This movie is R rated, not suitable for family audiance. Too much violence, nice story, and decent screenplay, Actions are Well Choreographed. I like this movie, i don't agree with this idiot reviewers. Rapists are deserve this kind of punishment, last dialogues are really heart hitting. And most positive Fact about this movie is Lady Characters. Just wow.. i was not expecting this. Love this movie and Dr. Shiv rajkumar.

There is a prostitute character in this movie, her role was insane, not expecting at all, villains are average, comedy was average, songs are good, and i don't know who was playing Dr. Srk's wife's role , she was just insane. If u r like violence raw action, then this movie is for u.. if u scare of blood shades then don't watch this movie go and watch pogo with ur family. Watch mr. Bean. 😊

The movie did a very good job conveying the message which has been known and said earlier but this has a different impact . Shivanna , being his 125th movie , leaves a lot of space to other characters specially the lead female casts and obviously shine. His eyes are his power . A very big round of applause to Ganavi Laxman , who has played Vedha's wife, pushpa character is just amazing . Watched the movie 2nd time just for her performance. Aditi Sagar as Kanaka was powerful too , as well as Swetha Chengappa . Vedha's friend played by Raghu performed really well . And How can I forget Umashree ! She's just marvellous . The baddies did a very good job too though their screen time was limited . Could have been still more interesting and gripped . Had about 4 to 5 goosebump moments . Overall , if you want to watch a movie that's simple ,effective , mass , class and a great cast with awsome performance , Do not hesitate and just go for it .

At core, Vedha's story is done to death kind as we have seen this story unfold multiple times before. What makes this stand apart is how Harsha builds the story around his women characters than his male lead. Not that it is sensible, it mostly sticks to murder as the solution / justice. Starting in the present day, the narrative goes through non-linear style jumping from 80's to 60's comfortably. With the father - daughter duo on a killing spree, clearly to avenge the death of their mother, the story is about what really happened for the duo to take law into their hands in that brutal fashion.

Vedha remains a straight forward story told in non-linear style. Probably why it felt Harsha having more control over his script than say Bhajarangi 2 where he overstuffed the screenplay making it too much for him to handle. There isn't much deviation so Harsha's growth as a director / storyteller is visible. Like his Bhajarangi 2, even this initially had superficial dialogues and dialogue delivery but thankfully it didn't last long. The pace does drop frequently but that is more to do with the nature of the script with minimal space for entertaining scenes.

The true strength of Vedha apart from making style is definitely the performances. Shivanna on his 125th film is comfortable in downplaying his character and letting others shine. His is a matured performance where he roars only when he is required to. Aditi Sagar does well with limited dialogues firmly supporting Shivanna. Ganavi Laxman is good in her role but some of her dialogues were hard to understand due to the dialect. Shweta Chengappa did shine in a major scene which drew non stop whistles. The veteran Umashri shows off why the character poses no challenge to her and entertains well.

Since the story isn't new, it has hangover of several films but not enough to ruin the experience. Vedha still delivers despite extreme violence and pacing issues. The gimmicks do land without turning cringe which is an added advantage. Whenever the narrative stalls, the performances make up for it.

An excellent combination of a strong message, a great storyline, and excellent casting.

Shivanna's and the other cast members' performance is outstanding, and the scenario is really realistic.

I loved the whole film and suggest that others see it so that they may decide whether or not it was worth their time.

Not a movie to be watched with family. Kids and women will find the violence too heavy and a sensitive subject is commercialised leaving a bad after taste than sending a message. This movie is suited for 2000s not 2020.

A Harsha has not upgraded to reality and well researched cinema which focuses on the message but instead resorts to heroism and hero worship. Songs are average and screenplay is a drag with many slow motion shots. Remove all this and movie time would've been 90 mins. Unnecessary and crude comedy scenes. Overall disappointing movie (again) from Harsha. Please stop directing....

Same storyline, making and screenplay as other A Harsha movies. Too violent and confusing screenplay for family. Definitely not recommended for kids.

Story drags and second half is very predictable. Violence is not the remedy for violence. Also sensitive subjects need a different touch rather than making it a commercial cinema with heroism.

Few questions after the movie 1. Why is it named Vedha and as per title what did it teach 2. What is the significance of setting this movie in 1960s 3. Why is violence a remedy for violence

Don't see the stupid and waste fellows reviews.. PLEASE watch this movie... Today... Real facts movie's no one can seeing and encouraging... they're wanting useless movie's... Yes.... It's true.. How they're giving Single Star....use less fellows... However movie is good.. don't miss this one... One of the greatest movie than RRR and Pathan.. these are un natural movie's... Siva Rajkumar acting and all other acting is excellent and the crew is done their job good.. The director has not compromised to his film and affords are very good.. don't think about the violence... One of the part of movie.

As a Shivanna fan, this movie had high expectations and hype. But ended up as a commercial hero centric drama which is unrealistic. Movies with these subjects need gentle touch and reminder to society about its implications rather than making violence as a therapy. Too much gore and bloodshed for family and children watching the movie. What is the point? We have seen Damini and other movies showing revenge by rape victims but another movie in same note and more violence is senseless. This could have been dealt better and with much more message. What is VEDHA in communicating violence to society?

I must say Vedha is an excellent movie. Those who have mentioned about violance and hero centric in reviews, trust me those reviews are like spam. Violence is there in like 80/100 Indian movies. Ignore those reviews. Vedha is an excellent movie. I can say it's a good comeback for Shivanna. Harsha hasn't done a good job recently but this one is lit. The colour grading is so good and suits perfectly for the movie. And the characterization is entirely magnificent. Great choices. All kannada talents used. The negative point is the short summary they have put on internet which is not that catchy. This movie should have released simultaneously on all languages.

Movie is very regressive! Too much violence. Shivanna should not be doing these violent movies again or again...seriously it is a very regressive script. Very disappointing. As a fan of Shivanna, it's a let down😢

The females actors have done a fantastic job. That's the only silver line! I am not sure why kannada movies always have to so many fights, needsless violence in every movie...Focus on the scripts, not the hero! Even ShivaRajkumar would have taken a better story than this crap...I know I am being critical but this is standard run of the mill revenge drama..nothing new to offer...disappointing!

It is one of the best movies I have seen in recent years. Man, what a storyline! I salute Shivanna. All the women in this movie had strong storylines.

What stunning acting by all of them. It is Adithi Sagar who is the hero of the film. It's a credit to Shivaanna that he gives more screen time to the women in the movie than to him.

The cinematography, songs, and vibe are all top-notch In the world of hero-centric films, there is no better example of what a true hero looks like in this movie.

I really enjoyed watching all the senior kannada actors together on screen.

As a woman, i find this movie not women centric but male hero worship and regressive. Shows the quality of thought and narrow mindedness of Director and story writer. This is a case of using women vulnerability and harassment to highlight manliness of the hero. Rather, they should have spared a thought for women suffering and mental condition.

The story writers and director need to be stabbed on their manhood using the same pen for scripting this bull crap. Hats off to the hero who despite his experience and standi in society decides to back such a story and direction. This is the primary reason for KFI not being able to stand tall except for the efforts for Shetty trio.

Empty halls on second weekend in Bengaluru at Nartaki. Came here reading about the yatra by SRK to promote the movie. But DISAPPOINTED and wished I had NEVER fallen for the gimmick.

Quality cinema is 777 Charlie or Kantara which I watched when there was no major promotion and came back super impressed, and a disappointing thrash like Vedha after all the 'paid news'.

Dear SRK, either stop working with Harsha or retire from cinemas. You deserve better than such meaningless cinema. Boring fare and hoped that all the masala could have been avoided to focus on theme. Harsha has stamped that he can only (re)make other stories and without you as hero, he can make nothing. Most overhyped cinema and director. TOTAL THRASH.

I saw it today on television and I literally feel very guilty about it ,how can such a fantastic movie didn't deserved what it's has to be deserved, 😔 In ancient India women are treated as Devi and represent as a symbol of warriors this film literally defined it ,it really shows what real feminism is it ,what can women do if she decided something ,women is born warriors You will find very negative comments about it ,I really think that these comments are of either a person who doesn't want u to see what a women can do ,or these comments are from so called feminist who doesn't want u to show what really naari is ,what Devi is!!!

I've not watched movie but I had already taken oath to not watch his directional movies when I watched maruthi 800 long back starred sharan.. Fraternity of Harsha is dance he should focus on that instead of directing movies, the bhajarangi succes was exceptional and after that he didn't updated, he always tries to convince the theme of the movie forcibly and that turns audience to feel bored and to run out of theatre, unrealistic comedy, senseless elevations. Not only him others like hariskrishna, arjun janya should also focus on their music fraternity.. I am not telling to do movies like what Shetty and gang, Prashant neel are doing, we just want something different rather than routine and even if that's not possible then they should stop doing this and torturing people on theatres. I am not understanding why these star heroes are giving opportunities to these people. This is the golden era for sandalwood and world is watching us, to be frank when star heroes stop giving opportunities to these cringes then only the standard of KFI will shine more.

When movies like "777 CHARLIE" & "KANTARA"are striving hard getting national recognition,directors like Harsha are adding cheap thrills and gory violent and bloody pointless revenge drama to fill the pockets of producers making way to stay in limelight ....what's women empowerment is it just hero on a killing spree hunting social evils ...Ghanavi laxman and Umashree are the character's to look upon trying to save the movie that falls flat with poor writing and baseless plot...Being Shivraj Kumar's 125th film fails to create a magic or a milestone impact could have wisely chosen a better script ... Overall better avoid watching it to save ur valuable time.

Director Harsha is to be blamed for this dabba movie. These days kannada movies are doing so well (KGF, Kantara, etc) .. In this era, we have so much of expectation from Sandalwood. But this movie is so disappointing and it is frustrating to watch it in theatre, It really tests your patience, bloody violent movie

Not even worth watching on OTT. Stay away from this.
