As Seen On TV: Watch Channing Tatum’s ‘She’s the Man’ on ABC Today!!!

I Love to see Channing Tatum in comedic roles! He was hilarious in the Ron Howard-directed comedy ‘The Dilemma‘ with Vince Vaughn and Kevin James, and based on what I saw on my recent set visit, fans are going to really get a kick out Chan and Jonah Hill in their comedy ‘21 Jump Street‘ when it hits theaters next March.

Today (Sunday, July 3, 2011), you guys can watch Chan’s first ever comedic role, because ‘She’s the Man‘ will be playing on ABC at 3:00 pm Central /4:00 pm Eastern. Click Here to confirm show times in your area.

For those who don’t know, here’s what the movie is all about…

A simple case of assumed identity snowballs into a romantic mix-up of epic proportions in director Andy Fickman’s contemporary teen take on William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night.

Viola Hastings (Amanda Bynes) has good reason...

Nicolas Roeg, Les Blank, Fassbinder and More
With Insignificance (1985) out from Criterion last week (see the roundup), The Man Who Fell to Earth (1976) opening at Film Forum in New York tomorrow and, in the UK, Don't Look Now (1973) out on Blu-ray on July 4, following the BFI retrospective in March, there's a Nicolas Roeg mini-revival going on.

Writing about Insignificance and The Man Who Fell to Earth for Artforum, Darrell Hartman argues, "Past is present in the cinema of Nicolas Roeg. To simply call those extratemporal sequences that punctuate his work 'flashbacks' is to downplay the role that images of what came before play in his films. Such 'digressive' framing devices are, in many ways, the emotional and visual keystones of Roeg's work. In his heyday, from the 1970s until the mid-80s, Roeg was known as an envelope pusher. He employed nonlinear editing as part of an ambitious attempt to bridge space and time, cutting frames together...

Mixtape: The Marathon

Real Spit: Nipsey Hussle's career has been more stop-and-go than L.A. traffic, but the rapper is far from discouraged. After building a sizable buzz that landed him a record deal with Epic, a shoe deal with Pony, co-signs from the Game and Snoop, and acting credits in flicks with Vivica A. Fox and Ving Rhames, Nipsey still hasn't dropped his major-label debut, South Central State of Mind. No worries: The lanky hip-hop prospect is still delivering heat with his latest mixtape, The Marathon.

"The Marathon concept is just me stepping outside of the situation and assessing it," Nipsey told Mixtape Daily. "A lot of times, you go through...

No Gatsby after all?
In interview with The New York Magazine, Baz Luhrmann has said he’s “not doing Gatsby right now”.

“I’m not doing Gatsby right now for this reason [that most of his team is in Brooklyn]. Because despite what might be out there, I have made no comment about anything. So until I say it, it’s not said, you know,” said Luhrmann.

The announcement that Luhrmann would start production of the $120m film in Sydney in August was made by the Nsw Government on February 20: “Nsw has secured production of Baz Luhrmann’s 3D film The Great Gatsby – injecting more than $120 million into the Nsw economy and supporting more than 825 jobs. Sydney has beaten out New York – the actual settling for the classic 1920s story – with pre‑production to begin next month.”

The Vulture section of the publication spoke with Luhrmann at the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s gala dinner in honor of Geoffrey Rush’s...

Summary: The story focuses on three women being thrust into an extraordinary situation involving a psychopathic hitman, a grizzled trucker and a delusional line cook.

The likes of Maggie Grace, Kate Mara, Laura Ramsey, Sarah Roemer, Lizzy Caplan and Lauren German were all attached at one point or another before the final trio of Malin Akerman ("Watchmen"), Nikki Reed ("Twilight") and Deborah Ann Woll ("True Blood") were settled on.

Julian Schnabel's Polaroids | interview
We know Julian Schnabel as a painter (the plates) and as a film-maker (The Diving Bell and the Butterfly). Now, with an old handmade Polaroid camera and a little help from his friends, he is making stunning photographs

Julian Schnabel is an American renaissance man. In the 80s, he attracted international media attention for his large-scale "plate paintings". He went on to become a notable film-maker and, in 2007, his film, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, about French editor Jean-Dominique Bauby, was nominated for four Oscars. Now, although he continues to paint and make films, he has found himself for a third time – as a photographer.

His accomplice in this – and he refers to it as if describing a venerable, trusty friend – is his Polaroid camera. It is one of only six in existence: a 20x24in 1970s handmade machine. It is huge, cumbersome, intended for studio photography and greedy for flash lighting.

Jackboots On Whitehall – Review
When you watch the opening scene of the McHenry brothers debut feature you’ll no doubt be thinking ‘what the hell is this?’ But stick with it because Jackboots On Whitehall is an eccentric and inventive satire which will you grow on you, I promise.

Yes, the puppetry and animation is rather creepy and the lack of expression and movement at odds with the voice work, but the sheer barminess and arduous task of directing something like this shouldn’t be dismissed. Mercilessly toying with stereotypes and referencing everything from George Orwell’s essay The Lion and The Unicorn, the films of Powell and Pressburger, Humphrey Jennings stirring propaganda work and Mel Gibson’s Braveheart, the one liners and situations come thick and fast. It’s an utterly bizarre ‘toy story’ which will certainly be compared to Team America: World Police, but shouldn’t.

The voice cast – Ewan McGregor, Richard E. Grant,...

Emma Stone Circles Two High-Profile Pics
With the release of Easy A last week, more audiences (and studio executives) have taken notice of Emma Stone and now the young actress has some potentially big projects ahead of her. She's been approached for the female lead opposite Jonah Hill in the 21 Jump Street reboot. The Sony film, which was written by Hill and Josh Appelbaum, has been described as “a John Hughes movie with ‘Bad Boys’ style action.” For those too young to remember, 21 Jump Street was a TV series focusing on undercover cops who passed for high school students and became a launching pad for Johnny Depp. The film will be directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miler, the duo behind Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs. Hit the jump to find out Stone's other potential film. Stone has also been added to a list of candidates for the female lead in the upcoming Spider-Man reboot.

Jackboots on Whitehall Trailer and Posters
Here are the trailer and two posters for puppets/stop-motion animation film Jackboots on Whitehall which featuring the voices of Ewan McGregor, Rosamund Pike, Timothy Spall and Dominic West.

Set in World War II, the film is a satirical version of the war that sees the Scottish defeat the Germans and save England from invasion – even “with their tiny plastic hands”.

From the McHenry Brothers (Edward McHenry and Rory McHenry) comes a satirical version of World War II in which the Scottish defeat the German invasion of England. Chris (Ewan McGregor) dreams of the chance to join the army and fight in exciting new lands rather than be stuck in the slow paced village life he has grown up in. His chance comes when the three top Nazis hatch a plan to invade England by drilling under the English Channel and into the heart of London. With the entire British...

Taylor Swift's New Single 'Mine' Sneaks Out
Scheduled to come out on August 16, Taylor Swift's newest song "Mine" has arrived earlier than expected. On Wednesday, August 4, the first single off her upcoming third album "Speak Now" has made its rounds for listening pleasure, and has been made available for download on iTunes.

Featuring an uplifting country/pop melody and big chorus, the song offers a happy ending after surviving a past rocky relationship. Its chorus read, "Do you remember we were sitting there by the water? / You put your arm around me for the first time / You made a rebel of a careless man's careful daughter / You are the best thing that's ever been mine."

In the bridge, the ex-girlfriend of Joe Jonas is head singing, "And I remember that fight, 2:30 A.M. / You said everything was slipping right out of our hands / I ran out crying and you followed me out into the street...

Taylor Swift Picks On-Screen Groom Using Lucky Number
Taylor Swift's lucky number apparently has played a part in the choosing of Toby Hemingway as her groom for "Mine" music video. Though admitting she has thought he would be perfect for the role after watching him in "Feast of Love", the 20-year-old knew for sure that the British-born actor was the one after accidentally spotting him with her lucky number 13.

"I was doing some more research and watched another movie he was in called 'The Covenant'," the country beauty told People Magazine. "I've got this crazy 13 lucky thing, and he walks on screen for the first time wearing a sweatshirt with a 13 on it! That was the deciding factor. It wasn't really up to me, it was about the number."

The "You Belong with Me" crooner has been spotted filming for the music video with Toby back in early July. At the time, she slipped into...
