It's definitely not bad

Although I can't say that I'm blown away by this series, but I most definitely disagree with the negative reviews. This show is just a pretty simple and fun entertainment. Perhaps it's a bit too childish for my grown-up tastes, but people tend to forget that not every superhero story needs to appeal to a "mature" audience. Most superheroes were made for kids, not grumpy adults! Plus, the show is not TOO childish, so even the adults (parents or grown-up Superman fans) may still find it to their liking.

It's been a long time since we had such a lighthearted story about Superman, since most of his recent movies/shows/videogames are pretty grim and turn him (or characters heavily inspired by him) into an antihero or even a villain. So I'm pleased to see the trend of "good guy Superman" making a return.

Great Time to be a Superman Fan

My Adventures with Superman does an excellent job of inventing the Man of Steel for a new audience. The anime inspirations make it visually unique and give it the opportunity to design epic battles in an already detailed world. The redesigns of some popular villains were all fresh and creative, while still maintaining an air of familiarity. Given the short runtime and episode count, there isn't much time to breath or build on specific scenes, but with the time it has, the team behind it do a fantastic job at building on the relationships around Clark. The voice actors come together in a way that feels like they are in the room with you and their louder than life expressions and attitude blend perfectly with the dramatic anime styling. Between Superman & Lois, My Adventures with Superman, and the anticipation of Superman: Legacy, being a Superman fan has never been better!!

Every Clark and Lois scene is a blessing

It seems that the show may be challenging for individuals who are not familiar with watching anime. However, for those who are well-versed in the genre, there are numerous reasons to appreciate it. The series incorporates all the signature anime elements and conventions, which are often cherished by fans. In terms of content, the first two episodes serve as a strong introduction, and it is highly likely that subsequent episodes will only improve upon this foundation. I found the voice acting to be very pleasing, and the character design is also noteworthy. Overall, the show has the potential to captivate and engage viewers, especially those who are already fans of anime and Superman, this new representation really is a breath of fresh air for the character.

A return to form for the Man of Steel

The first two episodes of My Adventures With Superman captures the essence of the iconic superhero with familiar but fresh takes on supporting characters like Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen.

Although we've seen Kal El's origin numerous times (most of which have been amazing) My Adventures With Superman manages to reveal bits and pieces of the origin story throughout the first two episodes in a way that leaves the door open for future exploration of Krypton. Instead of dreading another retelling of how he came to Earth I'm looking forward to finding out more because of the "mystery" behind what Jor-El left him.

Seeing Clark, Lois, and Jimmy Olsen at start of their Daily Planet career has been fun to watch thanks to incredible cast and writing. The humor is witty and I love the relationship the three of them share. It's much better than drama that usually rifts the three apart in other iterations.

Lastly, I appreciate what has been setup narratively. New antagonists have been introduced but classic DC villains are bound to show up.

There's a lot of potential to explore the more hopeful, bright, and optimistic sides of the Last Son of Krypton that fans haven't seen in awhile. Hopefully My Adventures with Superman can continue to deliver!

Charming Superman and the creative latest show

This looks awesome and reminds me of teenagers' animated shows that were not edgy. The animation is kinda good not that much realistic but good and the overall background is super acceptable. The design is so cute I am in love with Lois.

The show is progressive towards Clarke's origins and Earth matters let's see how this show progresses because most shows in this modern world become dull in their initial runs.

Overall I say the show has his style, charisma, charm, and story and appeals to the audience, I always thought that DC is getting better in its animation line but now they reached a high level.

Thanks, Cartoon Network this time you bring something to watch and not destroy it.

The Comeback of Saturday Morning Cartoons

I saw both of these premiers on Max and I was very pleased. Great animation, talented voice acting and it brings back the great memories of Batman: The Animated Series, Superman: The Animated Series, Teen Titans, Justice League and The Brave And The Bold. This is a great start to yet another success for Adult Swim ( since it first airs on there network ), with other Amazing shows like Smiling Friends and Unicorn Warriors, plus with adult swim's new 6:00 time slot featuring the cartoon cartoon Friday shows like Dexter's Lab, Courage and Ed, Edd, Eddy. This new Superman show will fit great here and I know Superman fans will love it just as much as I did.

Felt a bit rushed but the heart is there!

My adventures with Superman definitely felt like it was trying to set-up the characters, the world and the conflict for the rest of the season during its premiere which may come off as a bit too fast paced however, the show tries to balance its rushing pace with humour and heart. This is not a deconstruction of Superman or a social commentary of what would happen if he appeared in our world but rather a heartfelt story about a boy trying to find his place in the world.

The characters are charming, the action is cool and the jokes are funny, this show definitely proves how much we have missed Supes in the animated format on our screens.

supeman reamagined

Despite there being over 80 years of superman stories, this show seems determined to take a new spin on the beloved hero, and results in a fresh, colorful world for new and old superhero fans alike to take hold of. Without taking away from what makes Superman so very special. The Japanese/American art style is a breath of fresh air from the seemingly more rigid animation from the likes of Superman the animated series and that universe (even if it may not share the very same quality and love that those shows did). I couldn't quite tell what the age demographic for a show like this is, as it is made by adult swim, but the fun bright theme of the show should allow all ages to thoroughly enjoy this fun show.

The Superman we need!

I've been waiting for a superman series like this for a while. One that shows his optimism, but also is fun. If you like spiderman then you'll love this! Lois and superman have good chemistry so far. It's not afraid to have good action or have humor. The art reminds me of a lot of anime shows I've seen. Compared to the Superman series of the 90s this could be another runner up. I like this version of superman's story because it comes off as fresh and new. It balances fun humor while also showing the interesting side of superman's history and abilities. Still more episodes coming but so far with this opening it's a 10/10.

A refreshingly earnest portrayal of Superman

After fifteen plus years of hyper-realistic, melancholy versions of classic superheroes, it's great to finally get something that's old-fashioned in the best possible way.

The people behind Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra have created another series that's not only beautifully animated but genuinely heartfelt. Clark Kent, Lois Lane and Jimmy Olson are all very likable characters even if they do remind us of Aang, Katara and Sokka.

It's also nice to have a Superman who's driven by a genuine desire to do the right thing. Unlike Zack Snyder's Supes, who had an overbearing savior complex, this Superman is a hero with heart. His clumsiness and kindness are endearing to where you really root for him when he starts battling the bad guys. It's a simple thing that the self-important people running the DC film universe seem to have forgotten.

DC has always had the edge when it came to animated series, and that streak is continued with My Adventures with Superman. I can't wait to continue watching it.

Not up to par

I need to start off by saying I grew up watching Superman the animated series, Justice League/JLU. I watched the newer animated DCAU, I love the Superman in those movies. This show...it's in the Japanese animated style where their side faces look like cats and the villains are lackluster. Also, why is Superman so weak? He's super anxious as Clark, I understand Clark is clumsy and unsure of himself but it translates to Superman too. It wasn't the worst show I've seen but it's far from "perfect" these other reviews are saying. I'd say give it a shot and make your own decision, personally I'd say 4/10.

A Great Show! We need Season 2!!!

Superman media recently has gone a bit down hill with the Snyder-verse, and Supergirl's later seasons, but this show manages to take Superman back to its roots and show us a version of him the way he was meant to be. Dorky, hopeful, fun, and a genuinely good person just trying to use his abilities for good. It has a way of introducing us to characters that we only get bits and pieces of and making us care deeply about them, along with taking information we know and making it seem like some big secret. The villains could be better (especially Chris Parnell's Deathstroke), but overall, it's the best Superman media we've gotten in the last 5 years, combined with absolutely fantastic animation, a great voice cast, and an amazing writing team that does an amazing job. I hope we get a season 2 and beyond.

Best Superman cartoon since the animated series. Maybe even better than it.

It's been almost thirty years since we had a solo Superman cartoon. (There was Legion of Superheroes but that doesn't count). I think of My Adventures of Superman in the same terms of The Batman (the cartoon from the 2000s not the movie). We're they redesign everything, that at first it looks unrecognizable, but when you watch it the stories and the characters are their. Personally I love that it has the same art style as as the new she-ra. (That show was really good). With its anime influence and everything. My only nitpick is the trunks since I'm a fan of not having the trunks on Superman, but I can live with that.

Watching this show will definitely the highlight of my week and I can't wait for the rest of this season and the next.

Pretty good

Entertaining with great Japanese/American style art showing the origins of Clark becoming Superman. My kids really enjoyed watching the new show. It really balances out the focus of the story so that Jimmy and Louis get equal development time. So far the shows begin with flash backs to his childhood which then grown up Clark explores or provides an answer to the show. I would say that it is fair treatment to the character and does it in a family friendly way so far. Looking forward to seeing the whole season and how the relationships develop. I need 53 more characters to finish this review 3210.

A Promising Start!

There's only three episodes as of my writing this. But I am so excited to see Superman at his beginning!

Clark starting at The Planet at the same time as Lois and Jimmy is a perfect setup. They all get to grow together. Each of our main trio is unique and I'm looking forward to watching their character arcs as the show continues. I especially like the dynamic they've set up between Lois and Clark. It's perfect!

On another note, I absolutely love the animation style! It's different from what we've had before with other DC animated projects. The anime influence is obvious, but it's a fun change for the superhero.

A good superman show.

Big DC fan here, Superman is a hard character to write these days. It takes a fresh outlook to make The Man of Steel feel fresh. This show does it rather well I believe. It's hopehul and optimistic as a good Superman should be. I gave it a 7 instead of 8 because it's anime inspired, there's some tropes and story beats that seem like they're in a manga, they're not hiding this (The Name of the Show, is a giveaway on that), or being lazy, but Manga just isn't for me. Another big part of the story is the will they/won't they of Clark and Lois Lane, which again isn't really my flavor, but it may be yours. Anyways check this out for the same reason you'd check out any other Superman content, to get a big dumb grin, and believe in humanity slightly more.

This show is really good

You guys need to start leaving higher reviews to offset the low scores because this show is excellent. The main characters are funny and interesting, the pacing is very good, and the diversity is done really well. This is a superhero show everyone can enjoy.

I really appreciate the voice acting because the characters feel very real and their dialogue is not corny in a bad way, it is corny in a good way. I think the antagonists could have been characterized better, but you cant get everything right. The important thing is making the main characters enjoyable to watch, and they really are. I just hope Jimmy becomes less of a comic relief character.

So anyway, now that ive reached the character limit, please leave high reviews for this show so we can get more like it.

Awesome

I'm glad to see anime is making some great influences. I hope the new dc snimation templates this look.

I really hope this style of art spreads. This show has captured some real soulful superman moments!

There is alot to like here. I like the brighter version of super. And the darker aspects are quippy. The harley Quinn show and this one are the new and best highlights of DC.

I also appreciate the immediate attraction Lois feels for Clark. Instead of playing hard to get and flippant. What is the deal with all the required characters? I just wanted to shoot of a sentence or two about how important superman is for western culture and happy they did him good. And scoot.

I was hopeful, but in the end...no

First off, there's things I do like about this series - Superman is portrayed nearly perfectly portrayed (sometimes he's a bit too passive, but he is learning on the go), this Lois is a treat and portrayed as damn smart; her dopplegängers, though, not so much. Jimmy takes all of the hyper, hustling parts of the original and rolls them into a funny sidekick, though he's more lightweight than I like. I loved the way M. Mallah and the Brain were handled.

But then we have the rest. The frankly tedious Task Force X stuff that we've seen over and over and here turns into kid-size torture porn. A Slade Wilson who's an unremitting psycho. The awful portrayal of Sam Lane as a slow-talking thug who seems short of brainpower. The whole "hated and feared by a world he's sworn to protect" stuff that was old hat in 1969. The plan to save the world that's more dangerous than the situation it supposedly tackles. Yet another Dire Cosmic Threat - Brainiac? Zod? Both? Who cares?

And another godsdamned Mystery Box. Jor-El can't make himself understood! What's the connection to the attempted invasion? Why has no-one ever investigated the giant spaceship buried in a Kansas cornfield? It's okay, we'll answer that in season 2. Or we won't. What's behind all of those murderous multiversal Supermen? How is the League Of Lois Lanes able to traverse the multiverse? Season 2! Or not.

So...disappointed.

Superman is best when he's more Man than Super, and this show Nails It!

This series is more of an origin story of superman starting from when he first moves to Metropolis and joins the Daily Plant. Joined by Jimmy Olsen and Lois Lane he slowly discovers new aspects to his powers beyond his stength, flight, and speed, and discovers more about where he's from, what he is, and what his place is in the world. This series focuses more on who superman is and his daily life than with his super heroics (though there is plenty of that too). I mean, it's in the title "My Adventures with Superman" isn't just talking about Lois and Jimmy, it's talking about Clark too.

Every character in this series is unique, has their own personality, and their own room to grow as people. They're all also wildly entertaining. For Clark Kent they really went deep into the whole mild-mannered aspect and really shows that he's a farmers kid from Kansas. He's hopeful, optomistic, doesn;t like lying or cheating, and is a bit socially awkward. Essentially, he's the last guy you would ever suspect of being Superman, which is perfect.

Lois Lane is feisty, driven, but still has heart and most importantly, when she goes too far or is wrong, she admits it and genuinely apologizes (which is strangely rare in modern media). Basically, she has a personality, goals, flaws, and compassion. I was expecting the typical character that just has "strong femal lead" written as their personality that seems so prevalent nowadays, but she really shines and is really a co-star rather than just being "the love interest".

Jimmy Olsen has his own goals of being a photographer and revealing the "truth" about E. T.'s and other paranormal phenomenon. They haven't focused too much on his character yet, but just the small window we've been given shows a lot of potential.

The Animation style of this series is top knotch. It has the combined Western/Anime feel that's seen in Invincible and Legend of Korra. The reactions of the characters are shown very well, and the action scenes pack a punch.

The Voice acting of the series a a real highlight. I cannot praise the VA's enough. Literally every character so far has had a unique voice, their lines are delivered naturally, and the inflections are perfect in a way that turns regular throw away lines into masterpieces! Seriously, I cannot praise the VA's enough on this one.

TL;DR This series is amazing in all aspects. Characters, animation, story, voice acting. I highly recommend this show to anyone and everyone.

I kind of don't want to get too invested in the show only because if the series gets cancelld after 1 or 2 seasons (as many amazing shows do), then the blow will be lessened.
