After reading the reviews I just had to see this movie to see if it was as bad as so many stated. Turns out it was decent and deserved a watch. Makes me wonder just how many decent movies I've missed because I relied on the reviews of others who apparently expect each movie they review to be an Oscar winner or it isn't worth watching. Needless to say, I will be considering a lot more movies in the future and relying less on the reviews. I also wonder if the people giving bad reviews have some sort of agenda? I would hate to think so but nowadays just about anything is possible. Anyway, enjoy the movie and if not, consider your expectations maybe need adjustment.
This is a case of if the filmmakers had a big budget, and bigger stars that this film would have been far better.
For what is was, No Way Up is an entertaining film, that showed a great deal of potential. I don't think it was any less believable than say Meg and Meg 2. So I don't see why it is getting the hate. Sometimes you have to watch a movie and appreciate that the filmmaker did the best they could. This is definitely the case. I was not bored once whilst watching No Way Up. I would have to say it is actually better than all the other shark films that have surfaced lately. So if you can watch a film for what it is, and appreciate the potential it had, you should enjoy this film.

No way up was certainly interesting, the premise also being as believable as flying sharks. Sure, it was a strange movie, but it isn't Oscar Worthy material, was it fun? Yes. Was it entertaining? Yes. Was the acting mostly good? Another Yes. Not every movie has to be an Oscar worthy film, some films are better that way, take "Meg films" for example, they are just a good fun time, where you do have to suspend your disbelief. So let's review "No way Up".
Perfectly starts out with a beautifully Haunting score, along side some nice imagery that's well crafted in the action set-piece. Some stunning imagery of the Water takes place in this scene and its truly wonderful to look at. We then eventually see a person drowning and she's been caught by the Shark. This is where we are then taken to the present day.
We see our Characters going on board a plane. There's some nice scenes and the acting is fine. Hank was most noticeably a fun grandpa, that seemed to know how to have fun. The acting from the grandparents is exceptionally great. And Brandon being the carer of a rich man's daughter was nice to see.
However when they are on the plane, things become bumpy. Some of the wings have been hit, and this leads to another issue, can it be stopped and controlled. The reassurance was a realistic part of the film, likewise with the safety proceeder too, some realism there. Then the Planes wing starts to over heart. The young girl (Ava), shows off some great acting. And then we are seeing the wings fly out and some even hit the plane. Causing the plane to move and tilt. Whilst also breaking part of the plane, causing deaths, and suvillains lives are at greater risk.
Our Characters bearly make it out alive. Which is a miracle they even did. We then get some nice moments with our Characters, and it becomes an intense thrill-ride after a verouchous Shark seems to lurk beneath them. It was entertaining. And some sad, but also nice Character moments. With ultimately good acting.
For a low Budget film, it really doesn't deserve some of the HATE it gets. Overall, I enjoyed this film on the whole, and think it was a good fun time. That is coming from a fan of Shark Flicks though. But I like how they rationalised there situation and worked as a team. So the big question.
Would I recommend this film?
Shark Fans, Yes. Suspend your disbelief multiple times, if you find that funny then yes. Everybody else can stay clear.

This definitely isn't gonna be the best film of the year, but it is decent and entertaining to watch. Most actors do a solid job, most notably the main actress, even though the boyfriend and the best friend characters could have benefited from better directing and a few more acting classes. There was some unnecessary backstorying involved with the side characters and you do have to suspend belief for a few of the scenes, but nothing you don't already do with most shark films. I enjoyed the dry humor and the witty dialogue, and was heavily engaged by the time the last part rolled around.
It really isn't one of those horrible-low budget-bad acting-disaster films most reviewers on here claim it is, definitely judge by yourself.

This is a film about a Teddy who survives being lost in an airport, a plane crash and sharks only to be heartlessly tossed back onto the dark watery depths by his owner! Justice for Mr Timms!!!
I realise it wasn't setting out to be an epic and it's quite entertaining, I did keep shouting, not sure sharks do that and I'd have liked some of the minor characters to have a bit more of an arc but hey, it does what it says on the tin. One character does something toward the end that I found particularly frustrating, I just don't think that would be a choice a grandmother would make but hey we are not looking for realism. That poor Teddy though.
