watch this for the message. Now, I'm still trying to find the message... Just kidding! It's about chicken and if you eat enough of it, you'll turn into a fairy. Well, Tooth Fairy, anyways. I think that's the morale. Or dilemma. What did I just watch?

    Surprisingly Enjoyable

I was looking for a funny, undemanding movie; something that would cheer up someone recovering from an illness, for instance. "Tooth Fairy 2" fits the bill. I am not a huge fan of Larry the Cable Guy, but he does a nice job here working as a "temp" tooth fairy. He winds up drenched in pink (not his favorite color) but manages to graduate from a tutu to overalls. The pink baseball cap is a nice touch.

Not only does Larry have a tight deadline to meet with regards to collecting teeth, but he has to win his girlfriend back and convince a kid to believe in the Tooth Fairy again. Does he accomplish all this? Let's just say everything ends happily. This isn't Citizen Kane, but if you're in the mood for it this movie is a lot of fun. Recommended.

Dad gum! This is the best movie ever! Read more to find out why...

DAD GUM. This movie is like a live action Cars 2 with newfangled jokes from that Cable the Larry Guy. Definitely a must watch. Probably. Great for the whole family I guess.
