The cast of characters ping-ponging around Sofia's mansion and the surrounding neighborhood feel fresh and funny, the movie consistently delivers both thrills and laughs, and there is an absolutely delectable piano scene that I won't soon forget.

Ultimately, Borderline’s various threads threaten to unravel, but it succeeds in making a point about delusion and both unrealistic expectations and the lies we tell ourselves to make it through the day.

Like “Cocaine Bear,” Borderline was built with “midnight movie” appeal in mind. And even if it never quite adds up to more than that, it doesn’t disapoint.

It may not be quite as entertaining as the last time Weaving ended up in a murderous melee after a wedding ceremony. But there’s a least a few bits and bobs to keep “Borderline” from borderline failing.

Borderline is a prime example of how a really great cast can elevate rather frail material.
