What's up with the music?

This could have been a much better movie if it wasn't for that irritating music that played the whole time. Actors were not too bad and story was good.

Well one person was in love

Now we all know what these hallmark romance movies are about. And I must say it is a guilty pleasure when I want heart warming family movie that makes one believe in love. However this movie was sabotaged by the leading actress. You need believability and an innocent spark from each of the leading characters. But this actress came off as flat. No spark. No chemistry. Furthermore her character just kept whining about her career. The movie left me glad she was fired and left me wishing I could have fired her from the leading role. There are so many Bette hallmark movies with the same formula. This one didn't work because of the leading actress.

Wine & Romance, the perfect match!

There might be a little dust on the bottle, but don't let it fool you about what's inside! Yes, quoted from the lyrics of a song by country artist David Murphy. That's what this sweet romantic drama reminded me of. It was just good, not too special and not too memorable. It was sweet how the little boy wanted to take over the winery when he grew up and how we wanted to learn everything about it. Scott Elrod is a hot actor too with beautiful eyes. It wasn't one of my favorites from Hallmark, but it had its own flare of charm. I thought the hair and make-up in the professional work atmosphere was done very well. Usually those guys and girls don't get a lot of praise for the work they do, so here's to them. Everyone looked very good. I loved the women's hair styles up and down in this one. Nice work! It's worth a viewing. Oh and the beginning of the movie it was celebration a new year, so I thought the viewing of this one would be more appropriate right after the new year or right on New Year's Eve.

More serious than the usual Hallmark movie

Less silly than the usual Hallmark movie this movie has fairly serious people dealing with real problems. A chef single dad and a workaholic financial woman form a friendship as they help each other. More gradual and eyes open than usual. Like the way she isn't that easygoing with his kid. Saving a winery is the task here.

Julie Benz is slightly above the average TV movie standard so she elevates things. Like Jobeth Williams - she should act more.

No spark

This is another movie without a lot of spark, no big highs or lows. The story was a bit different for the save-the-company plot device. Actually there was save the company and save the winery.

The early part of the movie included some backstabbing corporate junk which was a little heavier than I'm used to from Hallmark, but I don't think this is Hallmark. Actually there are some moments speaking about faith which is strongly implied as religious faith, although the religion wasn't terribly specific. The family went to church. Other than a scene or two, there wasn't a lot of this.

Julie Benz was a bit too stiff and Scott Elrod was friendly but not overly demonstrative. The chemistry was weak. In fact there was probably more between Benz and the little boy.

The overall story was predictable.

Enjoyable movie

I'm an old geezer, and I actually enjoyed this film. Agreed, not the best acting, but the story was good. Somewhat sappy in places, also agree, but the thing that I liked the most was the cat and mouse action between Scott and Julie, both knowing the attraction was there, but neither willing to step out to be the first to declare themselves. How many of us have missed opportunities to connect with someone just because we were afraid to be the first to say something?? I did get tired of Elliot Gould in this one, and the sappy Roger that from the boy, but overall, the film had a "home feel" to it. Two people who obviously liked each other, but neither could broached the "being first to say something". I prefer this type of movie over the so-called realism movies of cuss words, vulgarity, vacuous sex scenes, violence, etc. I see enough of this in the news and other media, I would like to enjoy "movies" that have a high road to it.

No Romance...No Drama

Romance? Drama? OOOH PLEEEEASE!!!! As far as dramas go, this lacked in every aspect of the genre. The characters were unrealistic not portraying the corporate world but more like department store managers living in a fantasy of having an important job. The life situations may be real but to think real life plays out this way is why little girls grow up and become disappointed in life...this was not real life but fantasies for a trailer trash looser who wants a better life. As soon as you think there is some development and interaction of the characters, this movie spoils it with unlike real life script. I usually come upon scenes in a movie where I say sarcastically "Just like real life" and everyone in the room snaps back to reality and laughs. Every scene in this movie beckoned me to say "Just like real life" A romance? NOT! No emotion or passion. The main characters showed no sign of a romantic, affectionate involvement with each other but centered on a perfect child that never could be found in real life. This was not a journey that love takes through courtship, but a one night stand without the sex. A romance film should make the love story the main plot focus but without the real to life drama, you are left with a failing business being saved by the heroin.

Fantasy is healthy and aids in human development, that is were this movie genre falls into, Fantasy" without true love, feelings or real life situations. Uncorked takes you to that netherworld places where events are unlikely to occur in real life.

A movie just for the fun of watching - don't think so much.

I enjoyed this movie very much and can relate to it. When I watch a movie, I don't tear it apart. I enjoyed watching a movie for the enjoyment of just watching something entertaining. I like a movie where the father has deep concern for his child (not so in my own life). I also liked the idea of a woman in power telling her boss (Debra) that she quit (would not be stepping on any more "little" people). I had to quit my job because I was under the thumb of such a woman and I had had enough. I liked the idea of a chef and a big time financial adviser making it as a couple. Would love to see it put into DVD form and would also like to see Hallmark do a sequel with the SAME actors. I live not too far from where the movie was filmed and would like to know the filming locations. Some day I might like to take a drive and actually see them. I AM A FAN.

Unwatchable due to background music!!!

I tried to watch this movie because I enjoy simple sweet Hallmark movies now and again to relax and get away from the trash on other stations. At first it seemed like a nice story line until I realized something was weird. Someone decided to add background music throughout the entire movie to the point where we were struggling to hear the dialog. It was ridiculous!!!! I was so annoyed, I had knots in my stomach and had to shut it off at the 30 minute mark. I do hope this is not a new policy with Hallmark. If so, I will not be able to watch their movies anymore. It would be very disappointing. DON'T BOTHER WATCHING THIS MOVIE!!!!

Everything is wonderful in the corporate America! Wow! How bad was this movie?

What kind of people would watch this and enjoy it I really can't imagine, unless they are deluded head in the sand Ostriches who only ever peak at the real world when something shiny is pointed in their direction. This is more like an ad for look how wonderful corporate executives are in their botoxed bubblegum worlds. You seriously have to be a real dummy to fall for this trash, but sadly there are a lot of dummies out there and that's why this movie was made. It honestly made me want to vomit and Elliott Gould what are you playing at? The fact you are in this mammon worshipping movie proves you are just like it i.e. all about the money even though it pretends it isn't.

Good Family Film

I know this movie didn't get great reviews but I liked this enjoyable family film. Maybe more family films out of Hollywood wouldn't be a bad idea! Oh gee no bad language, no sex, or no violence what a novel idea in a movie.
