Nearly 800 Looney Tunes short films are now free to stream. Hundreds of the shorts were previously removed from HBO Max, which was met with poor reception, especially on top of Warner Bros.' controversial decision to shelve the Coyote vs. Acme movie starring Will Forte and John Cena.

The Coyote vs. Acme movie is now happening, with a 2026 theatrical release via Ketchup Entertainment, but there have still been questions about the future of the beloved animation franchise, especially when it comes to being able to stream content from previous years.

Now, 789 Looney Tunes short films can be streamed for free on Tubi. These shorts are part of Looney Tunes' increasingly large library on the ad-supported Tubi that also includes the 2010s The Looney Tunes Show, The Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries, and Tom and Jerry: Chuck Jones Collection.

Max almost wants nothing to do with the Looney Tunes brand these days, as most of t he franchise's content has been scrubbed from the streaming service. However, fans will be able to watch some of the removed Looney Tunes programming for free at its new streaming home.

This week, it was revealed that Max flushed 255 episodes of the original Looney Tunes cartoons, leaving very little left from the franchise still available to watch. This follows previous removals that had already been done with the Looney Tunes franchise months ago, which included some of the other classic episodes along with the two-season reboot, The Looney Tunes Show, which originally aired on Cartoon Network between 2011 and 2013. Taking away even more content cued Tubi to come in and help save the day.

If you want to scratch that Looney Tunes itch after it was reported that the show is no longer streaming on Max, then you're in luck. Two Looney Tunes TV shows have found a new streaming home on Tubi. They will be available on the streaming platform immediately in April, giving fans more opportunities to watch these iconic cartoon characters. The two shows that will be released on Tubi are 2011's The Looney Tunes Show, and 1995's The Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries. The Looney Tunes show was previously available on Max but was pulled along with other animated shows during the first week of 2025. Meanwhile, The Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries was pulled off the Warner Bros. Discovery-owned platform in 2021, along with other titles like New Looney Tunes.

Tubi, Fox’s free streaming service, has announced its list of April titles. The Tubi April 2025 slate features new Tubi Originals, TV series, and numerous action, art house, Black cinema, comedy, documentary, drama, horror, kids and family, sci-fi and fantasy, thriller and Western titles.

Coyote vs. Acme was set to be the first Looney Tunes film in theaters in over 20 years, but unfortunately, the movie has been canceled. The upcoming Looney Tunes movie, The Day The Earth Blew Up, promises a modern twist on classic characters facing mind-controlling aliens. Warner Bros may favor a simpler Looney Tunes movie over Coyote vs. Acme, aiming for an entertaining film without breaking the bank.

As the year winds down, it’s time to look back at Netflix’s biggest hits, and today, we begin by looking into what kids’ TV shows picked up the most points in the Netflix top 10s over the past 12 months.

This list is compiled using FlixPatrol data collected from the daily top 10s on Netflix from over 80 countries around the globe. They assign points and values to each title that gets featured on any day. Their data isn’t perfect as their method doesn’t quite fully capture the complexity of viewership data, such as total watch time, repeat viewings, or demographic details of the audience. Also worth noting is that Netflix changed up its top 10 metrics midway through the year to favor views over pure viewing hours. That said, their data provides a pretty accurate snapshot of what performed best over a long period.

Sufferin’ succotash! Warner Bros caused quite the stir online Monday evening when a false report said beloved Looney Tunes shorts would leave Max, the subscription-based streaming service. The error arrived as a part of the studio’s “What’s New on Max This December” press release, stating departures for classic Looney Tunes cartoons, The Looney Tunes Show, and Joe Dante’s 2003 live-action animated hybrid Looney Tunes: Back in Action.

“Looney Tunes was included in error as a title leaving the platform,” read the statement, shedding light on the status of the classic shorts. “This is not the case and the show will continue streaming on Max.”

Fans revolted when reports about the classic shorts leaving Max hit the internet. I was hosting an episode of the Talking Comics podcast when the story hit Twitter, and I ranted about the departure alongside my co-hosts. I’m sure that conversation will age well.

For close to a century, many generations have been able to enjoy the iconic cartoon series, Looney Tunes. A property of Warner Bros. Discovery, it had been announced that the company would be pulling Looney Tunes of its platforms. Set to get the axe were decades worth of classic Looney Tunes shorts, as well as The Looney Tunes Show, which had ran from 2011 to 2013, and a 2003 film. However, in a much appreciated turn of events, Warner Bros. Discovery have clarified that Looney Tunes shorts will not be leaving Max after all.

“Concrete Utopia,” South Korea’s Oscar contender, was Wednesday named best film at the country’s annual Grand Bell Awards. It also won prizes for best actor, best supporting actress, art direction, sound mixing and visual effects. A disaster movie set in a devastated Seoul, it makes an unusual Academy Awards selection, but has gained high praise from reviewers. Variety this week said the film felt like “’Earthquake’ crossed with ‘Lord of the Flies’.”

The Grand Bell’s best director award nevertheless went to Ryoo Seung-wan for “Smugglers,” while Ahn Tae-jin took the best new director award for “The Night Owl.”

In the other half of the event, Disney+’s “Moving” was named best series, earning Han Hyo-joo the best series actress award to boot.

Granny was introduced as a fairly straightforward character in the original Looney Tunes shorts, only to undergo a surprising evolution in the 21st century. Now recast as a far more capable character in modern adaptations, Granny has found a place at the heart of Acme Looniversity in Tiny Toons Looniversity. Notably, the show finds a way to meld her sweet side with the more proactive elements that have been increasingly afforded to the character.

The legendary “Looney Tunes” character’s current voice actor, Eric Bauza, won the award for “Outstanding Voice Performance in an Animated Program” at the 2022 Children’s & Family Emmys over the weekend.

The Filipino Canadian actor was not only recognized for his work as Bugs, who just celebrated 80 years, but also for portraying Marvin the Martian, Daffy Duck and Tweety in HBO Max’s “Looney Tunes Cartoons” series.

Bauza, 43, began his acceptance speech by honouring the man of 1,000 voices a.k.a. Mel Blanc, who was the original Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, and more on the O.G. “Looney Tunes Merrie Melodies” shorts during the Golden Age of Animation.

Hugh Davidson has signed an overall deal with Warner Bros. Animation.

Under the deal, Davidson will develop, write, and produce animated projects for Wba across all platforms. The deal also allows for him to develop live-action projects for Wbtv.

“I have been at Warner Bros Animation for 10 years which in entertainment business years is about 100 years, so we finally decided to ‘make it official,'” Davidson said.

The first project under the new deal is “Keeping Up with the Joneses,” which has received a presentation order from HBO Max. In the series, an aging matriarch scrambles to keep up appearances in her wealthy, judgmental Texas neighborhood.

Davidson most recently served as executive producer and showrunner of the adult animated series “Mike Tyson Mysteries,” which concluded its fourth season on Adult Swim earlier this year.

He most recently directed and voiced a handful of characters in Warner Bros. Animation’s Scooby-Doo pic Scoob, which became #1 on PVOD when Warner Bros. released it in May. It was recently moved over to HBO Max in June, where it still resides. The film is the latest take on the classic cartoon and marks one of many Scooby-Doo project he’s been involved over the years. Originally, the animated feature was set to have a theatrical release on May 15. The new Scooby-Doo animated movie will now debut via digital retailers in the U.S. and Canada on May 15. A 48-hour rental will go for $19.99, with the purchase price set at $24.99. It was revealed earlier this month that Will Forte had been set to voice Norville “Shaggy” Rogers, while Gina Rodriguez would be voicing Velma Dinkley. The mystery-solving teens and their talking Great Dane Scooby-Doo first appeared half a century ago on the animated TV series “Scooby-Doo: Where Are You?,” which was created by Hanna-Barbera and first aired in 1969.

Plot details of the movie involve the Scooby-Doo characters teaming up with other characters in the Hanna-Barbera universe to save the world from the evil Dick Dastardly.

Tony Cervone is directing “Scoob.” His credits include “Space Jam,” Cartoon Network’s “The Looney Tunes Show,” and “Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated.” Matt Lieberman (“Dr. Dolittle: Tail to the Chief”) wrote the screenplay.

Producers are Chris Columbus, Pam Coats, and Allison Abbate.

An all-new Scooby-Doo animated movie will be hitting theaters next year, and the project is nailing down its lead cast. Reportedly, Will Forte (The Last Man on Earth) has signed on to provide the voice of Shaggy. Having voiced Abraham Lincoln in The Lego Movie and its sequel, Forte is no stranger to voice acting. Melissa McCarthy is coming back to primetime TV for the upcoming comedy, Nobodies, and Et sat down with her -- along with the rest of the cast -- to find out what fans can expect.

Hugh Davidson (Robot Chicken), Larry Dorf (Mike Tyson Mysteries) and Rachel Ramras (The Looney Tunes Show) write and star in the series as three comedians determined to get their famous friend (McCarthy) attached to a feature script they have developed so that they, too, can rise to fame. McCarthy and her husband, Ben Falcone, serve as executive producers on the show alongside MADtv veteran Michael McDonald, who serves as showrunner. On Friday, Paramount debuted a new trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, which gave us another look at the villainous Krang, although there still isn't much we know about how he fits into the story at this point. During the studio's WonderCon panel, producers Bradley Fuller and Andrew Form revealed to the crowed that Krang will be voiced by none other than Fred Armisen. Bradley Fuller teased that "Anyone who loves Fred will love what he is doing," while Andrew Form hinted that we may see more of Krang in marketing materials soon.
