I just finished watching the show, I have got to say, I loved it. Sure there are some improvements that the show could work on, but that is the same situation for all shows, no show is perfect. Like a lot of people keep saying, the MC could use some character development and he could stop getting embarrassed all the time. But other than that I loved the story, it's kinda unique, the art style is adorable and the characters are pleasant to watch, I love the romance in it and enjoyed watching the cliches. I recommend that you give it a shot if you haven't seen it yet. Looking forward to season 2!

I really like romance anime, so this review may be a little biased that way. But my goodness, this anime felt like so much more than that. The animation is beautiful and I love the pacing of every episode. In my opinion, this anime nails the edge of seat excitement vibe way more than domestic girlfriend or anything else. And on top of all of it, it didn't leave me with an unsatisfying feeling either (besides the fact that the episodes end). I just love every character interaction and there's comedy too, which is the final ingredient to this all around amazing anime (imo). This review is being made before the last episode even airs, but it doesn't even matter how this first season ends because it has already established itself as amazing to me. I guess if there is something to complain about, it'd be that if you are looking for something wholesome, this anime has plenty of emotionally messy and spicy moments (though there are wholesome parts too). Anyways, I had an open mind when starting it and came to love this anime.

I must say that it is more successful than other series in its genre
There is always a tug-of-war between the characters that makes the story more interesting
There are twists and turns during the story that make your heart skip a beat, of course, that's what this genre of series does.
The story of a girl and a boy who don't like each other and over time talk more and end up falling in love with each other is not new, what makes this story interesting is secrets and words. That cannot be said to each other.
I must say that the character of the characters could be deeper and their past was also used in the series.
But if we want to draw a general conclusion, I have to say that this series has managed to do its job well.

This anime is god damn good, I don't know about other viewers, but I really hoping to see sequal of this anime, I'm really hyped about 2nd season after watching only 3 episodes of first season btw I think protagonist need some character development, that guy easily flustered in any situation. Give him 5 percentage of Chad uniq skill, if u use 5 percentage of Chad skill on protagonist only god knows how much this anime will grow, i think this anime is lacking something like nature view i mean outside their home and school if u add side seeing that would be great and female protagonist she's just awesome actually a perfect, that's all for now.

The premise is absurd - a school requiring boys and girls to pair up and live together! Schools should have classes about relationships, but this is clearly going too far. Once this silly premise is established, the series can set up an endless variety of relationship issues and situations. Friendships, crushes, romance, embarrassments, lust, jealousy, selfishness and stupidity are all available here. The variety of issues definitely helps make the series interesting. The voice actors are solid, and I find the English dub actors for Akari and Jiro extra appealing.
On the negative side - (this is just my opinion) there is an over-emphasis on boobs and crotches. Sure, lots of guys want this, but it tends to detract from the story and some will find it offensive.
Also - Jiro is thick headed and this can be funny, but he is just a little too frozen in his character development. I know character development is a balancing act for the writer- too slow and we get frustrated, too fast and we lose out on comedy situations. My opinion is let's keep it moving along.
I am looking forward to season 2. Meanwhile, the story is available as a manga. Season 1 video covers the first 29 chapters of manga, there are 58 chapters available as I write this review. Have fun!

This anime features a dynamic love issue where people are forced to act as married couples to pass there school. This creates odd situations and amazing moments which help feel like you are there. This Anime will make you not want to leave and sadly it is short, hopefully a season 2 can be made and there are plenty of mangas out for it. As of making this there are 62 manga books. I would Highly recommend this to anyone and the people In this are amazing... Apart from one. But you can watch and find out yourself on how amazing this anime is by watching it on crunchy role. Hopefully a second season will be published!

First off, the overall storyline is decent and interesting which is why I kept watching hoping for something interesting to happen.
Cons:
-Lots of fan service. Like a lot. That got annoying after a while as well.
I would probably not recommend to a friend unless things drastically change in the last 2 episodes (if it goes to 12).
Cons:
- The MC can get quite boring. He needs some character development as another reviewer suggested. He really thinks he's SO pathetic. It's almost depressing.
- Every single episode is the MC's "wife" consistently taking digs at him and teases him in sexual ways. She has mixed feelings which is fine, but there's not much character development for either side so it gets pretty annoying/boring.

I will keep it really short.
"More than a married couple, but not lovers" encompasses a whole range of genres. It hops from romance to comedy to ecchi to drama. And there's moments where this series really does each genre justice, but it didn't always hit the mark for me.
Sometimes the ecchi scenes are really tense, sensual and other times they're pretty trashy. Sometimes the jokes are genuinely funny, but other times, they only got a blank stare out of me. The romances are generally well constructed and you can feel the conflict slowly cooking. Both of our protagonists have conflicting feelings and hopes, which leads to some exceptionally beautiful dramatic moments.
This was a surprise hit for me this season. And despite not being a masterpiece, it is a show that I can safely recommend if you are a fan of one of the genres (or more) that I mentioned above.

This anime series is centred on two high school students; Jiro Yakuin and Akari Watanabe. He is a shy and retiring boy who has feelings for Shiori Sakurazaka; she is an extrovert who fancies Minami Tenjin, the school idol. As part of a school programme to train people to live as couples students are paired and have to live together for some time. Jiro is less than impressed to be paired with Akari. They are told that those who get on best will be able to switch partners; something they both want. As the time passes they become closer to each other; but will it be more than friendship by the time the programme ends.
This series could so easily have been sleazy but it turned out to be surprisingly sweet. The characters are likeable and develop nicely as the series progresses. There is inevitably some fan service but it is mild enough that there isn't any obvious censorship, which detracts from many shows. The central premise is clearly a bit unlikely... having students living in boy/girl pairs would be a disaster waiting to happen, but as a hook for the story it works. The story provides plenty of laughs and an enjoyable element of romance as we wonder who characters will ultimately get together with. Overall I'd certainly recommend this one; I hope we get a second series to resolve unanswered questions.
These comments are based on watching the series in Japanese with English subtitles.

The major thing is how annoying the main love interest (akari) is. She teases jiro to no end and is so hypocritical with her actions, as if he's not a human being with feelings of his own. She only thinks about herself and doesn't consider any consequence to her actions. If this were real life i would love to slap her! Stop being annoying!!! Of course it all works out in the end (i guess??) but i wish she'd be more considerate in the beginning. And no one calls her out on her antics either, like can someone please put her in her place?! Also the ending was terrible, no one ends up with anyone. Waste of my time.

More than a Married Couple at its heart has some weird moments and honestly makes you embarrassed to enjoy it. I understand if someone doesn't enjoy this Anime, but it is one of my favorites without a doubt, and here's why. I was on an anime mission a half a year ago to watch a lot of anime's because I got a Crunchyroll account, and I found myself liking Romances. This one has its strange moments, but in the end I stayed up until 4am finishing the 12th episode on a school night. Holy I almost found out how true love feels because i'm a hopeless romantic and feel over the top situations are captivating, so other than the weird stuff and the fan service (because it's a romance of course there would be) I rate this a confident 9/10 and would recommend to some.

The show is pretty good with a wierd school rule which makes it compulsory for highschoolers to be in married relation otherswise you will not get promoted.
The main character is so dense that even luffy can outsmart him ,like after doing all the kissing and teasing with both the girls he still do not have any clue its like writers are streching the story for no reason.
And same for both the girls after giving him thousands of hints both refused to propose and keep him in rumble .
Only 12 episodes were enough for conclusion. All the characters feels kinda of dumb after some point after doing so much intimate stuff with each other.

More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers anime is a delightful romantic comedy that explores the complexities of teenage relationships with a unique twist. The story is set in a high school where students participate in a "marriage practical," a program designed to teach them about relationships by pairing them with classmates as pseudo-couples.
The protagonist, Jiro Yakuin, finds himself paired with Akari Watanabe, a popular and headstrong girl who is his complete opposite. Despite their initial reluctance and misunderstandings, the duo must learn to navigate their new "married" life together. As they engage in various activities and face challenges, they start to understand each other better, leading to unexpected feelings and growth.
With its blend of humor, heartwarming moments, and a dash of drama, "More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers" beautifully captures the essence of young love and the journey of discovering one's true feelings amidst the chaos of adolescence. The anime's charming art style and engaging characters make it a must-watch for fans of romantic comedies.

The MC is annoying and so self-loathing that it put me off enjoying the first episode.
I wanted to enjoy it but he very naval gazing that it becomes a shore just to.
I am hoping that the manga it's based off isn't like the anime cause it doesn't seem balanced at all as it's central character weakens the whole story.
Though there are moments of humor and inside jokes that are smart it is let down by the MC's tedious personality.
I will try to push through hoping it gets better with next episode or two.
However, I know it is going to be hard especially when I don't like the personality of the MC.

The anime's unique take on the marital practical issue is entertaining and ultimately successful, enabling it to pursue the "enemies to lovers" arc. The forced pairing of Jirou and Akari, however, gives the character relationships a forced and pointless aspect. The show also features ambiguous and pornographic moments, which can be uncomfortable and exhausting. Notwithstanding these problems, there are moments when the character chemistry feels forced and strange, which allows for character growth in subsequent episodes.
Vibrant, brilliant, and highly saturated colors enhance the show's mood and add to its intrigue. The most of the time, the artwork looks fantastic and the color coordination is perfect. Certain scenes use extremely aggressive color schemes that could appear oversaturated, which has the reverse impact of what was intended.
Not much to talk about there. This show doesn't focus much on music. It's a mediocre opening. However, the conclusion is a masterwork. From the moment I heard it, I fell in love with it!
The anime's protagonist, who is in love with his childhood friend and spends more time with the main heroine, is one of many formulaic and commonly imitated characters. Although likeable, the MC is not at all likeable male MCs. Just Tenjin is a more well-known side character than the others; the others are underdeveloped and have no bearing on the plot. In general, the anime's characters are flat and uninteresting.
To be honest, this is one of the shows that I truly enjoyed watching. I know it has shortcomings. I concur that it's nothing exceptional. Yet, I still thought it was great. Though there are some aspects that point to it being a typical rom-com, I think the concept of the entire show is rather creative. It was an anime-related experience I had never had before. During those twelve episodes, I laughed, smiled, and experienced a great deal of exhilaration. I even started reading the manga since I was interested in finding out what would happen next. "More than a married couple, but not lovers" means performing many things incorrectly, if improving my day is one of those many incorrect things.

Just watched this whole thing in a day and I'm just blown away. I'm a big fan of romance animes and usually I get left with this empty feeling after I finish them but this show was different. Every episode left me happy and excited to watch the next one and even after it was all over I was still left with that feeling, still am the next day too. Love the dynamic between the characters and how everything kinda fell into place near the end. Also just gotta say, the outro. Holy shit dude best outro I've ever seen. The song is perfect for this show and the colors and visuals match it soooooo well. It's the only show I've seen so far where I've gone onto YouTube and just watched the outro again and again it's so perfect. Loved this show front to back and love the feelings I'm left with, will definitely be watching again.

AWESOME!!! In this Anime, every episode skillfully balances the delicate dynamics between the hero, his childhood friend (his first love), and the girl he faux-marries for a school curriculum. The emotional tension woven into each episode mirrors the intensity found in classics like 'Nisekoi: False Love(An anime) ' ,where choosing between past and present love becomes a riveting dilemma. The romantic interplay between the hero and the two girls is expertly crafted, building anticipation for the inevitable reveal in the anticipated Season 2.
While the protagonist lacks depth, the competition for his affections between the two girls adds a layer of excitement. Despite his innocence, his character could benefit from more development to enhance his worthiness. The romantic tension is maintained throughout, creating confusion and genuine suspense about the hero's ultimate choice. The final episode's competition between the girls adds a delightful touch, even if the outcome seems predictable.
The anime stands as one of my favorite rom-coms, offering a good blend of romance, tension, and character development. The story's pace is well-maintained, leaving viewers eager to see how the narrative unfolds in the upcoming season. 'More Than a Married Couple But Not Lovers' is a delightful journey through the complexities of love, and I can't wait to see how the spice intensifies in the next season.
