I totally disagree with the "The worst film I have seen so far".
Sahan only made this movie because his "Recep Ivedik" sketch on "Dikkat Sahan Cikabilir" was much loved and viewed by millions on Youtube and other websites. He could have easily made a film about any other character he played in his show. His story seems very similar to Ali G's in that respect. Ali G only made Borat because it was the best loved character in "The Ali G Show".
Let's get one thing straight, most people watched Recep Ivedik 1 & 2 because they already had seen the sketch on TV and liked it, thus they knew exactly what to expect from the movie, just like I did.
Most the people who did not enjoy the movie probably never watched his sketch on TV beforehand, thus the disappointment.
I can agree that the movie is not a straight forward comedy movie and different to anything I have seen before but it still entertaining.
The movie may have a stupid story line or no story line as some say but it cleverly delivers a message. The movie isn't just plain stupid like Ali G, in fact there are so many scenes in this movie that show Recep is opposite of stupid.
Recep is very rude and sometimes disgusting in the movie but I found this funny, again not everyone will.
I think people who did not enjoy the movie missed on of the main points in the movie, "The Message"
Along side being "ignorant, rude and disgusting" he was educating people.
Examples such as:
"Ekinler bas vermeden kor buzagi topalmazmis" is a very nice message and makes sense.
He is not just a "Kiro" as we hear him talk about many things most people watching the movie don't even know about, things like Photoshop.
He looks after his Grandmother (In Turkey old people are never looked after and often put in old peoples homes instead) and also send the message across that "we should do anything it takes" to earn a living in this current situation.
He is very open with people and speaks his mind. When he meets "Yakuza" at the Chinese restaurant he openly tells her what he thinks, some may think he is horrible but I think he is doing the right thing.
To round it up I believe the movie was excellent, although some of the jokes were over the top he redeemed himself with the good message he was putting across.
People need to realise now that Comedy is not what it use to be, there are different types of comedy and everything has changed, Turkish comedy movies are what they are right now, lots of swearing. The Kemal Sunal days are over and now we have a new era.

Popular Turkish comedy writer and performer Şahan Gökbakar ("Dikkat Şahan Çıkabilir") reunites with his younger brother Togan Gökbakar ("Gen") for this fast and furious follow-up to their 2008 Turkish box office number one hit comedy "Recep İvedik" featuring his titular comedy character which manages to outperform its illustrious predecessor.
Fat, aggressive, unibrowed slob Recep İvedik (Şahan Gökbakar) has more than met his match in the form of his profanity spewing grandmother (Gülsen Özbakan) who sets him the tasks to find a job, gain respect and get married before she dies, which he achieves with a little help from cousin Hakan (Efe Babacan) and loyal sidekick Ali Kerem (Çagri Büyüksayar).
Şahan Gökbakar returns on top form as the inspired burlesque exaggeration of the modern Turkish peasantry at large in the city while superb support comes from Gülsen Özbakan who steals every scene as well as Efe Babacan and Çagri Büyüksayar who are not so easy targets as the westernised "White Turks" of the first film.
The film-makers free the character from the misguided romantic endeavour that so marred the first film to give the comedy creation free range in a series of short burlesque comedy routines more fitting to the likes of Mr. Bean or Borat that are tied together by the loosest of quest story-lines to create a far more satisfying film, albeit one still too crude and obvious for refined tastes.
"I am aggressive, I have complexes, but I am timid as a kitten when by myself. "

Seriously; I felt insulted. I have not seen anything so disrespectful as this piece of crap in my whole life.
Sahan Gokbakar, the leading actor and the scriptwriter, is a famous comedian in Turkey; but his suspicious fame is not enough to save this work in the eye of the audience.. OK, to be honest, there are two or three laughable moments all over; but as a whole, this 90 minutes of horse crap leaves a very sour taste in your mind.
No story at all; full of stupid jokes and a messy collection of events without any reasonable connection whatsoever.. This -so called- "movie" is the worst "thing" I have ever seen so far in a movie theater... I am now seriously considering to sue this nonsense... Innocent people should be warned somehow. I believe that this comment (actually, warning!) is my responsibility to the people as a responsible citizen!
Bottomline: Keep away at all costs... Seriously!

I agree with comments that this movie is not a real "movie". But its aim is not creating something that has an artistic value, but it is to make people laugh. When I watched it, the whole people in the movie theater were laughing continuously. Since this is a comedy film, and it can make people laugh, the rest is not so important. It is definitely better than the first one, there are more characters and more places, and the script is better except for the first half an hour. The grandmother's talks and Recep's speech to the crowd nearly in the end of the movie were the funniest, I think. If you want to "just" laugh, then don't hesitate to see it. But the jokes are for only Turkish people to understand.
