If you are looking for excitement, don't look here. This well made apocalyptic film is very slow moving as life probably would be if you were the last person alive on Earth and that is what this film is about. I truly expected this to be a piece of junk, but it is more than that, though there are quite a few issues. Through near constant narration we learn we are told that first there was a pandemic that killed billions followed by a war that killed the rest. Later we hear about what sounds like an alien invasion. Perhaps that is who the war was with?! It is never made clear. The narration itself could also be a bit better, but cinematography is quite good and the acting by the lead, Natalia Reyes, is very strong much of the time. It's a hard role to pull off being the only person on screen, though later joined by a German Shepard. It's about a solitary life among the ruins leaving us with just her and the dog. There is an enormous question hanging over this that is never answered. Why only her? What makes her so special? I did really like the last scene which implies that this is the beginning of a new world.

I gave the lengthy (what I thought was going to be a prelude to a plot and/or action) beginning of the film the benefit of the doubt. That was because I am a fan of the genre, and because the actress performed well with what she was given.
Unfortunately, her performance was the only plus. Well, I added a third star because I love dogs, and her co-star helped rescue the movie from utter oblivion.
Few actors can carry a film that's essentially a monologue, especially one with a politically correct theme. She did decently with that enormous challenge, but the plot never proved convincing, and the ending simply didn't deliver.
Sad... I really did want to like it.

What an amazing film!!! I haven't seen this kind of genre in both English and Spanish. The history seams so real and original, the director did an excellent job. He got the best of his actress and honestly they are very talented artists . I have seen a few films from Alfonso Quijada and they are great !! This film is different and very unusual. I believe it's the first Latin movie, at least that I've seen and I just love it. I'm impressed and proud that this great Director Alfonso Quijada and actress Natalia Reyes achieved such a wonderful film. It's great to know that there are some really talented artists in the Latin film industry.

"Tomorrow Before after" is an astonishing post-apocalyptic film that delivers a gripping and emotionally charged experience. The film centers on the harrowing journey of a lone woman and her loyal dog, who are on the brink of sanity in a desolate world. The story takes a powerful turn when the protagonist discovers she is pregnant, forcing her to confront the enormity of her new reality and the hope she carries for repopulating the earth.
The lead actress delivers a stellar performance, portraying her character's vulnerability, resilience, and inner strength with remarkable depth. Her chemistry with the dog is heartwarming and genuine, providing a touching counterpoint to the harshness of their surroundings. The film's cinematography skillfully captures the bleakness of the environment while highlighting moments of profound beauty and hope.
"Tomorrow Before After" excels in its exploration of human endurance and the instinct to protect and nurture life even in the darkest times. The narrative is both haunting and uplifting, weaving a tale of survival, redemption, and the enduring power of hope. It's a cinematic experience that will leave audiences reflecting on the strength of the human spirit long after the credits roll.

This is a saga and, I can definitely see this chapter as a Love it or hate it one. It is not everyone who would have the set of mind of sitting down to watch just a couple of characters interact and specially, watching one of them while she loses her mind due to bizarre yet, understandable situations.
I took this movie as an empathetic path of walking the characters' journey with her; as a human, as a woman, as a mother. Also, it is a game of wondering since you must keep your mind open to not getting all the answers.
We are used to all too fast, too full and, sometimes, too obvious content. This movie definitely has a different angle.
I can also appreciate a movie of this technical level being brought to Colombia with so much love. I had the privilege of listening first hand, at the Cartagena 62nd Film Festival, how this movie was shot during the pandemic and under quite extreme circumstances.

From start to finish this movie keeps you captivated by the story of a woman who finds herself alone after a great destruction on the planet. The film allows the audience to feel what would happen in the event that a person was left alone as the only survivor. The actress, through her performance, manages to convey the emotions of a human being when she finds herself alone in the world, with no one around her to talk to, interact with or ask for help, she only finds a dog who becomes her best company and friend. It is a film that has great production values, from the script, direction, acting, sound, music, effects and photography. Definitely a great piece of the film industry produced and filmed in Colombia.

...what... I watched Alfonso Quijada's first movie The Whisper of Silence a couple of days ago and I had to watch his next movie! And... what? Is this guy for real? Where does he gets his ideas? Both films are rare... unique but as I get to know Quijada I see that he is either smoking some serious stuff or he is from another planet. I love this film. Natalia Reyes sure steps up as a solo actress, a long way from the generic Tim Miller Terminators ... no, this is another leve of performace. The art direction is impressive and I need to see more from the art director, Colombian Hernan Garcia! A film that requieres indulging its thought provoking agenda. Yes, agenda... for there way more behind that one can persive.

Within the framework of the Icaro Festival in El Salvador, the film "Tomorrow Before After, directed by its writer Alfonso Quijada was premiered.
The plot evokes the permanent duality between life and death. But what kind of life? Natalia Reyes, the protagonist of the film, puts us in its marrow, thus showing us fear, anger, uncertainty, labor pain, anguish, madness and lucidity... light, hope, the second chance.
Lobo, the dog that accompanies her, fills us with undefeated solitude because in fact, if there is a God, he has the eyes of Lobo and God forgives everything, like him... it is loyal companionship, it is nobility and perennial care.
The teddy bear is, for me, a key piece. Please, do not lose sight of the object of attachment, object of confidentiality, object of memory and announcement of that "it will come." Will humanity have to reach a post-apocalyptic world to realize that the second chance is now? To love hard, with all that we have and are, despite the ghosts and voices that besiege us. Plant with love for ourselves and those who come.... to be is already.
Thank you, Alfonso, for your wonderful work. So full of sensitivity.

I think this movie explores very well a character that discovered that she is alone in this world after an apocalypse. The decadence and the madness of the character show us that the human mind can be very fragile but at the same time can be very strong.
Natalia Reyes and the director Alfonso made a great job convincing us that world destruction can be possible and that after all is the only thing we need to care about.
The cinematography sometimes give us the sensation that we are in horror movie and I think it would have been better to have more static shots of Natalia and maybe more intimate shots so we can be with her more time and understand her more.
The direction and the acting is grate and I can tell that there was a hard job behind all this master piece.

More than a movie, Tomorrow Before After is an encounter with our fears, but also with our hope.
From the beginning to the end it makes us think on how self-destructive we can be, but also on the wonderful power we have to start over and transform our destiny.
The sound and its soundtrack become the perfect partner for Natalia, helping us to feel firsthand the internal struggle of the protagonist.
Apocalyptic locations, impeccable art direction and a great cinematography, show us that Colombia is a perfect place to produce movies.
When we reach the last scene of the film, we can understand that the end is nothing more than the opportunity to start over.

I absolutely loved this movie. Every shot was incredibly detailed, with beautiful cinematography. The sound was superb. The acting was amazing. Natalia Reyes (Terminator: Dark Fate) is a phenomenal actor. I love that this movie was filmed in Spanish and in English at the same time which is something that has hardly been done before. What an amazing job. This movie will keep you wondering what happened and will keep you wanting more in the end. I'm totally looking forward to seeing the next part of this saga. I hope we don't have to wait too long. The next movie in this Saga I'm sure we will be taken to an amazing journey.

It makes me wonder if Hollywood is more dead than Vaudeville, as audiences seem to crave films that take them on a meaningful journey, offering peace and reflection. Films like this have incredible power in their simplicity, delivering profound and beautiful messages.
People are yearning for something different, and Hollywood is losing its way, bogged down by repetition and a lack of heart. These kinds of films represent the future of real cinema.
A writer ahead of his time. Waiting for the next chapters where I'm sure Quijada will take us into a formidable journey.
Tomorrow Before After, if watched properly touches the most fundamental part of being human.

Here's an incredible and detailed story that keeps you wondering what's going to happen next. It was written and produced by a very talented director, Alfonso Quijada. Only one actress and a dog are present through the entire film, only until the very end. Excellent Acting! Outstanding and super talented Natalia Reyes did an amazing job. Excellent sound, incredible music, and visuals. It's hard to express my feelings with words. The end of the movie is the most interesting part, because it makes you wonder what's going to happen next. I can't wait to see the sequel. I hope it'll come out very soon.

I was surprised by the level of production value of this film shot in Colombia and the incredible performance by the lead actress, Natalia Reyes. I saw this film at the 62nd Cartagena International Film Festival, as one of the special presentations of the festival and I was happy to see this type of film and the great response from the audience, particularly, the opinion of Tim Miller, who could not stop talking about Natalia formidable acting job... but, indeed, her work is impecable. The art direction is beautiful as well as the cinematography -- overall you can tell the director was clear about his message and his specific choice of living so many questions unanswered to be revealed in the next chapters of this saga.

Alfonso Quijada's Tomorrow Before After is a powerful testament to his journey as an artist. Known for his ability to infuse deep emotion into every frame, Quijada has created a visually stunning post-apocalyptic world that feels both intimate and vast. His direction here is nothing short of masterful, guiding the audience through a story that is as much about survival as it is about the resilience of the human spirit.
Natalia Reyes delivers an extraordinary performance, embodying her character with such depth and vulnerability that you can't help but be drawn into her struggle. Her ability to convey a wide range of emotions with subtlety and strength adds a layer of intensity to the film that resonates long after the credits roll.
A surprising standout is Blake Lobo, the dog who plays a pivotal role alongside Reyes. His presence adds warmth and companionship in an otherwise desolate world, serving as both a protector and a symbol of hope.
Quijada's film is a haunting exploration of isolation, but it's the emotional connections between Reyes and Blake Lobo that truly elevate it, making Tomorrow Before After a memorable and moving experience.

Particularly if the viewer is a fan of dystopian future/post-apocalyptic movies, Tomorrow Before After is a movie worth our time. The narrative is not spectacular, and although there is a message worth listening to, it is not groundbreaking insightful. What we are presented with, instead, is a heroine, alone, despondent, with fractured questions, perhaps, survivor's guilt and a character seemingly living in a day-to-day modus operandi that might just barely guarantee her and her unborn's survival. We sit and watch not only the decaying world our heroine lives in, displayed in Alfonso Quijada's wonderful cinematography, but where this world is visited by the wonderful acting of Natalia Reyes Gaitan's complex approach to her, frustrating at times, but ultimately likable character. The movie, although introducing, maybe unnecessarily, unanswered misteries here and there, is very likely a study of what life could be like, for some, if we as social creatures were to be deprived of that umbrella of protection we call "having someone to share our lives with, having company," and that alone is worth our time.
