I love a good "bad" indie horror film, but Catnado is just bad!
The DVD artwork itself is pretty cool! It looks like we're getting "Sharknado", but with cats. Unfortunately the movie itself doesn't remotely resemble the cover art.
It pains to give this movie such a low rating. I have typically enjoyed the Donald Farmer movies that I have seen, like I said I enjoy indie horror and I typically keep my expectations in check, but Catnado just doesn't have the elements that I typically enjoy in these types of movies. The cheesy special effects are there, but much of the humor falls flat and the movie just isn't interesting. I suppose breaking things up into 6-7 segments that are written and directed by 6-7 people is part of the issue.
Catnado just doesn't go anywhere. There isn't a strong leading actor or actress to carry the film. Rebecca Rinehart is wasted in a brief role at the beginning of the film. There's so many great actors and actresses on the indie scene today. If they would have brought in some more recognizable names it might have given the film a bit more personality and in turn would have made for a more enjoyable film. A stronger cast could have potentially put this in 5-6 star territory.
If you're not a fan of indie horror you can probably pass this one up with no regrets. If you are a fan of indie horror proceed with caution.

Catnado is a bad movie in nearly every way. You can nearly hear the voice some of the times, the stories never combine together so there's like four or five different ways the Catnado started, and in some of the stories drag on for way too long. But that's not for all of the stories. There's so many stories in the movie that made me laugh way too much and made it feel like I was watching some YouTube Poop about people hating/being scared of cats. And whoever wrote those scenes genially needs to make a YouTube channel and make videos with that type of story telling because of how dramatic yet funny it was.
For a movie titled "Catnado", there's a definite shortage of cats - and an abundance of cats really is the only thing that could have redeemed this litterbox full of turds.
The 90+ minute film is broken up into 6 or 7 stories, but even so, it still manages to be insufferably boring and about 90 minutes too long.
Yes, it's a spoof and is meant to be ridiculous, but spoofs are also supposed to make fun - and therefore be funny - not bore you to death.
While some movies are so bad (whether intentionally or not) that they become amusing, this isn't one of them; It's just plain bad. Easily one of the worst movies I've ever seen.

First of all, this is an anthology. Making this an anthology was a wise decision, as no segment would ever manage to stand on its own; what is a bit sad is that no segment can even carry a 10-minute slot.
This movie has to be seen in light of its $100,000 budget. While this certainly doesn't buy advanced CGI effects, such things aren't needed. Paranormal Activity had a budget of $15,000; The Blair Witch Project $60,000; El Mariachi $7,000. The problem isn't the budget; the problem is the movie lacks heart. Some stories have concepts that could have been entertaining, but the scripts are barely coherent. Apart from the woman in the very first scene managing to keep a straight face when describing what a "catnado" is, the acting is atrocious at best.
To pull off a micro-budget movie, you need a plan. You need to love your pet project, have fun with it, and be creative! This movie, however, was made with absolutely no effort, no plan, no vision, and no love. It's sad, but this movie should have been aborted at conception.

We sat down to watch this film hoping that it would be truly awful, and we were not disappointed. The special effects generated on windows 95 were amazing and I could probably find more convincing acting in my local mortuary. There were ups and downs, jump scares and some tears, and we have been left in a permanent state of PTSD from the intensity of this amazing peice of cinematography. . My mate Sylvia threw her cat out the window to see if it flew, but unfortunately that was not to be the case. I hope Cat-nado 2 is just as cat-astrophic and scares he whiskers off of us soon, as this was truly a masterpiece of modern history. I think this is one of the greatest films ever made Also, Ssoft waffle.
