    Sunny paji's Karishma

Gadar 2 is the sequel to the 2001 blockbuster Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. It stars Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, and Utkarsh Sharma. The film is set against the backdrop of the 1971 India-Pakistan war. Tara Singh (Sunny Deol), a Sikh truck driver, must once again cross the border illegally to save his son Jeete (Utkarsh Sharma) from the wrath of Pak General Hamid Iqbal (Manish Wadhwa).

The film has received mixed reviews from critics. Some have praised the film's action sequences, patriotic fervor, and performances, while others have criticized its outdated storyline, predictable plot, and over-the-top violence.

Personally, I thought Gadar 2 was an enjoyable film. It was definitely not a masterpiece, but it was a fun and entertaining way to spend a few hours. The action sequences were well-choreographed and exciting, the performances were solid, and the film had a good amount of patriotic fervor. However, the storyline was a bit outdated and predictable, and the film did rely on over-the-top violence at times.

Overall, I would recommend Gadar 2 to fans of Sunny Deol, action films, and patriotic dramas. However, if you're looking for a film with a fresh and original storyline, you may want to look elsewhere.

Here are some of the pros and cons of Gadar 2:

    Pros:

Exciting action sequences( some might find it cringe and compare it with early South Indian exaggerated action sequences, but come on man, it is a mass masala film, we do not need to incorporate physics everywhere) Solid performances by Sunny Deol and Manish Wadhwa Good amount of patriotic fervor Nostalgic moments for fans of the first film Cons:

Outdated storyline Predictable plot Over-the-top violence Lack of originality Weak performance by Utkarsh and Ameesha.( Personally, I feel Utkarsh did very cringe acting in the first half but he escalated in the 2nd half)

Overall, Gadar 2 is a fun and entertaining film that is sure to please fans of Sunny Deol and action films. However, it is not a masterpiece, and it may not be to everyone's taste.

    I rate it 6 out of 10.

Extremely poor writing and I feel sorry for the director

Nothing new in story , unrealistic action scenes as if the the hero is some God , villain speaks so much and when it's time for action blows out like bubble , such a bad writing this movie is a disrespect to Gadar the first part which has so many memories with our childhood really saddened. The songs bring back some memories but not good enough to hold the movie it's full of flaws , this movie is made just to capitalise on the previous Gadar Movie ( Gadar-1 )it seems. Some songs are good credit goes to music director and singers. The dialogues are good which a strong statement for enemies of India other than that there is nothing and bad cinematography and no screen presence.

    One of the worst sequels

I don't know if Tara gets back home in the end. Had to leave 25 minutes before the final credits came. Couldn't bear it any more. It is THAT BAD.

The director, his thoughts, the story, the action - everything seems to be trapped in a time warp.

Amrish Puri is sorely missed as the chief villain, who is provided with a flimsy background and even thinner motivation against Tara, is clownish. I wanted to cackle in the theatre when he went on his tirade against Indians.

Sunny Deol is well intentioned and still shouts loud enough to nudge you to your nearest ENT specialist. His presence filled my heart with hope that something startlingly fantastic was about to happen, justifying the wild box office numbers. Nothing did.

One of the poorest that I have seen in recent times.

This movie ruined my wonderful memories of the first part. It's that bad!

All the reviews that are praising this sequel are FAKE... for sure... You simply cannot watch this movie irrespective of whether you have watched the first part or not. Believe me, it's that bad, pathetic and boring. The makers have used the same old songs that were super hit in the first part, a lot of times in this sequel. There are other songs also but not worth mentioning really. You won't even remember any of them after you leave the movie hall.

This is supposed to be a action movie. But in fact it will be better if I don't mention anything about action in this movie in my review. At times it made me laugh and wonder why am I even watching this movie. It has ruined the wonderful memories that I had with the first part.

    Not entertaining at all!

This movie is all about a director's efforts to establish his son as a bollywood actor. He has chosen his all time blockbusters film to give it a shot. The movie lags emotions. You can't just go into flashback and let the audience connect with the film. It may work in villages where they might see the first part every now and then on television but even they will have issues digesting it. A trade analyst gave it. 4.5 stars on twitter and I am surprised about the criteria to become a film critic.

If you want to watch it, wait for it to be released on ott or television. Please don't waste your hard earned money on this.

Jeetay (Charanjeet Singh): Wow! What a justice! My mother has read and explained me the Quran more than you have ever read. Don't you even know that the Shariat instructs you to ask the dying person's final wish?

Major General Hamid Iqbal: You have lost the privilege to be granted a final wish after this heinous crime, boy. But the law of Pakistan is kindhearted. So tell me, what is your final wish?

Tara Singh: The son would like to meet his father!

      [everyone shocked]

Major General Hamid Iqbal: Tara Singh! You showed up at the right time. Son's murder in front of his father... what a sight! You killed 40 of my soldiers, didn't you? Today I will finally be at peace!

Tara Singh: General sir! Please let my son go. He is innocent. Your fight is with me. I stand in front of you.

Major General Hamid Iqbal: My fight is with every Indian! You've tortured our Muslim brothers in India enough. Now, we will win them freedom!

      Tara Singh: Freedom from whom?

      [guns pointed at him]

Tara Singh: India belongs to Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Hindus, every Indian in general. All of them have fought and made sacrifices for independence!

Major General Hamid Iqbal: Oh really? Then what about the Mukti Bahini movement you guys created in East Pakistan by brainwashing our Bengali Muslim brothers?

Tara Singh: We didn't create it; they are all victims of your torture. Instead, your soldiers murdered thirty lakh Bengali Muslims and tortured the women there.

Major General Hamid Iqbal: No! It's all lies!

Tara Singh: Then what about the one crore refugees in India?

Major General Hamid Iqbal: That was staged by your own people to deceive the world!

Tara Singh: Stop lying, General. Enough with this political game. Enough of bossing around the Muslims. If the people here are given a chance to resettle in India, half of Pakistan would be empty. This politics will turn you into a beggar. Even if you beg, no charity will be shown!

Major General Hamid Iqbal: Enough! Enough with this nonsense! Tie the father along with the son to the cannon. Let's see what he plucks today

Prior to its theatrical release, the film received a U/A certificate after 10 modifications were made. These included:
      • The scene of the rioters chanting 'Har Har Mahadev' have been removed. The 'Shiv Tandav' shlokas were replaced with the song line 'Akhand hai...who sang hai'.
      • The word 'Bastard' was replaced with 'Idiot'. The designation of Defence Minister was incorrectly depicted. It was rectified to 'Raksha Mantri', the word 'Tirange' was changed to 'Jhande' and the 'Har Jhande Ko...' dialogue was suitably modified.
      • The line in the thumri song 'Bata De Sakhi' was replaced by 'Bata De Piya Kahaan Bitaayi Shaam'. A dialogue 'Dono ek hi toh hai. Baba Nanak ne bhi yahin kaha hai' was replaced with 'Ek noor te sab jag upaje. Baba Nanak ne bhi yehi kaha hai' with references to the holy Quran and Bhagavad Gita.
      • The makers were asked to submit documentary evidence for all the stats and references made about the 1971 India-Pakistan war. Also, the makers submitted translation for the shlokas and mantras used in the film.
