Harry Hill's Lonely Island

This might be... no it is the worse. The worse... thing there has never been ever ever ever on British television in the history off anything anytime ever.. whoever signed off on this should do time in jail... its utter criminal how bad this is.. once you've seen this you have to rip your telly off the wall and burn it because it will never be the same again.. its just not fair on the telly.... end its life and end it straight away... Harry Hill is about as funny as stubbing your toe on a new born babies umbilical cord while humming Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of The Moon" (full album) watch this if you dare.. watch this if your life has no meaning.. watch this and pour salt in your eyes... you have been warned..

This actually makes me angry knowing that the BBC paid to have this made!

It has an awkwardness about it that is cringe worthy, like somebody trying to make a kid laugh that isn't very good with kids. It made me think about physical comedy and I have just rewatched some old Mr Bean episodes, which I probably have not seen for 15 years or so. Mr Bean may not be your style of comedy but nobody can argue the amount of thought and pure cleverness that went into execute those sketches.

This is so far from any originality or indeed funniness I am actually encouraging people to watch it, as it is shocking for me to consider people were actually paid to make this.

There can be an argument had for "silliness for the sake of silliness" but this isn't that. its simply lazy.

Harry Hill's series of short vignettes produced in the plague years are fairly standard for him, with a dose of classical slapstick - but they lack any huge belly laughs or pathos. In fact, I'd venture that all of these put together mean much less than the short film he made for Grayson Perry around the same time for his art club where Hill emotionally hugged a tree with a picture he'd drawn of his mum stuck to it. These are more standard surreal fare - although it's a shame the final episode was delayed for a year due to perceived sensitivities over the simple act of the queen rogering a fox in a tent.

This is the kind of Harry Hill comedy I love, and have been waiting for the past 20 years. Harry Hill used to put together some surreal and hilarious sketches on his Channel 4 shows. Stouffer the cat, confusing badger based sitcoms, the controller of C4, crazy and brilliant.

These short sketches are Harry at is best, thoroughly enjoyable and lots of fun. Non-offensive, harmless and kind - they had our whole family laughing. From our four year old son, all the way up to a sceptical wife who has been dragged across London to see a questionable Sky One Harry Hill show.

I hope this is a sign of some great Harry Hill things to come on the BBC.
