Dune: Part Two is a sequel to Denis Villeneuve's adaptation of Frank Herbert's seminal science-fiction novel, Dune, of which the first film shares the same title.

Centuries prior to the events of Dune, artificial intelligence grew to the point where it enslaved humanity. Humanity rose up and destroyed this artificial intelligence.
