Bob & Doug

I give this an 8 out of 10 for the following reasons: the animation isn't great but the animation in South Park isn't great either. So I can forgive that. And the jokes are pretty good. I think this show brought Bob and Doug into the new millennium pretty well. I mean in "Strange Brew" and their little 2 minute shows on SCTV, they really had no friends - or life, for that matter. But in this show some new characters were created and I like all of them a lot. Dennis is my favorite. And Rupert is pretty hilarious too. And even Henry Chow and Dwight make me laugh. So all in all, I thought this show was pretty good. But of course, very few Canadian shows that don't get a U.S. sale end up in the dumper. Canada just won't take a flier on their own stuff. Too bad. This show deserved a chance.

I have loved Bob and Doug McKenzie my whole life and really anything to do with them I'm pretty much automatically going to love. This animated series is not as good as their live action stuff or their album but it is still really funny and amazing. It's so fun to see these characters pop up again any time in any fashion. Go Bob & Doug!

This version of Bob and Doug McKenzie is not as terrible as I think a lot of people are making it out to be but it definitely is not a great show either, I am not one bit surprised that this show did not last very long as a TV show, it is too bad though because I really hoped it would do well and hopefully be as funny as the original Bob and Doug McKenzie movie especially was (Strange Brew from like 1983 or whatever) and also their old sketches where the characters first got their starts as a joke about Canadian Content Laws back on SCTV series before that. Of course after all those years they are older and probably lost a step and Rick Moranis retired and everything, it won't be as good, also not much in the world would possibly be as good as the hilarious Bob and Doug and Strange Brew were, but I wish it was a little better because these characters and these actors deserved better.

I think its pretty good. I had my doubts that it could live up to the original Bob and Doug, especially when I found out about Bob McKenzie being replaced (although whats-his-face isn't too bad..I couldn't tell the difference at first) It keeps the original comedy of the Great White North sketches in narrative cut scenes by Bob and Doug, while also focusing on their lives, which I think is a pretty good idea.

The modern day humor takes some getting use to. It tends to imitate the comedy style of Family Guy and South Park a little too much. (with graphic violence and satirical humor..though the jokes are a bit 'cleaner')

But all and all, I'd say its decent enough. It's probably the first Canadian adult-humored animated series and if you're Canadian you'll most likely appreciate the jokes. If you're a long time Bob and Doug fan, like I said, the modernized humor takes some getting use to, but it isn't that major and Bob and Doug seem quite in character. Its good for a few laughs to say the least.

First of all I am a huge fan of the Real Bob and Doug McKenzie. However this is not like SCTV or Strange Brew, this is the pinnacle of crap.

The Voices are way off, Bob is not even close and is done by someone else. Rick Mooranis was the only Bob. It is annoying too hear how bad the voices are.

The animation is also horrible and it looks incredibly low budget when it shouldn't be. The jokes are not even funny. It is so distant from what it was. Do yourself a favor if you are a Bob and Doug McKenzie fan. Keep away from this and remember them how they were, not for what this crap is. I hope they cancel it soon and replace it with something better. This is the crap that gives Canadian film a bad name.
