John Porter, but due to a commitment to star as Thoren Oakenshield in the upcoming Hobbit trilogy, he had to decline. The main role was then rewritten as a duo, with Philip Winchester and Sullivan Stapleton costarring as Sgt. Michael Stonebridge and Sgt. Damien Scott respectively. Armitage's character Sgt. John Porter did appear briefly in the first 2 episodes of the new series.
