Lorde has revealed several behind-the-scenes facts about her latest album, Virgin, including that one of her favorite songs didn’t make the final track list.
In a post on social media Monday, Lorde wrote that she cut a song from the album at the “last minute because I thought it diluted the vision.” She added that it was one of her “absolute favs” that she wrote with Fabiana Palladino, who also worked on “Current Affairs” and “If She Could See Me Now.”

Days before Lorde released her fourth album, Virgin, the pop superstar stood in the middle of Brooklyn club Baby’s All Right basked under a cerulean-blue glow as she shared song snippets from her new project and danced with fans. Dressed in a white, nearly see-through dress with glitter on her face, Lorde threw her hands up toward the venue’s disco ball and looked like an ethereal reincarnation of herself. With Virgin, Lorde excavates parts of herself she has yet to contend with on the public stage — from her...

Lorde is packing her forthcoming studio album, Virgin, with visceral feelings. She recently described the lyrics on the record, out June 27, as being “right on the edge of gross,” leaning into the “grotesque nature” of garnering an intimate understanding of her body. With the record still a few weeks away, Lorde has painted some vivid descriptions of the “gnarliness or grossness” she explores with the complete 11-song album track list.

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts presented its 2025 TV Awards at the Royal Festival Hall in London, with a wide spectrum of talent recognized across drama, comedy, factual, and children’s programming. Hosted by Alan Cumming, the event was broadcast on BBC One domestically and streamed on BritBox in the United States, continuing the Academy’s emphasis on broad accessibility for international audiences.
This year’s selections showcased both returning series and first-time contenders. Several winners have already seen cultural ripple effects across the UK media landscape. ITV’s Mr Bates vs the Post Office stood out not only for winning Limited Drama but also for earning the Special Award, recognizing ITV’s role in commissioning a project that helped catalyze national discussion. Based on a real-life miscarriage of justice, the series dramatized the experiences of sub-postmasters wrongly accused of theft and fraud, spurring public and political attention.
