Unfortunately, the lead in this film is weak, wooden and more interested in pouting her mouth than providing some proper acting on a serious subject. She seems in a dream half the time and her attempt at being emotional falls completely flat, therefore my interest was lacking. The film covers a subject, which is unsettling and distressing - child battery. There was a strong attempt from the director and other actors in this film to make it work however with a lead who is unconvincing it is never going to reach its full potential. Good acting from her manager who is really hard nosed which is believable as she has to raise money for the hospital where the film is set. Also some fantastic acting from the lawyer character later in the film. I won't say anymore but for me it just didn't work let down by a poor actress miscast in a role where someone else could've done a much better job. A missed opportunity there is more I could say about the other actors but watch it for yourself, for example the person who is responsible for the child abuse.
