Arco

Yes, I thought it was of Japanese production, so what's wrong with that - they are best in animation.. It is a nice story with some original ideas and it doesn't get boring.

The only problem I had with it was they didn't explain how they survived the fall (cloak saved them?) There were nice eco friendly notions for kids and also inter-relationship ones, like if you love someone, you just want them to be happy, selflessly..

This is a Ghibli-style animated movie that talks about our future, with a very interesting and original viewpoint because if talks about futures (plural). It has everything that makes a great movie. I don't think there was such a good quality story since Disney's Coco, even though it is probably less visually stunning than Coco and more profound and subtle than it. There is a real french / japanese sensitivity to the story itself and the sentimentalism which makes it heart moving . It has also many references to retro futuristic, fantasy animes such as Ulysses 31 or Astro boy, which I absolutely loved. Those references are there for a reason because they tell about the many profound themes that the movie successfully approaches such as travel , love, climate change, robots, compassion, hope, parenthood and friendship.

The story behind this movie is interesting and touching.

Unfortunately the animation and therelated graphic design is of a very poor quality, coping the worst example of the Asian commercial productions. Deceiving. A lost opportunity.

The low quaity of the design and of the animation structure undermine the good idea at the origin of the script . Not in line with the European tradition of European animations and not even with the best intentions of the american productions.

It would be interesting to find a new team of illustrators able to give the visual quality that this theoretical interesting project would merit.

Just got out of the theatre from seeing this beautiful little piece. It is not perfect as a whole but it is very touching and perfectly executed for a first. The director successfully creates a signature that is recognizable and new, with his design. Great story great characters. I cried a lot especially towards the end. If you're hesitant to go, do not be and watch it with an open mind and heart.

Arco is a wonderful movie for the entire family. An Animated feature with multiple themes concerning family and nature.

This film focuses on the importance of humanity's role in a future where machines do most of their work. And nature's state among the changes accruing.

Arco follows the journey of a young boy trying to return to his timeline using time travel. Along his journey he'll encounter Iris, a girl who'll help him, while learning about humanity's future.

As I've mentioned, Arco is a wonderful movie for the entire family. Focuses on many themes while also keeping a light tone for the younger audience.

I highly recommend and encourage parents to watch this movie along their kids, for all to enjoy heartwarming story.
