Perfetta illusione

I'm not the biggest fan of artistic effects like camera fading in and out, but here, the playful use of focus between sequences works wonders, especially when paired with the classical music score. The vibe of this movie is truly unique.

The unpredictable story, coupled with the tension-filled casting, keeps you watching without realizing the movie is 89 minutes long-it feels like just 10 minutes have passed. That's always a fantastic indicator of how captivating the film truly is. A must-watch for those who appreciate a blend of artistry and storytelling.

This movie appeals to both men and women. It carries a subtle erotic charge that makes it particularly enjoyable for couples to watch together.

I know it is supposed to be war and "is it good for" ... but for the sake of making a pun (that as always is not intended - wink wink and all that) ... let this one slide. Which our main character seems to not have any awareness of. We are on his side when he loses his job (quite early on) ... and I reckon most will be happy with what opportunity that opens up for him.

But what he does and how he treats the people around him ... makes you wonder if maybe it was right he was without a job ... and maybe it should have stayed that way. It will be quite hard to understand his motivations ... he is flawed to say the least ... and those who love him will suffer for that ... I guess intriguing to a fault (or multiple faults) ... depending if you buy into the whole philosophical viewpoint ... and if you can see one in the movie overall ...

Really enjoyed the plot, would have loved to see more intensity and love towards the end.

The story followed Toni as he moved careers and found somebody who believed in him, but also had a connection with him.

He seized the opportunity to progress his career and see where it took him.

With Toni's partners career also leading it's own path, they never really had a common goal.

It was intense to see how Toni grew close to his colleague in the new career, who helped him launch something that he wanted for a long time.

Feeling happy at last, life felt him an almost final blow, which he embraced to help everybody.

I felt sorry for Toni in the way things worked out, I think he deserved that intense love which he touched.

I enjoyed the movie and was left wanting more intensity, and love towards the end.

Toni and Paola are a happily married couple, or so it seems at the beginning. Their main aim is to improve their financial situation, as Paola wants to open an elegant boutique in the city. This starts creating a great sense of frustration in Tony, who has given up his real passion, painting. When he meets Chiara, a rich art expert who admires his work, Tony cannot deal with his private life and his passion anymore, and everything starts falling apart.

Perfetta Illusione shows us various dichotomies: Milan as the capital of fashion, art and luxury, but also a city that hides grim outskirts. The dichotomy of art, which is supposed to be a means of communication, but is often used as a mere means of production. Love takes double forms too, as a form of expression and repression.

I enjoyed the main message of the film, which is the fact that we are often misled by our desires to succeed. The protagonist is disappointing as a person, but he's also the real and only hero, true to what really makes sense to him: art. The other characters show us how mediocre and despicable greed is.
