How are we not all talking about how awesome this show is? Do yourself a favour and watch this show.
I loved the different view points from the characters. Pretty much everything about it: how it was filmed, casted, shot. Richard Harmon, Jennifer Tong, and Emilija Baranac were meant for these roles.
The musical score really fit the series. It is easily the most bingeable show on Netflix (or cbc gem in Canada) right now. Really hoping season 2 comes out soon. As a debut show from David Turko, I'm really setting my sight on all his future series as I've been really impressed with this one.
Just do it. Watch it now. You'll love it.

First of all, i have to say it is one of the 3 best shows on Netflix for me. As it was based on true cases, although the story is fictional, the showrunners let us to face to a few problems of teenagers. Personally, i love the way they did that, finding a good balance between humour, violence and emotional (sometimes sentimental) moments. I enjoyed watching the story through the eyes of the main characters, they represented well how big difference there's between the point of view of each person, and how easy to misjudge people at first sight.
Furthermore, i have to highlight the marvelous job of the actors. All were unusually good at portraying their characters. They made me believe that i see real people on the screen: nice, innocent, a bit silly and annoying, but definitely real characters struggling with their own everyday life.

This show never really got of the ground for me. What made it interesting is definitly the way the story is told from two different perspective. Nice touch on the unreliable narrator concept. But other than that there is not much to talk about. I honestly had to look the show up to write this review because I had forgotten most of it - even though I watched it just two week ago. That is not a good sign. There should be something that would make me excited for a second season. However I do not regret watching it - it did pass the time. Richard Harmon was the highlight of the show for me. If there was another season I would tune in but with no excitment or great anticipation to be honest.
Zoe Christensen (Emilija Baranac) is a Vancouver bookworm high school student. She has made an university ID to study in the library. Her hard-partying best friend Rebecca Li (Jennifer Tong) needs a new fake ID. They join drug dealer Tryst (Richard Harmon) to start a fake ID business.
This is a CBC show that got picked up by Netflix. It has a couple of interesting moves like the multiple point-of-views and unreliable narrators. The opening probably shows too much. It depraves the show of some of its tension. The subject matter reminds me a little of Good Girls. As for the girls, they are pretty good despite being thirty playing teenagers. The first season ends with a promise of more although more is unlikely.

Thank you Netflix for Fakes. Overall comedy but has its moments that surprise me in a great way. Got to watch. Great casting and set. Love the scoring. Alternating viewpoints and what the character Zoe and Beca are experiencing was interesting and was refreshing to the narrative. The show keeps you on your toes and never a dull moment with the interperonsal relationships of the characters and how the deal with each situation as they unfold. Tryst is so engaging to watch. There is so much to build on, You can't just leave season 1 like this, you just can't. Was this film in North America cause it has a very European vibe on the set. Can't wait to see the next season.
