jeen-yuhs: Una trilogía de Kanye West

Loving this look at Ye's life. You come to realize where this magnificent confidence and ego came from and rise to fame and success despite industry obstacles. It's endearing to watch and kudos to his friend that chronicled his life. Can't believe it's a film essentially composed almost exclusively of old footage.

As a fan of Kanye and someone who's favorite music album of all time is The College Dropout, I had mixed feelings about his personal antics over time and I kept wondering how much of that I would see in this documentary.

I wouldnt say much but I'd say this, with everything going on with Kanye right now in 2022, this was a solid reminder that behind all the fanfare, he is a human being grounded in humility and exceptional talent. I needed this reminder and I think everyone else needs it too.

I must say, when I first heard about this docuseries, I thought to myself, "yet another puff piece". But I was pleasantly surprised at how well it was put together. How well the struggle was captured, and how the world got to see a side of Kanye that many have chosen to ignore, the musical genius.

I have renewed respect for the man, even though I knew of his accolades in the music production scene, I get it now.

A very well put together documentary that shows how and where it all begun, and progressed. I encourage everyone to watch this, despite of your feelings about Kanye.

Last but not least, this highlights my take and passion for something I feel doesn't get enough attention, mental health.

The first two parts which focus around Kanye making The College Dropout are electric. There's lot of amazing candid footage, and it's incredible seeing how much work went into that masterpiece. The final part changes the tone and depicts the troubles Kanye's been having recently. It's raw and honest. You see him in the middle of manic episodes and it's disturbing.

It's pretty great overall if you're even a little bit interested in Kanye. It seems mostly honest in it's depiction, and it's interesting seeing small quirks present at the beginning of his career take him over. There's a lot of talk about God and Christianity, especially towards the end, which can get off-putting if you're not religious.

This film is incredible, and for anyone who is even aware of Kanye West, this is a must see.

The first "act" in this trilogy paints a portrait of a man certain of his stardom, desperately searching for someone willing to open the door for him. Kanye wasn't an industry plant. In fact, this documentary shows that nearly everyone in the industry was perfectly content with him sitting on the sidelines. No one wanted to give him a record deal.

Even through rejection though, Kanye never stopped believing that he was destined for greatness. With the support of his mother, a few friends, and his own ego, we watch Ye carve a place for himself in music history.

For any artist trying to break through into any industry, this is documentary is truly inspiring.
