'Moonhaven' is a diverting sci-fi series on some levels, and I definitely admire its effort to try something new.
While it isn't an especially strong story, and there are definitely some silly devices (like a dull terrorist with a Mohawk)... I do like the eco-utopian nature of the Moon community. I also enjoyed the discussions about humanity's destructive nature, and the need to fundamentally reset this and to live differently. It feels like a story rooted in 1960s sci-fi novels, which were frequently optimistic and depicted utopian, even hippy, futures.
But one major gripe - the name of the main protagonist is 'Bella Sway', which is distracting. It's clearly far too close to 'Bella Swan' from 'Twilight'. Not that I care about 'Twilight'. But the book is famous. And it'd like creating a new sci-fi or fantasy series with a character called 'Luke Skyrunner'. Or 'Harry Porter'. Or 'Katniss Evergreen'. Why make such an egregious fumble? It's so unnecessary and seems like a deliberate nod - despite the stories being nothing alike.

I think you people are missing the point.
No, it's not bad acting, or bad CGI or what ever you happened to whine about.
Yes, Moonies are strange and come across like annoying hippies who say and do strange things and behave like lunatics. That's the whole point! I think they play it rather well.
I agree, the angry pilot chick from Earth is extremely unlikable and behaves like sociopath. But that's the whole point - Earth is gone off the deep end! Everyone is probably like that or worst.
Why do expect them to have those same values like you have today? Behave like you do? Try traveling. Different cultures, different values, different social ques etc. And you do not even need to get off world.
Very few sci-fi books and films actually pay attention to this - people, situations etc have to come across a bit unusual or even awkward for us.
Put it like this, If you could time-travel 100 year back in time and behave the way you do today, everyone will think there is something seriously wrong with you. It works both ways.

To put it in perspective, The Expanse (10/10) had to shop to extend their seasons after SyFy cancelled them, and had to beg for a rushed/very short final season to give fans a bit of closure. Moonhaven is ponderous to watch, and these days get all the life and financing, regardless of fan response.
I don't get all the hate. I was almost scared to watch after reading all the bad reviews. Well the trailer looked so good that I did try watching. I've watched the first 3 episodes and I'm enjoying it. It is a little slow but definitely holds my attention. I'm going to keep watching because it definitely seems to have potential. Give it a try!
I'll admit I was surprised by the first episode of this show and I nearly stopped watching at that point. But there was a certain vibe to it that kept me on the hook and I persisted.
This is one of the most original sci-fi shows I've seen in a long time and like many shows that have that unique flare to them, they are misunderstood. There's no way this series deserves its current score and I suspect that people who didn't give it a chance would mark it up if they watched all six episodes.
Yes, there's some weird ideas on the show, but so what? And yes, the 'mooner' speak weirdly, but it's set several hundred years in the future - if you were to listen to someone from the year 1800, they'd sound pretty funny too.
The show has a great plot that makes you slowly invest in the characters. There are some great concepts in here too, based around the all-powerful I/O computer. The CGI is top notch too.
In short I don't suppose they'll renew this because it's not getting the numbers they need. And that will be s a shame because everyone always whinges about the lack of originality in TV shows and then when something original does come along they think it's weird and don't watch it.
Anyway - it gets a big thumbs up from me. Great concept, well executed, well scripted and acted. I just wish there was more effort to push the margins like Moonhaven does.
