    Intentionally Misleading

This movie attempts to paint independent retail investors (average people) as traders coordinating to destroy the market. It ignores the fact that hedge funds and market makers continue to exploit loopholes to defraud retail investors of billions of dollars, while destroying legitimate companies (such as through death spiral financing, cellar-boxing, and under-reported swaps). These are the same people responsible for the Great Financial Crisis, using the same tricks, because they were never held accountable. Instead, average people were made to bail them out.

The movie conveniently neglects to mention that this is an ongoing situation in which the "big fish" are still trapped, and that leads to the goal of the whole "documentary": To mislead you into thinking that the whole "GameStop Saga" has concluded. It hasn't. That's what the GME movement is about: Register your shares in your name and prove that Wall Street has produced counterfeit shares.

Not for knowing what happened, but for mild entertainment

I have no horse in this race but I was active on the wsb and superstonk subreddits to know they didn't present the whole thing. First off I just hate when documentaries and movies like the big short assume that people would lose interest if they explained things like shorting, margin calls or any other things that are central to the story. I don't want a chef or Margot Robbie or some distraction to be fed the critical information that I need for understanding the documentary. Secondly the interviews in this 'documentary' in particular makes Liam Neeson's action scenes look like a one take cinematic masterpiece. They are so chopped up they are the equivalent of a ransom note. Like let the guy speak for a minute would you? Third even though I can't definitively say this documentary is biased to the one side, it sure seemed like they omitted or brushed past lots of relevant details especially surrounding Robinhood and the big banks. I don't know if they interviewed some people to represent the day traders and redditors and they chose the guy who would be a clear opposite in contrast to the Wall Street guys or what but I cringed watching that interview and thought this guy must be hired or the video highly edited.

I don't live in the US and have never participated in anything resembling a stock market and I could clearly see this needed a lot of input before airing. Don't watch this to know about the GameStop saga. The best thing about this documentary is that if you suffer from insomnia this really helps you get some good nap right infront of your tv. It also creates a conducive environment to just leave it on and have sex with your partner. In some ways this documentary is one step backward for documentary film making but one giant leap in therapy.

    Only scratching the surface

The interviews have more cuts than an action movie and depict the "retail investors" as stupid and reckless.

One interviewee already gave a statement that his words were twisted and cut to fit the narrative of the film makers.

When they talk about the buy button being removed it's only ever about robinhood eventhough more brokers restricted buying than not.

Generic stock footage is used frequently throughout the series. It almost feels like a youtube video.

When they try to explain short selling which is basically the reason for the whole documentary they explain the absolute basics then say it is "complicated"....well thank you. Why did I watch 2 hours of your series?

They paint normal people buying a stock as market manipulators.

You'll learn nothing from this series.

Very Inaccurate, Watches More Like a Mockumentary

I honestly do not think they did any other research than the facts that were provided to them by their corporate overlords.

    Mostly talking points from MSM.

The conclusion that retail investors, those of us with the least amount of money, power, and corruption conspired to crash the economy only leads to a bigger question....

Why is is so detrimental to our society that people invest in a stock, GME, in this instance, and hold on to it for appreciation?

Absolutely dumbfounding that the principles of stock ownership do not apply, and are sinisterized.

UNLESS.....there may actually be more going on behind the curtains. You have to wonder...why this group of individual investors poses such a threat to society...the truth with set you free.

Oh yeah...Cramer is a tool. Who the hell can take this joke of a commentator seriously. If you question his motives, check out the video of him talking about how to manipulate stock prices and public sentiment.

He should be in jail not on cable "news".

    Okay, I guess

Listen, I know Netflix Documentaries are usually said to not be too good and/or biased. But to be fair I'm not here to get, like, all the details and information from only this source HOWEVER what I'm here fore is a basic understanding and rundown of things so I can see if it is worth my time to do my own research.

I didn't really watch the news around the time all of this went down so "GameStop" was only "that one American company that kinda crashed the Wallstreet or something" to me. This little documentary series was amazing to give me a quick overview of what happened, so that I now have a (admittedly probably very rough) picture of the whole thing.

It might have felt very subjective but I still appreciated the opportunity to save me a tremendous amout of time for research. Admittedly, this was the most comfortable option.
