We're Totally Buggin' Over the 'Clueless' 30th Anniversary Funko Pop Collection
Image
It’s another year full of historic film anniversaries. If you love romantic comedies and were a 90s teen, then Clueless was most likely watched on repeat in your friend group. The Alicia Silverstone and Paul Rudd flick turns 30 in 2025. A sequel series has already been announced to be in the works at Peacock, but now Funko has joined in on the nostalgic party with new Pops based on the classic coming-of-age story.

There are four figures in Funko's Clueless anniversary Pop set. This includes Cher (Sliverstone) in her red dress from the poster, Dionne (Stacey Dash), and Tai (Brittany Murphy). However, there's also an additional Cher in her iconic plaid yellow outfit with her famous catchphrase “As If!” in a speech bubble above the figure. Cher now joins other beloved comedies like Mean Girls in that quotable Pop sub-series. Each figure will retail for $16.99 Usd.

Amazon MGM Studios Lands Psychosexual Thriller Pitch ‘The Killing Kind’ From Zach Helm; Maximum Effort To Produce
Image
Exclusive: Amazon MGM Studios has moved to preemptively acquire The Killing Kind, a psychosexual thriller pitch from screenwriter Zach Helm (Stranger Than Fiction), which Ryan Reynolds’ Maximum Effort is attached to produce, sources tell Deadline.

Amazon MGM declined comment. Specifics as to the plot of the film are under wraps for the moment.

Helm comes to The Killing Kind after working in the same vein as the co-writer of Deep Water, the erotic thriller, starring Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas, from Fatal Attraction‘s Adrian Lyne. Well acquainted with various genres, he’s perhaps best known for writing Stranger Than Fiction, the beloved Columbia Pictures dramedy starring Will Ferrell, which brought him nominations at both the WGA Awards and the Critics Choice Awards. A celebrated playwright whose play Good Canary was most recently directed by John Malkovich in London, Helm also wrote and directed 20th Century Fox’s family film Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium,...

We Can’t Ignore How Jared Leto Got an Oscar While Scarlett Johansson Was Reduced to Memes That Forced Her to Step Down
Image
Throughout the decades, Hollywood has long been plagued by issues of representation, gender bias, and unequal treatment of its stars. Two actors who perfectly illustrate this stark contrast are the unconfirmed ex-lovers, Jared Leto and Scarlett Johansson. Although both stars have proved to be immensely talented, their experiences in the film industry and its media spotlight could not have been more different.

After all, a rather controversial role in Dallas Buyers Club won the 52-year-old an Oscar. While the 39-year-old, who did the same thing, was often reduced to memes that ultimately pressured her to step down from a film.

The difference between the treatment of Leto and Johansson revealed an unsettling truth about Hollywood. However, that did not stop the actress from voicing her issues with it.

10 Lackluster TV Shows That Came From Hit Movies
Image
In a world where movie sequels, prequels, reboots and legacy sequels are the norm, audiences may be surprised that a lot of their favorite films have actually been turned into TV shows that they've never heard of. Some of these missed the mark so completely that they have faded into obscurity.

Television shows like High Fidelity, 10 Things I Hate About You, Cobra Kai and What We Do in the Shadows are all perfect examples of television shows that absolutely lived up to the reputation of the original. Unfortunately, television isnt always so on point. There are many shows that fall flat for fans, and many more that almost threatened the reputation of the original.

From classic teen movies like The Breakfast Club to modern hits like Netflix's To All the Boys I've Loved Before, these storylines are great examples of the teenage experience. These coming-of-age stories touch upon important themes, including diversity, acceptance, and maturing.

Some hits like Mean Girls and Clueless are timeless classics, perfectly capturing the dynamics of teenage social structures. Others like Stand by Me are profound coming-of-age stories that grapple with mature themes. Glaive I Care So Much That I Don’t Care at All Review: Uncomfortably Grim
glaive
Glaive’s debut studio album, I Care So Much That I Don’t Care at All, is bound to make listeners feel a sense of unpleasant voyeurism, filled as it is with grim musings from the 18-year-old about suicide, fentanyl, and general teenage alienation, all slickly packaged for alternative-pop radio. On “Barbie Doll,” he at least appears aware of this development in his discography, admitting that he fears he’s becoming “a commodity.”

Glaive’s mumble rap-inspired voice is limited in range and quality, but the rough edges help capture his feelings of despondency and angst. On “Titziana,” he bitterly lashes out at an ex who betrayed him: “Fuck all the times you left me out to dry/I never got the chance to ask you why,” while “Are You Bipolar One or Two” describes the anxiety he’s experienced during his rise to fame. Glaive, who recently came out as bisexual,...

Empire Podcast #553: Lily James & Shazad Latif, Jon Favreau
Image
As a great lady once sang, what's love got to do with it? Everything, is usually the answer, and that certainly drives this week's episode of the Empire Podcast and, indeed, the new rom-com What's Love Got To Do With It, whose stars, Lily James and Shazad Latif, pop onto a laptop and have a Zoom chat with Chris Hewitt in which he makes a desperate pitch to become their agent, and leaves the Working Title screening room in a frightful state. And love — namely of a little green guy with big ears – drives The Mandalorian, which is gearing up to return to Disney+ on March 1, and Chris also sits down with Jon 'Favs' Favreau for an interview about the show, how to find a director for Star Wars, and working with Peter Falk.

Then, in the podbooth, Chris is joined by Ben Travis, Alex Godfrey and James Dyer for...

Julianne Moore says someone in the film industry once made an inappropriate comment about her looks in a new interview with The Times.

The actress recalls, “Someone in the film industry said to me, ‘You should try to look prettier.’ I was like, ‘I don’t know if I can.’ Obviously, ours is a business where there is some physicality involved, but beauty and prettiness are subjective,” People reports.

Moore tells the paper how growing up, her red hair made her feel like an “outsider.”
