Could a major Star Trek star return to the franchise in a bold take and revive his character? It could happen!
Star Trek fans can have a divisive reaction to Enterprise. The 2001-2005 series had a unique setup, taking place in the early days of Starfleet before the Federation was formally created. It was an intriguing take on the first Enterprise under the command of Captain Jonathan Archer, played by TV veteran Scott Bakula.
The show had its ups and downs, often accused of shoehorning in bits of Trek stuff like Ferengi and the Borg, despite how that conflicted with canon. It did have a good cast and some thrills. It’s sadly overshadowed by its series finale, a terribly done holodeck episode that pretty much shunted the main character aside to focus on Riker (Jonathan Frakes).

A veteran Star Trekwriter has an idea for the return of one particular Starfleet Captain, and it involves the Mirror Universe. It’s been 20 years since fans said goodbye to the crew of the Nx-01 and its beloved leader, Captain Jonathan Archer, and Star Trek: Enterprise writer/producer Michael Sussman has plans for a show that could unite Star Trek fans.
Speaking with TrekMovie, Sussman, who wrote 22 episodes of Star Trek: Enterprise and 10 episodes of Star Trek: Voyager, said he’s been talking with Scott Bakula about making his return to the Star Trek universe over the years. Bakula played the captain of the Enterprise (Nx-01) in Star Trek: Enterprise during its entire four-season run from 2001 to 2005. The Nx-01 is one of the most important starships in all of Star Trek, which was later redesigned into the USS Enterprise. In turn, Archer was the first-ever commanding officer of the first...

Bryan Cranston won four Emmys for playing a power-hungry drug kingpin on AMC's landmark drama series Breaking Bad. But when he's not masquerading as the ruthless "one who knocks," the actor also enjoys showing off his comedic side.
Two decades ago, he received a trio of Emmy nominations for his role as Hal, the carefree husband and father on Malcolm in the Middle. He also earned laughs playing dentist Tim Whatley on Seinfeld, therapist Dr. Templeton on Curb Your Enthusiasm, and a heightened version of himself on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
Now, he's yucking it up as The Studio's Griffin Mill, the outlandish CEO of Continental Studios, who's never met a psychedelic mushroom he didn't like. Paramount has been in the news a fair bit recently, for good reasons and, mostly, bad (for nerds who like boring stuff like free speech and political independence or whatever). But uh ... they did put a lot of Showtime content on Paramount+. That kinda makes up for it all, right?
The concerning and confounding decisions of the network's parent company aside, Showtime has long been the under-sung hero of prestige TV and the golden age of television at large. Would there be any shows with psychopathic, murderous protagonists without the success of "Dexter?" Would the political thriller subgenre be complete without "Homeland?" And is there a family drama so perfectly and relatably balanced between humor and heartbreak as "Shameless?" Unfortunately, you can't watch everything Showtime has produced on Paramount+ as of writing -- that said, of the shows available, these are the 15 most deserving of a rewatch.

Aboutboul died after collapsing on HaBonim Beach near Tel Aviv on Tuesday morning, his manager Mark Teitelbaum told The Hollywood Reporter.

As you might imagine, his family is in shock. He will be deeply missed. May his memory be a blessing.”

After a shocking twist to end Season 3, Episode 6, The Gilded Age star Ben Ahlers addressed whether he and his Jack character will be leaving the hit HBO period drama. Ahlers' Jack first came onto the scene as the footman of the Van Rhijns (led by Blake Ritson's Oscar Van Rhijn), serving as key hired help for one of the show's central New York families. However, Jack's fortunes changed in the show's most recent season, as Ahlers' character took his future into his own hands with a clever new invention.
Jack's story came to a head in Season 3, Episode 6 (subtitled "If You Want to Cook an Omelette"). After selling his clock invention for a lofty sum of $300,000 in Episode 4, a total that in 2025 dollars would be over $9.5 million, Jack was pushed from the Van Rhijn house. This left the character and the actor's future on the series somewhat in question.

The early days of Pedro Pascal's career are marked by brief but memorable guest roles. You can glimpse him in one-off episodes of shows like "Homeland," "The Good Wife," and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." But it wasn't until 2014 that Pascal got his breakout role as Oberyn Martell in HBO's "Game of Thrones," quickly endearing the fanbase with the character's sass and determination to turn the tide in his favor. Although Martell's arc doesn't end in triumph, Pascal's career has skyrocketed ever since, transforming him into something of a global sensation. At this year's Emmys, The Pitt did quite well by scoring 13 nominations overall. Its star, Noah Wyle, is currently the frontrunner to win Best Drama Actor, according to the Gold Derby predictions. He previously earned five bids in supporting for his role as John Carter on ER, but never won. If he prevails this time, this would not only mark his very first Emmy, but he'd also be the 11th performer since 2000 to have triumphed in this particular category for a first-year show.
In The Pitt, Wyle plays Dr. Michael "Robby" Robinavitch, a senior attending physician who starts a grueling 15-hour shift at the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital's emergency room by welcoming four newcomers. Yet he struggles as he is still reeling from his traumatic experiences during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The following 10 Best Drama Actor champs since 2000 have been for first-year shows:

Timothée Chalamet has been on a historic run of late. The actor recently fronted a string of hit films that have propelled him to true movie star status, to the point that people will seemingly buy tickets to a film simply because it has the Chalamet factor. Sure, not everything the young actor has done has been successful. Some of the worst Chalamet movies include 2015's "Love the Coopers" and 2019's "A Rainy Day in New York," the latter arriving two years after Chalamet's breakthrough performance in the 2017 love story worth falling head over heels for, "Call Me By Your Name." But the actor's recent run of films have all performed extremely well.
After helping "Dune: Part Two" cross box office milestones with his performance as Paul Atreides, Chalamet played Bob Dylan in the Oscar-nominated biopic "A Complete Unknown," which garnered critical praise and saw the actor take on the...

Paradisestar Sterling K. Brown promises "a collision" between the series' main cast and the surface world above in Season 2.
Speaking to Deadline, Sterling K. Brown gave fans some great insight into the production of Season 2 of Hulu's hit political thriller, including a few promises of things to come when new episodes arrive some time next year. "The outside of the bunker gets explored, as well as what continues to happen inside the bunker with Xavier's absence," Brown stated. "There is a collision when the two worlds meet like: What has life been like outside? How has life changed inside? When those two worlds come into contact with one another, what kind of shamrocks and shenanigans can we get up to?"
Created by Dan Fogelman, best known for creating the hit drama series This Is Us which also starred Sterling K. Brown, Paradise is largely set within a sprawling, city-like bunker complex in Colorado.

As we await to celebrate 20 years of “Robot Chicken” with the upcoming “The Robot Chicken Self-Discovery Special,” TheWrap wants to turn back the clock to remember all the hilarious moments when “Robot Chicken” co-creator Seth Green, who famously voices “Family Guy” character Chris Griffin, took some heat from “Family Guy” creator Seth MacFarlane in the hit Fox series over the years.
A little friendly shade never hurt nobody, and for folks who are fans of both series, we were here for the crossover gags. And as much as “Family Guy” loved to take shots at the beloved Adult Swim series, let’s not act like we weren’t all staying up to watch those hilarious sketches.
From Peter and Chris Griffin’s battle over who had the better “Star Wars” parody to Stewie and Brian visiting the “Robot Chicken” universe, it truly couldn’t get any more meta than these hilarious disses below.

While Gerard Butler has become synonymous with high-octane action films, it's easy to forget that he was once a straight-up romantic heartthrob. It's just as easy to forget that even now, during what's considered to be the prime of his action-hero career, he occasionally headlines the odd kids' movie and espionage thriller. Not too long ago, he starred in Joe Carnahan's Copshop, a Tarantino-esque noir that barely made a noise in theaters. He also played the lead role in director Ric Roman Waugh's Kandahar, a spy thriller inspired by real events. The movie is climbing up the streaming charts two years after its theatrical release domestically.
Kandahar was released on Prime Video in several overseas markets, and is now available to stream on HBO Max in South America. Thanks to its recent release in those markets, it has jumped to the number three spot on HBO Max's global rankings,...

Exclusive: Season 7 of The Chi is putting up a strong performance on Showtime.
Sunday night’s mid-season episode managed 1.78M cross-platform viewers in just three days, making it one of the top episodes of the season, per Showtime. The episode was up 23% versus the season-to-date average of 1.45M viewers after three days.
Additionally, the episodes is the most-streamed in series history, Showtime says. The network didn’t share specific streaming numbers.
The Chi has been on a growth trajectory the entire season, scoring series’ best audience numbers since Season 7 premiered. The Season 7 debut had 2M cross-platform viewers in seven days and, at the time, was the most-streamed episode to-date. So, it’s quite a feat for the mid-season episode to garner nearly that entire audience in less than half the time.
The series was already renewed for Season 8, which is a strong indicator that parent company Paramount Global is happy with this performance.

Like Max before it, Paramount+ With Showtime is being rebranded with the name that it was originally rebranded to replace.
There must be something in the streaming air, as everything old is new again; at least when it comes to platform branding. In May, Warner Bros Discovery announced that it would be returning its flagship streaming service to its previous name, going from the vague Max to the more prestigious and specific HBO Max. Now, Paramount Global is doing the same thing, but in reverse. The company has started the process of rolling back the name of its streamer’s ad-free premium tier from the descriptive, yet cumbersome, Paramount+ With Showtime to its previous name, the more traditional Paramount+ Premium.

This summer, Dinosaurs rule the Earth.
With the global press tour getting underway today, Universal Pictures have debuted a brand new 90-second trailer that offers an extended look at two key sequences from the upcoming Gareth Edwards-directed dino sequel, specifically a terrifying sequence with the Mutadons and another look at that Spinosaurus encounter, which looks like it won't be going so well for one member of the cast...
Over the next two weeks, the global press tour will take the principal cast, including our new lead trio of Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Jonathan Bailey to London, Berlin, New York, Shanghai, and Seoul.
The London premiere is today, June 17, so be wary of spoilers as it's very possible they will start to surface online as early as tonight.
Universal has also debuted a new 16-bit game for the film, where you can also join the hunt for Dinosaur DNA!

Spoiler Warning: This article contains plot details, including some spoilers, for “Materialists,” playing in theaters now.
“Materialists,” Celine Song‘s new film, is anchored by a charming lead trio: Dakota Johnson as matchmaker Lucy, Pedro Pascal as wealthy bachelor Harry and Chris Evans as Lucy’s ex-boyfriend John. But the film opens up beyond those leads, as Lucy comes across a wide range of New Yorkers, each more eccentric than the other. Song makes each character memorable — no matter how briefly they are shown. The result is a strong and lively supporting cast made up of actors at the top of their game, who you’ll likely recognize from other roles.
And those actors are often New Yorkers in real life. That was intentional for the film’s casting director, Douglas Aibel, who also runs the New York theater company, Vineyard Theater. He wanted each actor to be “believably New York.

Conspiracies, political intrigue, and a lone agent who sets out not only to stop the bad guys but save the country. It's a tried-and-true formula, and maybe that's why "The Night Agent" has been such a big hit for Netflix (even though they almost turned it down). The series follows in the footsteps of many political thriller TV shows, as audiences partake in the journey of Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso), who becomes entangled in a far-reaching conspiracy about a mole within the United States government.
Fans reacted overwhelmingly positive to the series, with the first season remaining one of the most-watched Netflix seasons of all time. Season 2 didn't disappoint when it came out in 2025, garnering 13.9 million views within its first four days. All of this is to say that it's not too surprising that season 3 of "The Night Agent" is in the works. However, if you're looking for something similar...

Arnold Schwarzenegger is a legend. Of course, he is known for his action-oriented movies like Conan the Barbarian, The Terminator, Commando, Predator, True Lies, and more. But his comedic roles are equally famous. Jingle All the Way, Twins, Last Action Hero, and Kindergarten Cop are household favorites over here. I’ll even go so far as to say that his slightly experimental roles in End of Days and Sabotage are pretty amazing, in my opinion. But his decision to relive his glory days by starring in the The Expendables and the Terminator franchises has been pretty sad, as they clearly highlight the fact that the man is relying heavily on stunt doubles and CGI body doubles to do the bare minimum. The only thing that’s worse than his appearances in those film series is the Netflix TV show, Fubar. And if you thought that the first season was absolute trash,...
