I liked this movie. I thougth Jesse and Rebecca told a realistic story about what women in this day and age do!! I feel like the 12 bad reviews I read were ridculous. I watched the movie from start to finish. It kept me engaged. Again, the storyline was realistic to what women do in real life to get what they want. The acting was great by all cast members. The sets, costumes, make-up were in good taste. No swearing, no immoral behavior. Great American Family made an excellent choice on showing this film. Reading the reviews made me wonder what kind of lives the writers of the bad reviews live. I liked it. Glad it was on the air!
I was looking forward to one of your premier movies. Boy was I disappointed ! I have been a big supporter of GAC and very happy about competition with hallmark. If this is any indication of what the other movies will be Hallmark has nothing to worry. This rom com was not funny not romantic and absolutely not good. The leads have no chemistry, the first 15 minutes was agony with the stupid premise. The supporting characters were terrible. It seems this movie was made in 15 minutes. I don't understand why GAC would put this garbage out. The actors are decent the wedding idea though not original was fine. Who ever wrote this movie and or directed it should not be working at GAC
Sign a value supporter but only if you guys and gals improve the quality.
I next to never write reviews for anything really. With that said, I feel like I owe it to mankind to warn them on this one. This movie from the get go, is horrifically stupid and poorly written. The plot is absolutely stupid, and the acting is terrible and there doesn't seem to be any chemistry between any of the cast. There's no music or anything to really try and help save some of the scenes. If this is what we can expect from Great American Family moving forward, we will no longer be viewers. Everyone is free to watch what they choose of course, but I'd suggest watching grass grow or paint dry before recommending anyone watch this train wreck of a movie!
Let me see: what is the opposite of "uplifting"? You need a dictionary of synonyms to qualify this production and meet the 600 words minimum requirement. A real review would be an inexcusable waste of time, second only to the time wasted watching the movie. Gross, uninspired, juvenile, idiotic, insipid, offensive, amoral, irritating, farcical, amateurish, senseless, plain stupid, misdirected, purposeless, buffoonish, demencial, inane, unreasonable, illogical, inconsistent, demeaning, are some of the adjectives that come to mind. Perhaps, one should add atrocious. I have heartily embraced GAC, expecting a paladin of clean, constructive, family friendly productions. With stuff as this, I do not see where they are heading. About the single positive reviewer, who wonders what kind of lives all others live, one must comment he/she just defined him/herself. This world is beautiful because we all are so different!
Before I address the quality of the movie, I'd like to let Darlene-Steve know that you did NOT hear what you think. The only thing that comes close to that, and what you must have misheard, is when Jesse says, "You'd have a fake name, of course! Raoul Credenza." Get your mind out of the gutter! (I'm teasing you - but no, he said nothing shocking.)
This movie was a disappointment, but never have I seen a whole string of reviewers give a movie with Jesse Hutch a "1" rating. I may be awfully cynical, but I'm going to come right out and say it: Are a bunch of people from a rival channel on here giving a bunch of "1" reviews?? Just wondering.
As to the movie, itself, the plot is a little outlandish, the writing isn't the best, it's really too unrealistic - but this can apply to many of these romances. I'm wondering if it was the director. Some of the actors - especially the insufferable sister! - play their roles as if they were in a farce. ("Haul Out the Holly" actually was a farce and - if you understood what a farce is - it was wonderful, hilarious, and the over-the-top acting was a natural fit for that movie.)
Wedding Dreams, however, is not supposed to be a farce! Jesse is a splendid actor, and he seemed so subdued in this movie that I felt he was somewhat embarrassed. He probably knew it wasn't going well. The sister overacted terribly, and the actor playing Raoul did somewhat, as well. (Again, I question the direction.) I admit, the movie is especially hard to watch at first. It improves after the annoying sister disappears from the movie for a while.
This movie will never make the "A" list, and honestly it barely makes the "C" list (Okay, maybe a "D.") But a whole bunch of "1" ratings? That seems very strange. To put it in perspective, I usually rate a movie at least a 6, and often an 8 or more. I'm giving it a 5, and if I were in a worse mood than I am I might have gone for a 4. But a 1? I don't believe that's accurate or fair for this effort.
That said, it really won't hurt you if you skip this one, unless - as I do - you just love to watch Jesse Hutch perform in almost anything.
