Thunivu

Positives: 1. AJITH: Ajith sir's screen presence and his body language really hold the movie until the end.

2. Engaging first half and the interval block: Movie started off well and the gripping nature in first half never made us feel that there is any lack in logic despite some illogical sequences.

3. All actors did justice to their roles. Special mentions: Samuthirakani, Mohana Sundaram, Manju Warrier and Mahanathi Shankar.

4. Subject chosen by the movie and the message: Various scams involved in banking and stock market (can't reveal much as it becomes spoiler) researched well and must be known by everyone. The message given by this movie has been delivered well and special kudos to H Vinoth for executing the same.

5. Comical tone of thala Ajith throughout the film: The serious subject has been dealt comically throughout the movie in order to reach the audience commercially and succeeded in the effort.

6. Some twists and turns: I don't want to spoil your experience. Watch it and find it yourself.

Negatives: 1. Some portions in second half: As the second half deals with the motive for engaging in heist, motive felt little unconnected in my opinion. But still it's just my opinion, maybe it would be good for others.

3. RIP logic and physics: As I said earlier in positive, first half didn't feel illogical because of the engaging tone even though some scenes are illogical. Even though second half has some entertaining and informative sequences , many scenes are illogical. We sense such illogical scenes, as cinematic liberty have been taken and the limits have been crossed especially in the climax sequence.

4. VFX and editing issues. But not hampering the the screenplay of the movie.

Overall, a decent watch which must be watched by everyone for its message.

My rating: 6.5/10.

I guess this is the first time we didn't see any notable theme for AK by Gibran in the movies he had worked with the star. Extremely disappointed with the BGM..

Yes, the stunts were fantabulous & cinematography was brilliant, but that alone not sufficient for entertainment.

Editing could have been better.. most hyped 360 degree shot was took few seconds to relaiseI, was kept in between the sequence..

Unwanted flashback. Especially Dharshan portion.

Still can't believe the fact that the same director who made this movie had taken Sathurangavettai, Theeran.

Overall the 1st is a visual treat for ak Fans

Perfect Content Action Packed.. #HVinoth Made his Mass writting with Many Great Dialogues to People... #AK's one of the best performance #Gibran's music is good

Its an all in all AK madness. His swag, his way of firing with the guns, his evil calculative smile , his anger, AK was being untied and gave the complete freedom by the director to do what he wants. That was the feeling post watching his performance.

1st half as director claimed its for Thala fan, I will say that its for all those who love mass & 1st half was awesome.

2nd half it was a mixture. As H. Vinoth in his Galatta Plus interview stated that he stress on giving information on a specific subject through his interview & that what we could see in 2nd half. The financial scams, the bank issues etc blended with the cinematic ingredients, movie throws out to be a watchable flick.

Overall Thunivu is a mass entertainer backed by a relevant message..

SIXER 🔥

Like it's protagonist & his team (aka family), even Thunivu's screenplay follows the KISS policy - Keep it simple, silly. The bank heist plan to steal 500cr goes haywire when another team led by the Devil himself take over the heist with eyes on far bigger amount and deeper motive. Who is this Devil and why is he involved in the heist forms rest of the story. With AK leading from the front, Thunivu has a solid first half getting everything right from his intro to using his swag to kickstart the story. There is a barely a dull moment here.

It is the second half which is over simplified with two back to back flashbacks where H. Vinoth let go of his inner Atlee. It brings a major tonal change and the attempt to bring in a strong yet emotional justification to the hero's actions turns out to be too desperate. It messes up the flow big time. Also the oversimplification of the issue highlighted here, makes the action that follow look silly. If only things could be resolved in such a simple manner.

The supporting cast gets badly sidelined in the second half and the prolonged action sequence in the climax doesn't help the proceedings. One cannot help wishing for a better second half as the current one simply doesn't do justice to the entertaining first half.

A gang enter into a bank for robbery but they get surprise already another guy came with plan... Police and officis try to catch the thieves and save the hostages... Meanwhile slowly reveals the protogonist's flashback behind the reason for robbery the bank... And finally criticize about bank frauds.. Good message but not soo strong... Overdo heroism and unwanted mass scenes.. One time watchable movie...
