When I first read about this documentary, I thought "who cares about plastic "super" models" but then I started watching it and was really impressed. How these four women transformed the modeling industry, changed as it evolved and maintained their dignity and respect in an industry that strips women of both much too often is very inspirational. Fighting off the critics just because they were being assertive, especially when it came to salary, making no excuses for demanding what they were worth, when women were told to shut up and just walk! May they continue to shine on the cover of Vogue well into their 80's!
What a gloriously sweet & glamorous slide down memory lane.
Most young men at the time had a favourite (Christy for me) whereas many liked Cindy.
But these women were unobtainable & we knew it and we were okay with it. They represented glamour & a world we working class kids didn't really understand. But that was okay too, because we understood beauty & dreams.
I've read a couple of articles reviewing the series that criticise the lack of indepth journalistic probing. These critics have completely lost the point & the plot. That's like criticising Disney cartoons for a lack of animal welfare storylines.
This show is as these ladies' careers were: dramatic, fun, optimistic & most of all, glamorous.
Nostalgic heterosexual male thoroughly enjoyed it.

Great watch! Well done doc. The story hits all sides of the fashion industry whether its good or bad. It maybe seem a bit one sided but from listening to the news and stories from the past years everything rings true.
It takes me back though to how I thought when I was younger to now where I am a father to a little girl. Would I support this lifestyle? Would I be able to defend and support my daughter if she was being exploited?
I am glad this came out when it did if for no other reason than to make me think. How can I approach situations better, how can I be better for my daughter?
Much respect for the women in the doc sharing their experiences!

Was it entertaining? Yes, did it give feelings of nostalgia? Sure, it was good doc/back to the past but it's missing a lot, there were more supermodels like the biggest of all, Claudia Schiffer, even to this day no one has been in more covers than her.
It also missed the truth about that industry at that time, like how they totally "blacklisted" the "original barbie" Karen Mulder for going against the predators, i understand wanting to make it easy to watch without really touching the brutality but they should have done it anyway.
At least Linda mention some of it, anyway it was entertaining but could have been much more.
