Gustav Gets Grounded: The Series

After its premiere, it had a worldwide success in the United States and various English-speaking countries, it was also one of the underrated because only five episodes were released during October and November 2021.

Despite the delays of already scheduled episodes, it also cancellations of some projects as well as the incident that we already know about the creator's husband in relation to Tomás Moya in his personal controversy and Francisco Universe, the writer of the series was also a victim of the predator and damaged his integrity as well as his mental health. The series was canceled despite certain controversies suffered from that time.

After its cancellation, it became a gem than its predecessor 'Violy Gets Grounded' because it considered it an original story being the first series to have a story of its own.

When it was first released, it was very nicely animated and very well written. I enjoyed the series, but then an annoucement of a special episode was to be released, and Daniel confirmed the reason why Gustav acts like a complete monster, and it was because Gustav was one time a friendly and kind person and he was LGBT and dated a kind man named Abraham, but then his dad, Marcus caught his son dating a man, he was not happy and made him go to conversion therapy, where he was trapped in for months, and on top of that, Evil Emma and Ferdinand also kidnapped and tortured him, which is how he was turned into a troublemaker, and this is so incredibly sad. It is a shame it wasn't released due to the problems Daniel had back then, but that doesn't change the fact how tragic Gustav's backstory was. I really want him to be good again and be reunited with Abraham.

Also, I feel bad for saying this, but I did not like that punishment day video out of him, because of the extreme abuse inflicted on him. I'm so sorry.

I loved the first episodes because most of the scenes were extremely funny, almost creative, somewhat strong and grotesque despite the level of profanity and violence in some scenes.

The first episode but with the remake was too funny, the scene where Gustav transforms into Karen, gets more and more infuriating with a chibi look, alluding to the Japanese animation known as anime. Extremely funny but not over the top.

The second episode was extremely funny, especially for the scene where Gustav pretends to be sick and when his father is not in his son's room, he starts watching funny videos and trends that were around at the time in 2021.

The third episode was serious and reflects the reality of what is happening in real life, when a person receives backslashes and criticism from conservative society for their sexual orientation. It is extremely sad and difficult to resolve because most people do not change because of their beliefs and ideologies.

The fourth episode was so funny compared to the first episodes of the series, Irina's mental breakdown was extremely funny and senseless, even this episode was almost inspired by where Violy comes out naked scaring and disturbing the people of Los Angeles.

The fifth episode was the one that made the series almost end from bad to worse, because Gustav resurrected Emma and Ferdinand from the dead, because he doesn't know the consequences that can happen next.

The sixth and final episode was what ends up disappointing me, I never liked how Gustav took the lives of Larry, Giselle and Marilyn with the help of Emma and Ferdinand just for a damn revenge that he had been keeping since the execution.

An excellent animated series, almost cultured and controversial in the end.
