Ethan Coen and Tricia Cooke shared directorial duties, but they never proposed to the Director's Guild of America to recognize them both as directors because the guild can be weird about acknowledging that. For that same reason, his brother Joel Coen used to be credited as the director on all their co-directed movies until El quinteto de la muerte (2004), and Ethan as producer. Since Ethan was already a DGA member, he was credited as the official director of Drive-Away Dolls, with Cooke given a producer's credit.
