I figured out the solution fairly early- but the bonding of the characters at this point make it unmissable for me. I love trying to work out solutions in all detective stories- it's mainly why I watch them- but the relationships of the characters has me hooked now. Marlon has really found his place. Catherine is more evident and I hope that continues. Neville, Florence and JPs family are all reasons to watch- and Selwyn's grumpy Police Chief is irresistible. I felt such a wrench when I realised I have to wait a year for the next series to see what happens with them all.
The mystery of this episode was satisfying and believable. The climax in the b-storyline revolves around adorable officer trainee Pryce facing his "third strike" and prison for punching a suspect- who hit him first. As the young officer's actions were justifiable, viewers have to massively suspend disbelief. But cliffhanger ending more than makes up for it.
Death in Paradise concludes with an episode with a man who walks into a police station and thinks he is a murderer.
Emmet Peterson killed his boss and old friend Gardenia, a successful businesswoman in beauty products.
DI Parker finds the body of Gardenia in her property. He also uncovers a dark secret and that she was being blackmailed.
A solid episode with a solution that was neat if a little far fetched. However alternative suspects have been a bit thin in series 10, due to the low number of star guests in each episode.
The confrontation between Marlon and the suspected blackmailer Tarone was over the top. Given the provocation that Marlon was getting from Tarone it was in fact DI Neville at fault for letting it get out of hand. Tarone should had been inside a cell or out of the station.

80th episode. Assuming at least one person is killed per episode, that's a pretty impressive body count
Why would a man kill his oldest friend, especially after she's just gifted him part of a successful business.
I liked it, I thought it was good, it had a very dramatic opening, a solid mystery, and a solid story between J.P and Marlon. For a series finale, I would say it was a somewhat low key affair, I had expected something a bit more dynamic, this was solid.
The production values here were amazing, the camera work in general throughout this series has been incredible, credit to them for making it look this good.
It is always great to see Wil Johnson (I seriously miss Waking the Dead) and he was excellent in this.
I hope we get Neville back for series eleven. We don't need masses of changes next time round.
Overall, it had a few plot holes, a few moments of silliness, but overall it was good. 7/10.

- ErroresAs dramatic as Marlon's altercation with Tarone and its repercussions were, it didn't make the slightest bit of legal sense. Laying a hand on a police officer is an offence. Laying a hand on anybody is technically Assault if they choose to pursue it. Marlon not only (loudly) told Tarone multiple times not to touch him, the rest of the team saw Tarone push him, hard, which is Assaulting an Officer. Even a trainee with Marlon's background/deal wouldn't have faced the loss of his job, or prison time for a violent response to repeated assaults. The only part of the incident that makes sense is Marlon (given his traumatic life history) fearing that it could.
In fact, it's odd and out of character for none of the others to arrest or make any move whatsoever to stop Tarone, who was clearly escalating.
