Sukhee is a delightful slice-of-life film that intricately weaves humor, emotions, and relatable characters into the fabric of its narrative. The story revolves around Sukhpreet "Sukhee" Kalra, brilliantly portrayed by Shilpa Shetty Kundra, who embarks on a journey of self-discovery after growing tired of her monotonous routine.
The standout feature of Sukhee is the exceptional chemistry among the friends, particularly the characters played by Amit Sadh and Kusha Kapila. Amit Sadh's Vikram Verma adds depth to the storyline, while Kusha Kapila's Meher Chhibber injects the perfect dose of humor. The ensemble cast delivers commendable performances, creating a believable and engaging world.
The film beautifully captures the struggles of a housewife, shedding light on the challenges Sukhee faces in her everyday life. The portrayal of Sukhee's relationship with her grandfather, played by Vinod Nagpal, is heartwarming and adds a layer of emotional resonance to the narrative. The unconditional support provided by Sukhee's grandfather is a testament to the strength of familial bonds.
Sukhee's journey unfolds over seven days during her high school reunion in Delhi, allowing for a unique blend of nostalgia and self-discovery. Shilpa Shetty Kundra effortlessly carries the film, portraying Sukhee's transformation from a wife and mother to a woman rediscovering herself.
While the film successfully captures the essence of Sukhee's rejuvenation, it occasionally falters in pacing, with certain scenes feeling a bit rushed. Additionally, some subplots could have been further explored to enhance the overall depth of the storyline.
In conclusion, Sukhee is a refreshing take on the challenges faced by women, blending humor and heart in a captivating manner. The stellar performances make it a worthwhile watch. Despite minor pacing issues, Sukhee succeeds in delivering a poignant message about self-discovery and the importance of embracing one's true identity.

I just couldn't bear this movie after 20 mins! Is the definition of an independent and happy woman is smoking cigarette (as shown in the movie)??!! Calling a Bengali lady and her kid as "Khadus Bangalan"??!!! I mean really??? Tired of seeing Women in every single movie and web series smoking, drinking and what not in the name of "Freedom"!!!! If a woman takes care of her house so does a Man by earning money he also deals with the world every single day!! So BIG DEAL!!! On the basis of what I saw in first 20-25 mins, calling a Bengali lady kadus, is just so wrong!! Just so done with Bollywood!!!
The Film 'Sukhee ' Promised Mild Entertainment By It's Trailer but when looked Outside The Trailer It Was Quiet Not What You Thought
In Terms Of Acting Shilpa Was Below Average And Others Were Also Lost The Dialogue's Felt Forced
The Chemistry Between The Characters Was to cold And Was not fun seeing A Time Conserving Duration of 2 Hr And 18 Min It still Feels Long Enough , One Song Great But Presentation In the film Was to lazy that spoilt The Fun It
Gave Strong Enough Message To Be Motivated But Does Not Feels Like A Others Films Like English Vinglish,Queen etc But is must One Time watch Fun.
"Sukhee" and "Romy and Michele's High School Reunion" both revolve around the central theme of revisiting the past and redefining oneself. In both movies, the main characters attend their high school reunions, which act as catalysts for self-discovery and transformation. Sukhee, a housewife, and Romy and Michele, long-time friends, confront their pasts and the dissatisfaction with their current lives during these reunions. The experiences at these reunions allow them to rediscover aspects of themselves that were lost or forgotten over time, leading to significant personal growth and change. While Sukhee's journey is more about rediscovering her individuality beyond her roles as a wife and mother, Romy and Michele's adventure focuses on confronting their insecurities and the desire to impress others. Both stories highlight the impact of reconnecting with one's past and the importance of self-acceptance.
Not since Life in a Metro have we been able to catch a glimpse of Shilpa's superb acting skills. She should really consider returning to movies full-time and doing more meaty roles. She certainly has the acting chops for it.
Yes, it's a well-written, family comedy movie. Everyone's acting is up-to-par. The down-to-earth, everyday, comedic dialogues and the 4 best friends' banter feels really natural and well-written (there may even be some improv/ ad-lib bits, I'm not sure). Kausha Kapila, in particular, shines here. Though, it does get a bit preachy in the end, but kudos to the director for pulling everyone and everything together seamlessly. The star of the movie was, without a doubt, Shilpa Shetty. Take a bow, queen. A worthy come-back indeed!
