Lovely animation but too short and simple

Came across this on YouTube today. I was pleasantly surprised at the animation, bringing the underwater world to life with lots of detail.

Unfortunately the story itself was a bit of a letdown, with a very simplistic and rushed sequence of events. The final showdown was very underwhelming even for a young children's' film. Some of the character designs also felt a bit stupid, and the voice acting of the seahorse made me cringe and didn't care if he met his demise. The songs and general vibe felt very sickly sweet, I realise I'm not the target audience but I've seen much better movies for the same age group. It generally made me cringe and won't be watching again despite the wonderful aesthetics.
