The Hunted

At first, The Hunted felt like just another run-of-the-mill soldier movie, but then it took a turn I wasn't expecting and ended up being quite inspirational. This film in brutal in a variety of ways, and it features some very impressive stunts and solid performances.

The story moves at a great pace and yet spends enough time with the men to draw you and make you really feel for them.

The gun fights are very good, again you get the feeling of been there with them and having the fear of danger. Stunt work is a standout point.

You will really get into the horrific experience of being in the battle zone. This will make you admire and appreciate these brave men who do their unenviable duties in the face of death out of sheer patriotism. This is a frickin war movie, not for the faint at heart. 9/10.

I really like this survival story very much. Its bit depressing in the middle but the story is presented in highly engaging manner. Once the hunt started, there is no dull moment.

The best part is that the viewer can feel the pain and survival instinct while watching this.

I was taken on an emotional rollercoaster. It was acted beautifully. I found myself invested from the beginning.

For me this is the best movie this director ever made.

It is emotional, inspiring, super intense and fast paced entertainment.

The soundtrack is well within the movie and in some bits we only ear the suspense track at a very low level, it cause on us a little fear.

The film has some amazing locations and scenery and was very well paced. The fight and actions scenes were excellent with some decent gore thrown in where necessary. My only nit pick was I felt it could have been a little longer in duration.

It doesn't get carried and is pretty believable until the final chase scene. Along the way, we are treated with some nice woods, of which is nicely filmed.

The cast are able to create fairly complex characters, Miguel D. Dias is back as the enemy leader, this guy always gets the job done, even his voice is menacing, good character.

But the best is the staging of the chases, the staging of the fights, and the spectacular stunt work.

The Hunted is an action/chase film in the tradition of First Blood, but it doesn't have the firepower of that film (to its benefit, the emphasis here is on brutal hand-to-hand combat).

Rui Constantino does a good job of staging some intense firefights. Hiding behind the cover of trees, as the golden sun creeps through, as we see our hero running troughtout the forest, once the bullets start flying, the film really showcases the character stamina as he take on more bruises and wounds as time goes by.

The movie focused mainly on one character Soldier Lawson, in the beginning he is just one of the team, but soon we realize that the all mission depends on him, as his team mates start dying, the film has lots of action and because of the odds stacked against him, it made for a very tense watch.

A sad, but an ultimately powerful film.

As you can tell by the title, the result of one of the missions did not end very well. This mission as a whole was a major failure that left its sole survivor in shambles, and with a very important task, with an entire organization on his tail, he will have to use what he learned in the army so that he can overrun the skills of Havoc and the mercs.

We also got Drake the leader, that trough the movie calls Havoc giving orders to kill everyone and bring the box back to him.

Whatever is in that box everybody wants it, so Lawson must reach an extraction point in order to be safe, but what he must endure to reach it, is pain and sorrow.

The film has plenty of bloody violence.

It´s an 8 out of 10 for me.
