Dark State

I don't think this is purely a work of fiction. The characters are fictitious but the story is closer to reality than most people are prepared to admit.

It's a brave stab at the sins of Hollywood, stardom and fame.

It will never be a hit. The Dark State would never allow it!

This movie popped up on my Amazon prime as a suggested movie. Usually I have to dig for these types of films.

The type? It's a low budget drama, with a morality play.

The scenes, the lighting, can look cheap at times. Give the movie a chance because it takes a few twists and turns.

If you ever met anyone who left "the industry", then you know this story is more than a story.

Nonfiction story telling is usually in the form of tv news magazine reporting, tho they always have an angle forcing their opinions on you.

This storytelling shows how we are all vulnerable, and our decisions affect other people.

The spammy 1star reviews reinforce my opinion that they are paid for shills trying to tear down the truth.

This story brings to light many of the important issues that we were concerned about before Covid.

Now that vaccines are slowly gaining us some freedom, we should pick up where we left off.

Honour the departed by doing some good! ;)

The story itself was ok, but the bad acting and production, combined with a music score that made no sense, made this movie very bad.

I can't say I agreed with all of the filmmakers choices. Music, editing, cinematography were all hit and miss. But the script was focused, the acting was surprisingly good for a film with this kind of budget, and most importantly, the story gave me the creeps.

I can't say I enjoy thinking about the topics covered by this film. In fact, I generally avoid these subjects as I find them discouraging. But for anyone who's never considered the conspiratorial nature of power, fame, and large sums of money, this is worth your time to watch.

I am not surprised at the low score or sarcastic reviews. In a way, it proves the point the movie is trying to make. I applaud the filmmakers for making a movie they believe in, even though they knew it would get a low score. Not many people are willing to do that kind of thing.
