Bob Yari’s Magenta Light Studios will release the action comedy Bride Hard on June 20. The film will have a nationwide theatrical release. The film reunites Pitch Perfect’s Rebel Wilson and Anna Camp in an action-packed female-led comedy set against the backdrop of a fairy-tale wedding with some uninvited and unexpected crashers. From director Simon West (The Expendables 2, Con Air), the film stars Rebel Wilson (Pitch Perfect trilogy, JoJo Rabbit), Anna Camp (Scream 7, Pitch Perfect trilogy), Emmy nominated Anna Chlumsky (Inventing Anna, Veep), Academy Award winner Da’Vine Joy Randolph (The Holdovers), Gigi Zumbado (Heart Eyes), Stephen Dorff (True Detective, The Righteous Gemstones), and Justin Hartley (Tracker, This is Us).

The Rebel Wilson-led action comedy “Bride Hard” has bagged a domestic release from Magenta Light Studios.

Bob Yari’s upstart production and distribution venture will roll out the feature from Simon West, about a secret agent whose toughest assignment is making sure her friend gets to the altar on time.

The cast is stacked with more than one Barden Bella; it includes Anna Camp, Emmy nominee Anna Chlumsky, Academy Award winner Da’Vine Joy Randolph (“The Holdovers”), Gigi Zumbado (“Heart Eyes”), Stephen Dorff and Justin Hartley. The film is eyeing a wide release for 2025, on the back of Magenta Light’s buzzy first release “Strange Darling.”

We sat down with Ashley earlier this week and, as well as taking a deep dive into her captivating performance in the movie, we also asked what it's been like to have Twilight and Alice Cullen remain such a huge part of her career.

A must-watch for any horror fan, the movie goes to some unexpected places and, shortly before the holidays, we had the good fortune to talk to Amanda about her role as Eve.

Given the twisty-turny nature of Some Other Woman, we started the interview by asking the actor about her reaction to the script when she sat down to read it for the first time:

"When I got sent the script, I really was not expecting to connect with it so much. What’s crazy is we shot this in 2021. It’s been a process getting it...

Tom Felton will star in the action sci-fi film Altered, which is about genetic disparity in an alternate present. Altered will be directed by Timo Vuorensola and could potentially establish Felton as a successful leading man. Altered will play at the Cannes Film Festival and is expected to be released in 2025.

Harry Potter actor Tom Felton will star in the upcoming $15 million action sci-fi movie Altered. Felton rose to global prominence when he played the role of Harry Potter's nemesis, Draco Malfoy, in the hit movie adaptations of J. K. Rowling's beloved fantasy novels. Surrey-born Felton played the role in all eight Potter movies between 2001 and 2011, and has enjoyed consistent work in film and TV since leaving the franchise, most recently starring in Joel David Moore's 2023 psychological thriller Some Other Woman.

According to Variety, Felton is set to star in Altered, described as an action sci-fi movie that will explore important themes.

Harry Potter star Tom Felton was a very popular name during his time in the much-beloved franchise where he played fan-favorite character Draco Malfoy. He made a big impression among fans with his antagonistic portrayal of the character over 8 films but since the end of the film, he has not done anything significant up to that level since the franchise’s end.

The next decade saw him appear in supporting roles in films like Belle, Risen, Megan Leavey, and A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting, but he was not the standout in any of them. Fans are already concerned that his movie career is fading away while Felton on the other hand, is venturing into his musical side of him and recently released an album. But fans are not happy with this and are totally eviscerating his album.

Searchlight Pictures’ Poor Things rounded out the top ten this weekend and American Fiction from Amazon MGM Studios continued its slow burn with both films in the running for big awards at the Golden Globes tonight.

Yorgos Lanthimos’ Poor Things starring Emma Stone grossed $2 million in week five on 750 screens for a cume of $14.2 million.

Poor Things has a raft of Globe noms for Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, Director and Original Score and acting noms for Stone, Willem Dafoe and Mark Ruffalo.

America Fiction by Cord Jefferson had a $1M+ weekend on 114 screens (up from 40) for a cume of $2.98 million. The film starring Jeffrey Wright is in week four, the latest this season to find success in a slow platform release. It’s up for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy and Best Male Actor for Wright.

Harry Potter franchise star Tom Felton, Amanda Crew (Silicon Valley), and Ashley Greene (the Twilight franchise) are giving us some very heavy Single White Female vibes in the trailer for Some Other Woman, which Collider can exclusively share today. Directed by Joel David Moore (Spiral), the psychological thriller, which is set to release only in Regal Theatres on January 5, 2024, follows one woman’s inner struggle as she begins to question everything she thinks she knows about her world and the loved ones she holds dear.

Exclusive: Ashley Greene (Twilight Saga) and Shawn Ashmore (X-Men series) are set to lead horror movie It Feeds, the first in a proposed ten-picture genre slate from LA-based companies Productivity Media Inc (Pmi) and Black Fawn Films.

Currently in production, It Feeds will tell the story of a young girl who insists that a malevolent entity is feeding on her. Greene portrays a clairvoyant therapist who must confront her own personal demons to save the girl before she is taken completely. Ashmore takes on the role of the anguished father, desperately struggling to protect his daughter.

The slate will be curated, developed and produced by Chad Archibald and Cody Calahan’s Black Fawn alongside Productivity Media. Navid McIlhargey will oversee for the latter.

Exclusive: Pitch Perfect and The Hustle star Rebel Wilson is set to star in action-comedy film Bride Hard from director Simon West (Expendables 2) for a Cannes market launch.

The film follows “badass secret agent Sam (Wilson) who has been tasked with one of her hardest missions yet – being a Maid of Honor for her childhood best friend”.

Screenplay was written by Shaina Steinberg from a story by Steinberg and CeCe Pleasants. WME Independent will handle worldwide sales.

Balcony 9 Productions will be producing and financing. Producers include Joel David Moore and Max Osswald (Some Other Woman), Cassian Elwes (Mudbound), and Colleen Camp (Knock Knock).

“Bride Hard combines action, adventure and comedy. These are genres I love to mix together. I’ve done it in the past with films like Expendables 2 or even going back to Con-Air and Tomb Raider,” said West. “I think audiences will love this. It operates on so many levels.

Exclusive: Amanda Crew, best known for playing Monica Hall on Silicon Valley, has signed with Buchwald for representation.

Crew can next be seen in Joel David Moore’s independent feature Some Other Woman opposite Tom Felton and Ashley Greene Khoury. Earlier this year, she starred in There’s Something Wrong with the Children from Blumhouse and Epix.

She recently appeared in Ricky Bates’ Tone-Deaf, which premiered in competition at SXSW, and in Daniel Roby’s Gut Instinct with Josh Hartnett and Jim Gaffigan.

Crew’s previous credits include Charlie St. Cloud, The Haunting in Connecticut, and The Age of Adaline.

She serves on the board of directors for Project Heal, a nonprofit that’s working to break down systemic healthcare and financial barriers to eating disorder healing.

The Mammoth Film Festival is set to open with Shia LeBeouf’s Padre Pio, Abel Ferrara’s historical drama that debuted at Venice.

Ferrara’s latest feature has LeBoeuf playing an Italian friar who rose to prominence at a time when fascist powers began to take over Italy. Padre Pio also stars Asia Argento, Marco Leonardi and Christina Chiriac, and director Ferrara will be at the northern California festival to do a post-film Q&a on March 2.

Mammoth will close with Bonded, which stars Diego Calva and is directed by Mohit Ramchandani. The thriller is inspired by a true story from the producers of Argentina 1985 and is executive produced by Yalitza Aparicio.

Mammoth, which is set to run from March 2 to 6 in Mammoth Lakes, California, has also added the horror thriller Night Shift, which stars Phoebe Tonkin, Lamorne Morris and Patrick Fischler and is directed and written by Benjamin and Paul China.

Sales, finance, and production outfit Radiant is handling worldwide sales for the Productivity Media film, which will world premiere at the upcoming Mammoth Film Festival.

Executive will be based in London and has worked at Electric Entertainment, Umbrella Entertainment.

With the EFM around the corner, Radiant Films International president and CEO Mimi Steinbauer has appointed Hannah Keogh international sales executive, effective immediately.

Keogh will report directly to Steinbauer and joins fellow Radiant Sales executive Karis Aldridge in the company’s London office.

She previously worked alongside the international sales team at Electric Entertainment and acquired titles such as Bad Samaritan starring David Tennant and Kerry Condon and sci-fi thriller The Deal.

Exclusive: Don Johnson (Knives Out) will star alongside Isabelle Fuhrman in Andy Tennant’s thriller Unit 234, which is currently in production in the Cayman Islands.

In the film written by Derek Steiner, a lone employee at a remote storage facility (Fuhrman) discovers an unconscious man locked inside Unit 234, chained to a gurney and missing a kidney. She must then fight to survive a ruthless gang, dead set on retrieving their precious cargo…at any cost.

Unit 234 is being produced by Blythe Frank (Wild Oats), Hadeel Reda (The Ride), Lee Dreyfuss (The Misfits) and Productivity Media’s William Santor (Stockholm) and Doug Murray (Unplugging).
