Probably the best Greek Production in the history of Modern Greece.

This series is not only a big budget, it is a huge enterprise artistically. It manages to combine excellent modern Direction with top notch photography and artistic Acting you can easily only find in Theatre. I heard it may be syndicated or made into a DVD with subtitles. It'd be excellent for the rest of the world to see what this Country can offer.

With an English writer offering Catharsis to the Characters it's also a first for Greece: A big story that doesn't end only in tears.

It will satisfy all ages, offering a range of characters from children to old people, it will reach the minorities in any society being sidelined.

how I can watch these episodes?

Just finished reading the novel " The island", and trying to find the full series to watch, but cannot find them, please help me. thank you and glad everyone enjoyed it !

A must see

An absolutely amazing work; fiercely emotional, gorgeously filmed, each character full of life.

I'm not going to say anything about the story, just watch it for yourself.

STILL THE BEST SERIES !!!

After so many years, I've seen the series four times and I have to say that it's a golden masterpiece! It's a shame to be a Greek and not have watched this artwork... If you are a person that does not know about greek actors, you have to know that all of them are famous and have oscar performances!

The director, Thodoris Papadoulakis, is the best director in Greece, and you 'll understand why in this series.

My favorite actress is Youlika Skafida, who plays Maria Petraki, and believe me when I say that she deserves an oscar!

Please, for your own good, go watch this series and you 'll never get disappointed!

Fav series of all time

My favorite series of all time. The cast, the quality, the place, the story, everything is perfect. Have seen it again and again while also I have read the book of Victoria Hislop. Definitely recommend it. Perfect capture of that time's culture and routine.
